Some people are just a bit particular about what you say to them, or call them. For awhile I would say, "Ya Know," at the end of sentences, started to irritate myself and finally stopped.
My bro, brother, brethren comment was form the movie, "She's the Man" with Amanda Bynes.
I have been retiring my DVD collection and investing in the Blu-rays. So i've been regrowing my collection.
Blu-rays are worth every dollar. The sound and video quality for the most part is top notch.
Got every Star Wars movie fairly recently. Mostly prefer original and the new trilogy that is just getting off its feet. Tried to rewatch the prequels and gave up because it's such a snooze fest.
I am more of a Star Trek fan than a Star Wars fan.
I like them both, but not equally. I grew up with a Trekkie dad.
No joke, my dad has a replica of the Starship Enterprise that makes noise and shit. He also have Star Trek: TNG Playing cards, salt shakers, cups, and beach towels.
In our house? Anime. Japanese music. Japanese games. Toys themed after said anime. Live action versions of said anime. As a result, even new Japanese music has a sound to it that makes me nostalgic and then I get sad.
Other people know Disney movies. I know anime.
There WAS Star Wars and Star Trek. And Harry Potter after a time. I didn't pay attention to that.
Yeah. My dad is a serious nerd. He even has a technical manual of all the star ships in all of the Star Trek series, multiple episode guides and I think a Klingon book or something.
My dad even met Marina Sirtis. (The woman who plays Counselor Troi) I took a picture with her and she was so nice. We met her at a comic con in LA.
My dad is such a fanboy, it's no wonder I go crazy over the things I like too.
My daddy called me a nerd (of the academic kind) for talking about Latin for a class and I laughed. My daddy is a billion times smarter than I and yet doesn't know Latin.
My parents are intelligent and in my mind the best kind of smart, because it's practical smart. Dad says he hates math, especially geometry, can't do it in a classroom setting. Yet for his job he could draw, diagram and do geometry for fixing an aircraft wing. Had to politely point out to him that he was doing geometry and algebra. Made me giggle.
Mom is a whiz with numbers, then again, she is an accountant. Super good with words and loves geology.
Both love music, especially Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, music from the 50's forward.
