"Well I'll defiantly be a challenge." Belle was only half joking. "I hope your up for it."

Cal grinned. "I'm up for anything you've got." He said.

Belle blushed she hadn't been expecting that answer.

"Look at that there getting along." Alex grinned at them.

Rosemary smiled and nodded, genuinely happy rather than teasing. "It's nice to see. I think they're actually a pretty good match for each other. At least, their emotional signatures complement each other."

Cal smiled a little bit. "So, wanna go get lunch?" He asked, adjusting his eye patch slightly. "And maybe the whole "meet your campmate" thing after that? It might be a good idea for both of us to actually...meet the people we're living with. And this time I promise to answer any questions the vampires or anyone else still has."

"Emotion signture?" Alex blinked a little. "would you mind explaining?" he frowned when he noticed the other two where ignoring them or rather Belle was.

"That sounds good to me...though I don't know how the other vampires will react if they sense you have anything more then friendship for me." Belle frowned a little.

Rosemary looked thoughtful. "It's...kind of difficult to explain. You know how everyone has a different pattern? Like, even among the same species, each person's pattern varies slightly? Well, it's like that, except with emotions. Almost like an aura, but instead of seeing it, I feel it." She tried to explain.

Cal shrugged. "I don't know about that, but I do know I won't let anyone tell me I can't see you." He said. "Just let them try, they'll regret it."

"So there emotions are like red and white? They complement each other?" Alex frowned a little he thought he understood at least kind of.

Belle blinked. "Well your nothing if not stubborn." she chuckled shaking her head. "You'll change that tone if its dad or my grandfather telling you that."

Rosemary nodded. "Yeah, something like that." She said, glad he at least somewhat understood the concept. "Except she's a dark red and he's more of a smoky gray."

"I doubt that I will. Unless my stubbornness would backfire and they'd end up keeping you away from me." Cal said, thinking about it. "But I won't go down without a fight."

"What color is mine?" Alex asked curious. "Can you see your own?"

"Well I'll have to help pay for your funeral then." Belle said with a straight face. "If either of them say you aren't good enough and you put up a fight I feel bad for your parents."

"Yours is...if I had to pick a color, I'd say maybe a midnight blue." Rosemary said thoughtfully. "I can't actually see them, the color is just an...impression I get. And I don't know my own, though I'd like to think it's a seafoam green."

Todd gave a sad little smile. "My parents, huh? No reason to feel bad for them." He shoved his hands in his pockets. "Anyway, if that's the case, then I'll just have to be on my best behavior for your folks. I'll make 'em love me."

"Do the colors have a special meaning?" Alex asked curious.

"yeah good luck with that." Belle said dryly. "You would have better luck petting a wild starving wolf."

Rosemary took another moment to think. No one had ever asked about this before. "I don't think so. They're more like...a fingerprint. A way of identifying someone." She said eventually.

Todd looked put out. "So what you're saying is that there's no way they'll ever accept me." He said sadly.

"Hmm." Alex nodded then smiled. "Sorry about all the questions. Do you want to ask me something?"

"Oh I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that it will be really hard. If you where vampire it would be easy as pie." Belle shrugged.

"No, that's alright. No one's ever cared enough to ask before. It's...actually kind of nice talking about it." Rosemary assured him. "Actually, I do have one question. When you transform, are you able to understand the other animals around you? Or is it just your appearance that changes and the other animals still sound like just animals?"

Todd looked at his shoes for a moment, then looked back up, smiling. "But, I can be a vampire!" He said excitedly. "It's the only pattern I can easily switch to...almost like that one comes naturally or something. Anyway, I could be a vampire for your folks. I could be a vampire all the time, if you wanted. Would that work?"

"But then you would be pretending to be something you really aren't." Belle frowned at him. "I would rather you be yourself." she blushed. "I like you better that way."

"I can understand them." Alex smiled. "It can be a little weird actually but they have interesting stories."

Todd blushed. "I appreciate that." He said. "I mean, a lot of chameleons pick one pattern and stay like that for most of their adult lives, but..." He stopped. The whole reason he'd come to Shadow Falls was to get away from people trying to make him be something he wasn't. "I'll just have to try my best."

Rosemary smiled. "I know, right?" She was glad to hear his answer. As far as she knew, there weren't any other fae who could talk to animals like she could, so she'd never been able to talk to anyone about it. "Birds are so fun to talk to. They've been so many places."

"Except for Parrots." Alex grimaced. "They tend to be...annoying but there not as bad when can't understand there normal chatter." he smiled a little. "Whats your favorite animal?"

"I know you will." Belle's gaze turned soft. "I keep feeling mushy around you!" she groaned and sighed. "Just meh."

Rosemary blushed. "Well, actually...ugh, it's so cliché and stupid." She covered her face with her hair, embarrassed. "My favorite animals are...wolves." She whispered the last word. "But real ones, not weres! Real wolves are so much better..."

Todd laughed. "It's okay, I promise I won't tell anyone. They'd never believe me, anyway." He said.

"yes they are." Alex grinned. "Like this?" bubbles appeared around and he turned into a wolf a gold brown one. He transformed back and fixed his glasses. "Don't ask why there are bubbles I don't really get it either."

Belle frowned at him then laughed. "Your right they wouldn't."

Rosemary smiled brightly. "Did you choose for the wolf to look like that, or is it a default coloring?" She asked. She knew shapeshifters could make the animal any color, but she had always wondered if they also had a default color for if they weren't thinking about it.

Cal gave her a smirk. "Alright, let's go get lunch now. I'm hungry enough to eat a whole cow." He said. As if to emphasize his point, his stomach growled loudly.

"It's the color of my hair so I guess you can call it a default color. It tends to be harder to think of a different color for most animals." Alex shrugged. "Though my sister likes all her forms to be pink." he chuckled.

"I did that once when I was little. I was sick from all that blood afterwards though." Belle said it casually as if they where talking about the weather.

"Cute." Rosemary chuckled. "Still, your wolf form is beautiful. I've never seen fur quite like that before." She paused, blushing as she realized what she'd just said.

Todd raised an eyebrow. "Wait, really? You actually drained an entire cow?" He asked, sounding slightly impressed. "I didn't realize that was possible."

Belle blushed. "I was little and it was a dare. It was a foolish things to do and I was sick for like a week after. They taste..weird."

Alex blushed as well. "Its just my hair color.'' he mumbled glancing away.

Todd made a face, laughing. "Well, at least now I know to never eat a whole cow. Thanks for that valuable information. Though I'm sorry you had to find out first hand." He said.

"W-well...I like it..." Rosemary said, not looking at him.

Belle glared at him "Stop laughing." she slapped his shoulder then gasped as he turned into a small pink rabbit. "Oh my God!" she blinked then burst into laughter.

"I'm glad you like the color of my hair then." Alex smiled at her then with a frown turned towards Belle. "Is that a bunny?"
