"Exactly," Kurama said, nodding a little. He was quiet for a moment. "Have you seen much of the city yet? I could show you around, if you'd like to get out of the temple for a while."

Peggy visibly perked up a bit at that. "I haven't, I've really only been in the city once or twice. You wouldn't mind showing me around?"

"Not at all," Kurama said. "I would be pleased to take you into the city."

Peggy smiled at that. "Alright," she agreed. "Whenever you want. I don't exactly have a set, strict schedule here."

"I'm rather free to do as I please, as well," Kurama said. "So please, just let me know when you'd like to go." He smiled gently at her.

Peggy's blush had almost gone away before that. It returned, rather with a vengeance, and she ducked her head again, though she was grinning. "Sounds good," she agreed. She glanced back behind her and nearly groaned. "Guess I better get back to work before Genkai comes over and pulls my ear or something."

"Indeed," Kurama said, nodding. "Although ear-pulling is likely the least of the ways she's dragged apprentices back inside."

"Oh I can imagine." Peggy hauled herself upright again with a little groan and stretched, cracking her back. "Well, then, I'll see you again later?"

Kurama nodded.

"Of course," he said. "I doubt I'll wander too far; I do still want to check on the rest of Genkai's property after all."

Peggy nodded. "Have fun," she told him with a bit of a grin before she headed back to Genkai. Well, well. That had been interesting, certainly.

Kurama nodded and watched her go back inside before he continued on to the dark forest. He needed time to consider this new development, because he wasn't sure what had prompted him to offer her a tour of the city.

Peggy went back to training, managing to successfully put Kurama out of her mind. At least for now.

Because damn it all that crush from way back hadn't gone away.

A couple of days later, Kurama found himself lingering around the temple again. He steadfastly ignored the rather knowing looks that Genkai was giving him, and instead waited for Peggy to reach a break in training.

Peggy got a break and immediately went over to Kurama. She'd seen him while she was training, and he was a nice, safe spot in between training.

"Checking up on things again today?" she asked, sitting down next to him.

"In a sense," Kurama replied, moving over a little so she could sit. "None of the plants need my attention yet, at least."

"Oh good, I get you to myself for a little while then." Peggy smiled a little at him.

Kurama smiled a little in return.

"It looks to be that way," he agreed. "Was there something you had in mind already?"

"No," Peggy admitted. "I just wanted to relax for a few minutes, chat some. There aren't a lot of people to talk to here." She shrugged.

"No, I don't imagine there are," Kurama said. "Especially with your friend still away." He briefly wondered how Hiei's little quest was doing, but it wasn't the time to bring it up into conversation.

Peggy nodded. "I mean, hopefully she'll be back soon, but who knows?" She shrugged a bit. "So, in the meantime, I'm just trying to talk to whoever is around and won't wallop me for it."

Kurama smiled a bit.

"Well, hopefully I can help you with that one," he said.

Peggy grinned at him. "Awesome. You're welcome to ask questions, by the way, since you seemed to have a few last time."

"I didn't want to be rude," Kurama said. "I was content to wait until you were ready to answer them."

Peggy shrugged. "Honestly, at some point I'm sure I'll pelt you with questions too, so feel free. I'll tell you if you offend me, or if there's something I can't answer."

Kurama considered that for a moment.

"Perhaps you should start," he offered. "Surely there must be something you have questions about."
