"Shuichi doesn't tend this one," Youko said, letting her look around. None of the plants were dangerous, and none of them would harm her. "These are strictly mine."

"How come?" Peggy asked, glancing back at him before she resumed looking around. "Not big on sharing?"

"This garden is well-established," Youko replied, leaning against a tree and watching her explore. "It does not need as frequent tending as some others. And as a moon garden, it only blossoms fully under a full moon."

"Which is apparently perfect timing." Peggy stopped in front of a bush with pure white flowers, glancing back at him to see if it was okay to touch. She didn't want to hurt it, or get her fingers nipped off.

Youko glanced at the plant.

"Probably shouldn't," he said. "Those leave spores when they're touched, and the spores can be toxic."

Peggy made a face but refrained from touching the plant, instead just looking. She made her way around the whole garden, taking her time.

Youko just watched. He couldn't help but feel the slightest touch of approval when he saw how careful she was being, and that surprised him. He rarely approved of humans at all, aside from a select few.

Peggy did spend a bit of time examining a huge vine that was growing up the nearest tree, silver-white flowers blossoming bigger than her hand. She grinned as she tried to see how far up it went.

"I take it you like that one?" Youko commented when he saw her examining the climbing vine.

"It's great," Peggy agreed. "And huge. I have literally no idea what this is but I kinda like it, yeah."

Youko smirked a bit at that and went over to the vine. He reached up and gently pulled off one of the flowers, making sure the blossom was perfect, and then tucked it gently behind her ear.

Peggy blinked at that and slowly blushed. But she also smiled, pleased. "Thanks," she murmured, still watching him.

"Think nothing of it," Youko replied. "It suits you." He nudged her a little. "Come, we should get you back. The old woman will have my hide if you fall asleep tomorrow because I kept you out."

Peggy pouted a bit but nodded. "Alright," she agreed reluctantly. "Back we go, then."

Youko walked back with her all the way to the window of her room.

"And here I must bid you goodnight," he said. He gave her a charming grin. "Until next time, then."

Peggy smiled. "Good night," she murmured, for a moment just watching him. Then she made herself go clamber back in the window.

Youko watched until she was inside, and then disappeared into the forest again. It wouldn't be sunrise for a few more hours, so he still had a few hours of moonlight to enjoy.

Of course, Peggy didn't sleep much after that, and was consequently rather sleep-deprived the next day. But she didn't regret it, not even when Genkai grumped at her.

Kurama stopped by the temple that afternoon, just checking on the more mundane gardens around the grounds.

Peggy was taking a break from training and had flopped out in the sun with an arm thrown over her eyes, trying to catch a quick nap. This one time, it was worth risking Genkai's wrath.

Kurama came across her on the courtyard and paused for a moment. Rather than disturb her, he carefully reached out with his energy and sprouted a couple of pretty, harmless flowers near her.

Peggy did notice the energy change around her, and she cracked open one eye to make sure Genkai wasn't going to do anything nasty to her. She did blink at the flowers, momentarily caught off guard.

Kurama leaned against a tree, watching her. His posture was reminiscent of Youko.

Peggy's gaze slid from the flowers to Kurama, and she blinked again, momentarily seeing double. Well, that was new. She'd have to keep a closer eye on him after the full moons.

"Hi," she muttered, pushing herself upright.

"Hello," Kurama said, smiling a bit. "How are you this afternoon? I understand it was a rather late night."
