"It was," Peggy agreed with a grin. "But it was worth it. Genkai, of course, has no pity at all."

"No, I don't suppose she does," Kurama said, laughter evident in his voice. "I'm sure she's shown no pity for anyone since before she trained Yusuke."

"That would not surprise me," Peggy agreed, reluctantly getting to her feet. "You look no worse the wear for lack of sleep."

"Fortunately for me, it's something I'm used to," Kurama replied. He looked at her. "If you'd rather no more late-night visits, I'm sure I can work something out..."

"No," Peggy said, shaking her head quickly. "No, this is definitely worth it. That was fun, last night."

Kurama smiled.

"Careful," he said. "That could be taken as an invitation for future evenings."

"That's not a bad thing." Peggy smiled. "I'm already spending time with you, I don't mind some full-moon jaunts."

"Good to know," Kurama said. He smiled a bit and another flower poked up from the ground near her.

Peggy looked down and grinned. "Those are cute," she told him, glancing at him, almost shyly.

Kurama smiled.

"I'm glad you like them," he said.

Peggy smiled. "Are you having fun growing flowers out here?" she asked, almost teasing.

"Possibly," Kurama replied, grinning a bit. "It might be that I like growing them for you."

Peggy blushed at that and looked down at the flowers again. She wasn't sure what to say to that. Finally, she glanced at him. "Thanks," she murmured, still pink.

"My pleasure," Kurama said, just watching her. "I shouldn't distract you much longer from your training, though."

"I've got about a minute and a half before I have to go back in." Peggy smiled a little. "Much longer than that and she'll come looking, though."

"Best not to make her do that," Kurama greed, grinning a bit. "Else she might take it out on the both of us."

"No kidding." Peggy grinned. "That woman is completely fearless."

"I've never met anyone moreso," Kurama agreed, nodding. "Except, perhaps, Yusuke. But then, in that respect they're two of a kind."

"No kidding," Peggy said with a soft snort. "I should go, though. I'll see you later." She shot him a quick smile and left, careful to not step on any of the flowers on her way.

Kurama smiled and let her go. Carefully, he moved the little flowers to the edge of the courtyard, so as not to get Genkai angry that he grew them in the middle of the space.

Peggy's training was progressing steadily enough that Genkai started to set her on self-practice, and set up an area outside where Peggy couldn't hurt much of anything as she worked on her aim with her bow.

Kurama continued to hang around to keep her company. At one point, Youko even brought her a better bow to use, stronger and better suited to her energy than the one she'd been practicing with.

Peggy blinked at the bow but she started using it every day none the less. It was a nicer bow, and prettier, even if that was inconsequential.

"Dare I ask where this came from?" she asked teasingly after a few days practicing with it.

"You probably don't want to know about its original ownership, no," Kurama replied, grinning a bit. "Suffice to say it came from a... well-hidden cache."

Peggy snorted quietly at that. "Uh huh," she agreed with a little grin. "Well, the original owner is probably sad because this is a lovely bow."
