Yes. I worked as an assistant manager at Taco Bell. My salary was $36k a year. But I had to work 50 hours per week and only clock in for 40, which happens to be completely illegal. So, after adding up the additional off-the-clock hours and taxes being taken out, I really wasn't making much more than shift leads, who typically don't do much more than the regular employees.

Wow. That's not good. We keep having different UPS delivery guys. One delivers in the morning. One delivers at night. We prefer getting deliveries in the morning, so we can process everything and put it out. At night, we need to be more focused on straightening the store and cleaning. We get freight Monday through Friday.

My hair always felt very damaged for a few years after I moved where I currently live. There is no humidity here. I'm from a very humid place. I never needed hair products besides shampoo. Now I need conditioner and masks....only I was too dumb to realize that until like last year.
|
Ah. I live in south Mississippi, so it's really humid here. With my hair, I've always needed conditioner. I've never tried masks.

I feel like I can't think when it's really quiet. Maybe it's because I grew up in such a big household. There was always something going on. My husband can just sit in the quiet, perfectly happy.

Oh, I very, very rarely got to leave early when I was salary. Only when it was me and two certain other assistant managers, and we knew the general manager wouldn't be coming in. Definitely not enough to have made it worthwhile.

Last year I went into a salon to get my hair trimmed and layered like I like it, and I hadn't been in like 2 years. The woman who cut my hair was politely horrified at how dry it was and made me promise I'd take better care of it, so I've been very attentive to moisturizing it with conditioner etc.
Masks are nice but I can only use them like once every 2 weeks or I turn into a grease ball and no one wants that.

Yes, hourly pay. They just passed a law, though, about companies making salaried employees work more than 40 hours without overpay. Companies are still finding loop holes around it, though.
Kitami - My hair usually doesn't get greasy unless I go more than 2 days without washing it. I typically wash it every other day or every third day, or else, it's too hard to do anything with. It gets too soft and wispy, if that makes sense.

I use argan oil 4 in 1 leave in conditioner on the part of my hair that isn't dyed & coconut conditioner on the dyed hair.
I've been worried to use the argan oil on the dyed hair because the argan wipes did a great job of getting rid of any dye that was on my skin.
It seems like it has also taken some of the dye from my hair when I have used them around my ears.

Yep. It's not really fair, but you know the rules before you get the job. At least, I hope it's explained to people first. Where I work, the only salaried employee is the store manager. She still has to work 45 hours a week. Before, she had to work 45 hours a week, and if we didn't make labor the week before, however much we missed it by, she had to work that much extra the following week. Now, she gets yelled at if she even goes a minute past 45 hours.

@ Queenie - Not bad at all! There are a good many of those that I am missing still. I would love to win, but just gotta put in my best effort! There may be someone who gets higher still and wins. And score standings could change a lot throughout the event.

Kit, where do you buy the mask products for your hair? I've thought about getting something for my hair just to add moisture to it and keep it shiny.
Salvete, I am sure there are other good folks on here that would fill the void should Roachi or I take a break from Menewsha.
Michy, you should have gotten your labor board involved with something like that. Seriously against the law to not pay your employees for work they have done.
