"Agreed." Fury nodded. "I'm sure I'll see you two again before you leave." He gave them both a look before he shifted his attention to his computer.

Rose stood after a moment, sharing a look with Summer. At least they were still alive.

Summer returned the look. That had gone a lot better than she'd expected, even though Fury knowing about everything still freaked her out a little.

Rose followed Coulson back out and down to the car, slowly settling again. That had been weird, but not bad. Just weird.

Summer was quiet the right back, just trying to make sense of what happened.

"Think this world connected when Disney bought Marvel back home?" she murmured to Rose after a little while.

"I'm honestly not sure," Rose murmured back. "I mean, it's the right look, and everything." She made a face. "Talk about the multi-verse theory."

"Seriously," Summer said. "Though, I mean, multiverse theory makes sense. Bet if we track down the Fantastic Four they could even explain it to us if we asked nicely."

"Probably. Although then we'd have to deal with them, and half of them are kind of asses." Rose shrugged, in a 'could go either way' kind of motion.

"This is true," Summer said, nodding. "I guess for now we just hang around until we find the big heartless and stop it."

"Sounds like a decent plan to me."

Coulson snorted softly but didn't disagree.

Summer grinned.

"At least there are plenty of reflective surfaces around here," she added. "We can head back whenever we need to." She knew Coulson and Natasha were both listening in at this point, but she didn't mind them overhearing that. It was mostly harmless.

"True," Rose agreed easily. "Should be fun." She grinned, starting to get over the shock finally.

"No kidding," Summer said. She looked out the window when the car finally stopped. "This is definitely going to be fun."

Coulson got out first and led the girls back to the elevator to get them up to the upper levels again. He had a feeling these two were going to part of the "give Coulson a heart attack a day" squad.

This time, Summer took the opportunity to look around more closely as they went up to the higher floors.

"It's kind of impressive," she commented to Rose. "I have no idea where any of the cameras are, they're hidden really well."

"They are," Rose agreed, looking around curiously. "I mean, not that I expected anything else, but still. Really impressive."

"I've always kind of low key dreamed of this," Summer admitted. "Being able to look around Stark Tower. I never, ever thought that it could actually happen though."

"I know." Rose grinned. "Should be fun."

She put that thought on hold, though, when Coulson pushed open the door back to the central living area, and Captain America was waiting on the other side, arms crossed over his chest.

Summer very nearly tripped over herself when she saw him standing there, and she definitely let out an undignified squeak.

"Captain, you're back early," Coulson said as he walked into the room calmly.

"Heard about what happened." Steve glanced at Coulson before looking back at the two. "Tony also had some interesting things to say about the weapons they're using."

"I'm sure he did," Coulson said. "The director has already met them, and they'll be staying here for the time being." He gave a carefully bland smile. "I'll let you all get acquainted." With that, he walked away, into another room.

Summer almost whimpered at that. Now there was no buffer between them and Captain America, and she really kind of wanted that buffer.

Rose stared after Coulson with a vaguely betrayed look on her face. Natasha had vanished, too. Dammit.

Steve took a few moments, studying them both with his eyes narrowed a little, before he came to some kind of decision. "Where did you get your weapons?"

He hadn't been there for the initial discussion, Summer realized. Shit.

"Um..." She hesitated, trying to find the right words. "Honest to god, you probably won't believe us if we tell you. Even with your threshold for crazy things."

"I heard all about that," Steve said, shaking his head a bit. "Tony told me about what you said. I meant where did you get a shield?" He was focused mostly on Summer now.

"I don't know," Summer said, gesturing helplessly. "It's not supposed to be a shield, I don't know what happened, and I don't know how to make it change back. It's supposed to be a cross between a sword and a giant key."

Steve eyed her for a moment before he snorted. "You used it like a battering ram," he said, sounding somewhere between amused and aggrieved.
