"Well, she is my sister," Athena responded. She clicked her heels on the floor a little and started to meander towards another section of the exhibit.

Tony snorted quietly and then huffed when Pepper caught his eye. "I have to go do a thing, apparently," he said. "Good job, be in touch." He shot her a quick wink and headed over to see what Pepper needed.

"Thanks, have fun," Athena said, giving him a quick wave. She watched him go, and then went to mingle with the rest of her VIPs.

Alana caught up with her a while later. The party was winding down, half of the Avengers had already skedaddled, and she was ready to go.

"Hey, I think I'm going to head home," she said. "I know you have to stay and finish up, so get a cab on your way home, okay? Just this once."

"There's no way I'm walking back in these shoes," Athena said, grinning a bit. "I'll catch a cab, don't worry about me. Go on home, you have superheroes to wrangle in the morning."

"Ugh, don't remind me." Alana was grinning, though. "I'll see you at home, then. Be safe." She waved and headed for the door.

Athena nodded and went to start overseeing the cleanup from the gala. She'd be able to go home once the catering and bar were packed up and gone.

Alana started walking back. It wasn't that late, no later than a late night coming back from the office. So she figured she'd be fine.

Her nifty little personal protection device from Tony didn't hurt matters, either.

Daredevil was out on patrol when he noticed her walking alone. He followed her for a couple of blocks, just making sure she was alright, but didn't move to interact with her. She seemed to be doing alright on her own, no sense in scaring her by coming out of nowhere.

Which of course was when a would be mugger stepped in front of Alana.

"Hand over the cash," he said.

Alana sighed. "Come on, not tonight," she nearly whined. "I'm too tired for this."

"I said hand over the cash," the mugger snarled, taking a step forward.

Daredevil took that as his cue and dropped down from a rooftop on top of the guy.

Alana blinked at that, taking a step back so she was out of the way. Once the mugger was down and it was clear who exactly had just beaten him up for her, she grinned.

"You're Daredevil aren't you?"

"According to the papers," Daredevil responded. "You shouldn't be out alone this time of night, not in this neighborhood."

"I do it all the time, haven't run into trouble yet." Alana looked down at herself ruefully. "It's the dress, isn't it?"

Daredevil gave a bit of a wry grin.

"Probably," he agreed.

"Damn." Alana sighed. Then she brightened. "Hey, I totally won that bet with Clint! You just made my night. Thanks for that. Let me buy you a coffee."

"Maybe another time," Daredevil said, shaking his head a bit. "You should head home before someone else tries to mug you."

Alana huffed. "Don't think I won't take you up on that raincheck," she said, looking at him for a moment. Then she shook her head a bit and headed off towards home again. She did have to walk past him and the mugger, and she may or may not have kicked the mugger as she passed. Maybe. Possibly. But there was no proof.

Daredevil hid a snort at that. He definitely noticed when she kicked the mugger. He waited until she reached the corner, and then climbed back up onto the rooftop to keep an eye on her until she got home.

Alana made it back home without incident, and shut herself into the apartment with a huff. Well, at least now she could finally say she'd met Daredevil. And she won that bet with Clint, so overall not bad.

Athena got home a while later, making sure to lock the door behind her.

"Ugh, I'm glad that's over," she said as she put her bag down and slipped off her shoes. Her skirt swished quietly as she headed towards the bedrooms. "I'm home!"

"Hey," Alana called. She'd changed out of her dress and was in comfy clothes, getting ready for bed. "So guess who I finally met on the walk home."

"Who?" Athena asked, already shimmying out of her floofy skirt as she walked towards her room.

"Daredevil." Alana grinned. Clearly this was News and deserved to be shared ASAP, no matter what time it was.

"What?!" Athena came back out of her room and went over to her, looking her over quickly. "Oh my god are you okay? Did you get hurt? What happened?"
