Just to try it out. But then.... It would be pretty weird having a man named Ava.

Tom IRL is not pudgy and cute like my Tom here on Mene.
But that's okay. I don't mind a pudgy Tom.

I love Visual Kei men.
They are too beautiful. But not the type I would fall in love with, marry and have children with.
Might be hard to explain to your child when your husband looks and dresses like a woman.

Not all VK guys dress like women.... very few of them do really.
But eh... i'm goth and my son doesn't question my oddities. Even when he does, he understands that it's just aesthetics and nothing to do with the person beneath the cosmetics/fabric/contacts.
I've got a pretty cool kid though.

That's awesome, Nightmare. :D
I think when I think of Visual Kei, my immediate thought is...
HIZAKI!
And... BOU.
They are my all-time favorite Visual Kei men.
I just wouldn't marry them. They are prettier than me! D:
It's cool to have cool children, Nightmare. :D
I hope that my future child will accept all my oddities too. Especially the fact that I like to dabble in witchcraft and the like. I'd like for him or her to also do the same thing if they wanted to.

And I go old school VK.... I think of Malice Mizer, Dir en Grey, Phantasmagoria, Psycho le Cemu, Gazette, Nightmare..... etc etc....
And usually the dynamic is one girly boi out of a group of 4-5 guys.

Can you believe I never knew that Gazette was Visual Kei? :O
I just thought they were a metal band. (But then, isn't every VK band?)
Now that you mention it, I also notice that dynamic. (1:4-5)
Is that where you got your username from, Nightmare?

Hehe, VK is awesome and bands also progress throughout the years. So with Gazette, depending on when you got interested in them, they may not be that VK. Same with Dir en Grey. Like recently they are not VK at all and I still love them!!
They 1:4-5 is pretty common. I think it's just a thing that started with bands like X-Japan and Malice Mizer. So it sort of kept progressing with the newer and newer bands. Gives everyone a variety of types to fall for in the band. Marketing all interested.
Oh no!! I've been Nightmare since well before I ever knew about J-rock bands. It was my Stage name back in Chicago when I shadow danced. I was Mistress Nightmare Arsenic. I worked at a gothic nightclub.

Ah, that makes sense. :o I was really into VK when I was in middle school, so we're talking 8-9 years ago. I noticed that some of my favorite J-Rock artists are no longer J-Rock. Like, there was one that I used to love and a friend of mine told me recently that he isn't even rock anymore? Like, apparently he does acoustic, folk-y music now. :O It was such a big change! Not that I don't like acoustic, folk-y music. (In fact, I love it.) But it was so different.
That makes sense. The more I stare at Hizaki's pictures the more I want to listen to Versailles. And the more I want to take Hizaki's face and mash it up against mine.
Ooh. That sounds really cool! I've always wanted to go to a goth nightclub. But I don't think we have any where I live. :( Well, that's a lie... I KNOW we don't have any where I live. I live out in the country in a small town in Minnesota. So clearly, there's no cool nightclubs here.

Are you talking about Miyavi? MYV? His music is still freaking amazing though. Even if he's no longer the grungy/punk/rock kid that he was 5-10 years ago. He's also still just as sexy.
I stopped listening to new Jrock bands a long time ago. I miss my old fandoms. Though I love that Pierrot split up, because I hated their guitarist and drummer, but loved the vocalist. So now Kirito Shinya has his own stand alone music and that's amazing! Though not all bands are better when they change. I still miss Dir en Grey's VK days. Though their comfy band shirt style is fine too.
Ah it's hard to find Goth clubs even in heavily populated areas. Usually you have to cope with 80's or raver clubs.... or the occasional hip hop club that has a small group of the darker aesthetic. I got lucky in finding the drag queen clubs and htey introduced me to the more underground hidden clubs. Here in San Diego, there are a number of dark aesthetic clubs and I love going to a few of them.

Such a shame, they have such a variety of music. It's called J-Rock but some of it is really alternative rock/pop.... depends on the band.
L'Arc en Ciel is considered a J-rock band (more pop if you ask me), though they are pretty much the anime theme song king of the world. Hahah! Like the song Ready, Steady, Go! from Full Metal Alchemist.

I haven't really kept up with any of my old favorites when it comes to J-Rock. I probably should check up on them and see what they've been up to. Lately, I find myself listening to a load of folksy music. Mostly Anti-Folk and Indie folk...
That is so cool! I have family is San Diego, but I know none of them would ever go to a goth club. :C I want to go to one someday! Have you ever seen the movie, "Only Lovers Left Alive"? I have always wanted to go to a club a lot like the one in the movie... It wasn't exactly a "goth club" but the music was mostly rock and metal that they played there, which is exactly what I'd like in a club.

I have recently caught up with a bunch of my old bands from the Jrock community. I adore Miyavi's new stuff. He's using a lot more english, since he's getting better with his accent and vocabulary. He was in a movie with Aneglina Jolie recently. I didn't recognize him at first, but hot damn he's a hottie in short hair and manly looks. I still prefer him with his punk/VK clothing and hair though.
I haven't seen that movie. What's it about?
