ASUS, MSI, and recently HP's OMEN series are the best gaming laptops on the market.
But primarily the ASUS ROG series is dominating.
In high school I was super obsessed with anime and manga. Specifically, Sailor Moon, DBZ, Gundam Wing, Yu Yu Hakusho, Tenshi Muyu, and Chobits. It was all I drew. I doodled with my friends, we would think up crossover realm couples and other random things, like who would beat who in a fight. Obsessively.

I just buy average computers for average gaming, the high end ones are pretty pricey.
lol Same! I can't quite remember what we discussed back then but we would talk endlessly about the series we were obsessed with and doodle all sorts of things featuring them, regardless of my sucky drawing skills.

Ohh! Yeah, I've heard of ASUS for gaming... But I don't really know much about it other than that. :O I'm sure I'll buy an ASUS when I get the money/time.
I, too, was really into anime. I grew up watching Yu Yu Hakasho, InuYasha, A Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar, Wolf's Rain, .hack//SIGN, Ranma 1/2... My little "comics" were always sexual, though... I don't know why because as a kid, I used to think it was illegal to be naked?! I distinctly remember someone showing me "hentai" at a young age. So, I guess that's where I got my "inspiration" from??
It's really weird to look at my poorly drawn naked people. I'm glad I got rid of those notebooks!

I absolutely ADORE my smut with some LOT of plot.
Though mostly I stick to BL stuff, cause I honestly get SUPER annoyed with most female characters. I highly HIGHLY dislike the whole damsel in distress motif. Or the I need to be swept off my feet sort of lady. I think I also really like the taboo of BL. Though I actually find I really love the stories that don't focus on negative societal views of the relationship best.
I can't draw anything close to smut. I've tried a handful of times... but get super embarrassed at my attempts and give up. I'll stick to cute signs of affection or clothed intimacy.

I found a cool doll program that helps me with getting interactions between characters to work properly.
Takes a bit of getting used to and posing, but is really awesome once you get those down.

It was a free download.

@Nightmare: Sounds like a great app! I'll have to check it out when (and if...) I ever get back into drawing. My 'drawings' these days are mostly just doodles of stick figures or chibis.

Drawing? What is drawing? Is that anything like when I plug in my tablet, make a bunch of scribbles in MS Paint, and pretend they look like something recognizable or even something GOOD?

Ugh I used to hate showing my drawings (still do, actually, unless it's something I'm really, really proud of) to anyone because as a kid I showed a doodle to a classmate and she told me it was ugly and didn't like it. Stopped showing artwork to people after that.

I can relate!
I used to actually be a pretty good artist, not going to lie. I was referred to a prestigious art school and when they saw my art they said, "YES! YOU'RE IN!" But I was a couple years too young, so they told me, "Come back in a couple of years!" Well, I used to LOVE drawing, I drew every day, all the time. Sometimes I wouldn't even watch TV or play video games, I'd literally sit in my rooms for hours and hours drawing, or coloring my drawings on Photoshop....
Well, I was on Gaia one day and I did the "rate the profile above you" thread. Someone in the thread saw my art and said, "Your art is bad :(" Those exact words. Then I went to *their* profile and all they drew was anime. So I got mad and made the biggest mistake of my life, which was posting in their "art" forum and some troll started making fun of my art... I guess because it wasn't "anime" which was what was "in style" at the time.... So since then, I've stopped drawing almost entirely.
I felt like every time I picked up a pen, I could "hear" voices saying, "Your art is bad"

Ugh yes. Gaia sucks, they're almost like 4chan in some ways.
And yeah, every time I draw I'd keep thinking of those words of how my art is bad and my own inner voice of how I can never compare to other people's art anyway so why bother even trying.

Yeah. :( It's awful!
I used to love drawing so much. It was something I could do to unwind from the stress of every day... But now I get stressed out when I draw. D:
I HATE that I listened to some talentless troll on Gaia...
But I was younger, I let things get to me too easily. Now, I don't give a shit about what people think of me online.

Hey now! I love Gaia.
But it is pretty toxic in some areas and certain cliques.
Just like any gigantic forum you come across. Even DevianArt is that way sometimes.
But I guess i've never let others opinions of my art stop me, since it's something I enjoy. IF others enjoy it, then great, if they don't then they can kiss a curb and get stomped for all I care about their opinion. I do have to say though, the Gaia art community is what pushed me into actually getting better at everything art related.... except coloring.... no one can make me get better at that! LOL!

I remember some places on Gaia are okay, but there's always the risk of some troll coming along and trying to mess things up. The Chatterbox is one of the worse places, it's a huge mess.

I've been a long time member of Gaia. :(
I think my first account was made in 07. I was in middle school... :D
Back in 07-09 was a really great time for Gaia. Inflation wasn't as big of an issue, the other members weren't as hellbent to be annoying and troll-ish. I used to love Gaia for RPing.
Around 2010-2011 was when things started to go south for me. The community wasn't supportive anymore. I don't mean like the GD or Chatterbox, those places were always damned, but I mean the rudeness started spreading to other parts of the forums. D: Especially the Lifestyle Discussion and Life Issues area.
Maybe it sucked harder to me because around 2011 was when I started having "symptoms" of "serious mental illness"... I didn't have any friends to talk to about it because I was homeschooled and when I tried to seek support on Gaia, I was met with disapproval and bullying.
I wasn't a perfect member, but I remembered having so much fun in Towns back in 08. Because of the bullying and constant times people told me to "just kill [myself]" I finally left Gaia in late 2011. By then, I had moved on to other forums, where the people were a lot nicer and more supportive. I think that was around the time I found Ernya.
Where Gaia told me that my art was "bad", Ernya helped me get better and encouraged me to continue drawing. One person from Ernya even said my art was so pretty that she used it to do pixel art.

I don't remember when I'd joined, it might've been around 07 or 08. I think I was in either high school or college? Might've been 08 since there were quite a few trolls already and I had the misfortune of meeting a few of them in threads and games and other places. So I try to avoid any serious discussions of any sort to avoid drawing them and just chatted with a few friends here and there.
I left because my main account was unjustifiably banned and I couldn't get it back despite months of trying because the admins were all dicks and useless. I looked up avatar forums and Mene popped up and here I've been ever since. (minus the whole hiatus from 2015 - 2018 )

I joined Gaia in November of 2003. I've been on and off the site due to the Navy taking me away on depleoyment,s but i've always gone back.
Every year... it changes. Every year, I find new respons to love the site.
Just like here on Mene, there are many people that make it worthwhile.
But the art community was primarily positive. Just stay AWAY from the chatterbox when posting art. You will get trolled to tears.
I always stuck to the critique forums honestly. And while sometimes a person giving a crituque was harsh, they seldom every were mean about it. Honesty, though painful to hear at times, really helped me grow as an artist. What helped the most was when a handful of Gaia artists took it upon themselves to mentor me. Everything from giving me tips, to making redline edits to show me mistakes, or simply telling me something looked bad and how I should fix it.
However I am also the type of person that ignores those that are negative just to be negative. It makes no sense to give those people my time... because if I focus on negative things, i'll become negative myself. So i've always chosen to let the bad roll off and focus on those hard things that can help me grow and become better or stronger.
Though now I am the DJ in as "RP Club" located in Gaia's Chatterbox and it's amazing. Though the creator is very strit with the rules and loves to block idiots that don't listen to the rules.

Hmm. Maybe I caught the art forum at a bad time?
When I first joined Gaia, I posted a little in the art discussion forum and they were supportive. I can take constructive criticism well. Even as a middle school kid...
But my main focus on Gaia was RP. I would RP on the slots at first, then eventually I moved on to RPing in the forums.
It was around 2010/2011 when I decided to go back to the art discussion forum, and that was prompted by someone outright telling me that my art was "bad". I was met with hostility and rudeness in the art discussion forum. I still remember the member who was telling me that my art sucked and I would never make money or a career out of art... I don't know if he changed his name or not, but his username was Pablo Picasso. Ironic.
I definitely believe there is a difference between being critical and being cruel.
I wouldn't have been as discouraged if the person who said my art was "bad" had given me tips to improve. They basically just said, "Your art is bad :(" and left it like that. And the Picasso-asshole said, "You're not creative. Your art sucks and you will NEVER be a professional artist".
Sure, I could have proved them wrong, but the opposite happened... Now, every time I start to draw something, I hear their "voices" telling me that my art is bad. That no one would ever buy my art and that I should just give up.
I've tried to draw a little since then, but it's never been as good.
I've since lurked on Gaia and noticed that it's a lot nicer there now... But I still don't return to Gaia because of the toxicity I experienced there in 2010-2011. :(
I guess you could say don't let a few "spoiled apples ruin the bunch", but at that point it was pretty clear that you can't compare loose fruits in a box to people, when it's not the "loose fruits" that's the problem.. It's the tree's poison roots.
From what I've seen though, I think Gaia has gotten nicer. But I will not log in (if I can even remember my login info!) any time soon.
