To be honest I don't know what a loom is but it sounds complicated!

I should get my laptop out instead of posting from phone.
These are some looms (front: infinity/"s" loom, middle: 28" knitting board, back left to right: sock loom, large gauge 31 peg loom, large gauge 24 peg loom)

That infinity loom, that's one of those ones for making blankets right? Is that one hard to use?

Actually, I had some thingymajig when I was a kid that was like.. a very small automatic one of those. Youd thread the thread through and twist the bottom and it would come out hopefully not knotted haha.

It's definitely great for blankets. The inside curves can be a bit tricky to maneuver depending on the stitch you're using, but I like it. And once you get the hang of the inner curves, it's pretty easy.

Why is it curved? Is there a benefit?

A stitch witch!
Yes!

Oooh! I have actually seen kits that have that type! I want to get one for making blanks for dying striped yarns eventually, but the high quality ones are kind of expensive.

It's more compact and easier to use than a rectangular configuration.
I'll see if I have the comparison photo I took to show my Facebook friends.

Ahh an investment then?

Ahh okay, that makes sense. I thought it had to be like that for some reason haha.

I've never seen a loom that looked like that before!

I was always used to be big, clunky things you see in Victorian pictures and before...

I would love to have a weaving loom some day. They are so expensive though.

Here we go! Both of these are 198 pegs and 1/2" gauge.

I'm going to say those are probably weaving looms instead of knitting looms.
And they are still large and bulky and I want to learn that too, but they generally cost close to $500 for just a cheap small one.

Oh yes. I was actually really happy when I found the infinity loom. Although Shade is mad because now he can't nap in the middle of the loom.
