no, there was a kid that had slid down a 30+ft cliff, into a creek, and we ended up having a rescue.
but that isn't why i am upset right now. i've had a long drying day, both yesterday and today. my mom had a stroke yesterday, and after i got to the hospital i found out that she has had several small strokes over the past week. and that they think the "big one" is still yet to come. i'm so stressed and worried about losing her. i lost my dad just over 4 years ago. I don't think I can handle losing my mom as well.

Oh my goodness. Did she not tell you about the mini strokes or did she not know? My dad had been really sick for a little bit and then he had a stroke and lost the vision in his right eye. Have all about given up and then something turned around and he just started being himself again. He still drives with only one eye and he's terrible on the road. But, he's himself again so keep the faith. Keep letting her know that you love her and you still need her and that's probably the very best medicine. I'll keep her and you and your family in my prayers. And I'm so very glad that the kids aren't rescued. And wow, right? I'd rather a tantrum or terrible weather weekend.

Where was the cliff that the kid slid down?
I hope that your mom recovers and you have years left to spend with her.
Talk to her a lot and remind her of things you still want to do together with her...but mostly tell how much she is loved.

So my mom is out of the hospital now. and the dr's no longer think another stroke is on the immediate horizon.
and the kid. we were up in the mt's. having a snow day for cub scouts, and some kids were playing close to a steep edge, most of which was walk-able, if slowly. well one slid down and dropped down a 5 ft cliff, that was at the bottom of the steep edge, and into a creek. it took 10-15 grown men to get him up from the drop off, and back up the edge. but he was saved, and then my family decided it was time to take off, i didn't need my kids sliding down as well.

Oh I'm so glad she's out of the hospital and that another stroke is an imminent. Did they say what to do to help her? Is she going to be staying with you? Do you live close by? Sorry for the questions I'm kind of nervous. I got a call from my mom that my dad was in the hospital. Well it really wasn't so much a call as a screaming. It's understandable she's just out of the hospital like ten days with hip replacement surgery. So she's very upset but not the way to be woken up and told about your father...

Oh that's so good she doesn't live alone. And also that you're so close. I hope she's recovering quickly and feeling much better now.
Thank you. He's still in hospital and they still don't know what's wrong. I don't like to be negative about anything but I'm feeling very frustrated. It feels like they're just running as many tests as hisin insurance will cover. And he's starting to sound very frail and tired of being there. And I don't think that helps him recover at all.

i've been so busy lately i haven't been able to get online. easter was ok. nothing too spectacular. and no, i don't get to keep my job at babies r us. all of the stores for both babies r us and toys r us are closing down. we were originally told may 14th but some stores will be open until the end of june. it is really frusterating, because it is a job i really enjoy. but there is nothing i can do about it so i'm just going with the flow.

yeah that is not the case. we are told that our last day is to be about June 30th. however it really depends on a bunch of stuff. such as if we sell out of everything then there is no job for us. it also depends on the liquidation company. they get to choose how often prices are reduced, and what items go on sale, and how much they go on sale.right now everything in the store just changed prices for the first time since the liquidation started. it started out that everything was up to 30% off. however diapers, wipes, formula, and a few other items were not included in any sales. and the only thing that was 30% off was the greeting card area. now its up to 40% off. but still the greeting cards are the only thing that much. the gear, high chairs, car seats, swings, strollers, is 15%, the furniture is 20%, bedding is 20% toys, for the most part is 20% clothes is 25%, diapers and such is now 5%. so sales are still lower at the moment, and it is all out of our hands.

Why does this house keep smelling like bacon when nobody has cooked bacon? It doesn't even smell like the good bacon!
There is no such thing as bad bacon unless it's bacon that has gone bad, but I prefer the bacon you buy raw over the bacon that's all cooked and just has to be microwaved once. They smoke flavor it and that's nasty. You can't smell the smoke flavoring, but that is the bacon smell in this house.
I wonder if it would taste like that if they didn't use the stupid smoke flavoring… Maybe I'd like it as much as the raw bacon.

Back about 40 years ago my best friend's family got their first microwave...
I had spent the night and my friend cooked raw bacon in the microwave, placed between several layers of paper towels.
It was delicious. ..crispy, no rubbery fat...it was perfect!
I have never been able to duplicate the process so I just cook bacon in a pan on the stove.

I'd say I've never eaten bacon that wasn't microwaved, but I eat bacon at a restaurant that definitely isn't microwaving their bacon, and I had some raw bacon that sister cooked on the stove and it was absolutely delicious. She called it "real bacon" and said I'd never had real bacon.
Yes, you put the raw bacon strips in folded paper towels and microwave them over and over until cooked to the point you want. I don't watch what my momma does as she microwaves bacon since we were taught to stay out of the kitchen when she's cooking, but I hear the microwave start and stop a lot and the smell of bacon slowly fills the house. There are probably instructions on the package.

There are a few methods available using google to search Microwaving Bacon.
I will have to try the bowl method for cooking bacon in the microwave.
