I saw a new psychiatrist today :D
She was nice and she knew a lot about schizophrenia.
I think she's transgender, so I want to call her, "they/them", but everyone calls her, "she/her". She's really nice, though.

*looks out at the overcast sky through a rain-streaked window* One of those rare moments when you get to live an aesthetic. I love rainy days. The lighting of the sky makes me nostalgic.

Noooo, I don't like thunder and lightning! They scare me so much I'd rather sleep through storms… but my fear keeps me awake. I really like the rain, but thunder and lightning can stay out ma' face.

I've been questioning my gender identity for a long time and finally just settled on non-binary/genderqueer...not sure which is more appropriate, tbh
I wear a lot of mens clothes when I can because I'm just more comfortable in baggy pants and tshirts, but I also really love to wear dresses. lol
Also I just feel sortof strange about my body, its always been really...odd/off feeling to me and I've had dreams and stuff where i had the other 'parts' and was very happy but i still had my boobs...so idk
I'm fine enough as a "Female" but I think if it wasn't such a hassle I'd prefer to be they/them
but i don't mind being called she

I think folks r getting a little nuts on the subject. Male and female r physical descriptions.
Anyway. Everyones a little trans. It just a matter of how much.

Yeah, I don't think I'm weird for having 'odd' thoughts about my body but, like, yeah if i could have been born with a dick i'd probably be a bit happier. lol
but i'm OK as i am now

The way I see it, I don't care what gender/sexuality you identify as, as long as you're not a jackass and aren't using it as an excuse to do anything illegal ^^.
Or as an excuse for attention or to be "trendy". Those people annoy me.
Myself, I'm very much female. Tomboy, dressing in jeans and t-shirts all the time and possibly on the butch side, but I've never really felt as though I'm any gender other than female. Though that hasn't stopped me from wishing I could trade in the lady junk for the guy parts to get out of all the fun, lovely period times.....

For me I've always liked both guys and girls with a slight preference for girls. I never questioned my gender. When I was younger, I was all about the short goth ho skirts and all kinds of stockings from lace to fishnet.
I mostly avoid dresses these days unless it's like an occasion where it's expected. I've come to HATE pantie-hose (unless it's part of a costume). Which is odd because they used to be my favorite part of my goth look. Now, they're so annoying to wear, and I don't like the aesthetic of them. I guess because I gravitate to "adult" not fun styles.
lol my current bf would probably not appreciate the look. I do miss it though.

I'm glad that I like my new psychiatrist.
I've been feeling so bad lately because it felt impossible to get a good psychiatrist and therapist out here because of all the loops I have to jump through...
In Minnesota, after I was discharged from inpatient, literally within a few days after that, I saw a psychiatrist and therapist. But here, I've been home for about a month now and I'm [I[just now[/I] seeing a psychiatrist. :/
I mean, better late than never... but still!
I think the stress of having to find a psychiatrist and therapist out here was to blame for my recent hospitalization. :(

@ Ava: Believable. It'd be just a little bit nice if there was a universal rule about medical help and things (all medical things, both physical and mental) that applies to all states, rather than it changing depending on which state you're in (and sometimes even where you are in those states). It'd make it a helluva lot less of a headache for those of us who have to look for new doctors and therapists and psychiatrists when we move.

Amane is a blue version of a "Sharpay Evans," "Barbie," "Legally Blonde" girly girl with a liking for boys, but she doesn't want them to touch her. She just likes looking at them when they look nice. Girls can be pretty, but Amane doesn't freak out over them. Just boys.
This reminds me, I need to obtain a tiara or a few. My only tiara has been broken for years. I have mine eyes on glitter lotion as well.

I used to have insurance that crossed state lines because my brother had a job that he had to travel for, but I'm no longer on his insurance. :(
Now I only have insurance while I'm here and pay a ridiculous amount for anything out of state and out of network. :?

Illinois new medicaid thing is a whole load of bullcrap. Most of the doctors in Illinois are still waiting to get approved to be a part of the new medicaid setup, even now that the deadline's passed to be able to change your assigned PCP. Which, even though they say you can pick your own, they'll still assign you one...based on what I assume is someone shooting darts at a board while blindfolded.
For example: I live in one town, and I can't drive. Nor do I have anyone who can drive me out of town during the week, when most doctors have open hours. So rather than being assigned to the crappy hospital in town (FHN), I get assigned a PCP that's in a town that's an hour's drive away. And I have no way to get there. I call them and tell them this, because I want to change my PCP to the hospital I've been going to since I was a baby...aaannnd they aren't "in-network" yet, because they're still waiting for approval from the state. Same thing with my dentist. And optometrist. And the same goes for my friends.
My running theory is that when they opened up the new medicaid setup for people to sign up and choose their PCP, is also when they told the hospitals and therapists and everyone else in the medical community that they had to apply for permission to be in this new medicaid setup. Or later, I don't know...or a bunch of doctors lost a lot of regular patients because they weren't in the state database, and that's how they found out they had to ask the state.
As if I didn't need even more excuses to want to move out of Illinois....

That's insane. o-O Mine isn't too bad, but I think there aren't many options here for insurance, and most doctors here /don't/ take medicaid at all. If I went on medicaid (which I could) and stopped paying for my insurance, to see my psychiatrist and my gastroenterologist, I'd actually end up *spending more* because they don't take medicaid and I really like those doctors, they're the only ones who ever really listen to me. :(
Also I'd probably have to change medications too because doctors here who do medicaid, will only prescribe the cheapest generics, and I need specialty medications, sometimes "off label", and I've actually had to sue my insurance company already for coverage of those medications...so it would be money down the drain :| and i wouldn't get the treatment quality I'm getting now.

I'm just going to completely ignore Medicaid and just go to the doctors and clinics and hospitals I've been going to for years, cost be damned. I know I really shouldn't since I can't even afford food in my budget, but since I can't exactly walk out to a small town that takes an hour just to drive to...yeah, nope. I'll just have to suck it up and eat the cost because Illinois is stupid. I'd much rather pay more for treatment that I can get to, than fight off whatever mystery illness/injury on my own because I can't get to my assigned doctor.

Not sure about Illinois, but I think medical expenses are tax deductible in PA (depending on how you take deductibles). I know it sucks to pay out of pocket, but just keep track of what you're spending. Again, not sure on your filing status and system in IL but always good to keep receipts.
