Thank you Junebug! I know, it's sad. And it can be such a cute piercing at times. :)
Beautiful picture by the way!

Wow. You look like you're really tall, June.
And that picture turned out really nice. Cool bubble.

thanks! i'm not really tall, i'm about 5'6" or 5'7" which translates to average or longish, depending on the day, the angle, and the person i'm standing next to. maybe i'm just in denial, though.

Haha. Perhaps you just have long legs. I have a friend who is a few inches taller than me (i'm 5'5"), but she seems extra tall when she has shorts on because her legs are so long.

i do have long legs. my best friend is only 5'2", so it took a while for me to not feel beastly tall around her. sometimes it's a blessing and other times it's a curse.

Im 6'1" and at the thrash metal gig i was at on the weekend, i turned around at the bar and was looking at this blokes arm pit lol! Not very often that happens! He was literally a head and neck taller than EVERYONE at the gig. Later on in the night though, i saw a bloke that made HIM look small! This bloke was a a bit taller again, but he had much more bulk about him that the other fellow who was quiet slim. I felt puny in comparison lol!

@ June - Haha. Yeah, my best friend is about 5'2" or so, and my mom is even shorter than that. I feel average with my height, usually, but whenever either of those two have heels on or something to make them taller, it suddenly makes me feel shorter to have them at the same level as me. Like my mom had on some big boots today that made her my height, and it just felt so wrong.

my dad is over 6'5" (i'm not sure exactly how tall he is) so he also helps prevent me from feeling like godzilla in my house too. it's not too bad being tall, though, since i'm a climber and a sporty-ish girl. i also meet model height requirements by most standards.

Mhmm. So thats cool. :) I think women look pretty when they're taller. It kind of balances out things better, in my opinion.

My dad is about 6'3", and the guy i'm seeing is 6'2", so I feel a decent height, usually. :) I'm like right in the middle. Haha. Tall dad and short mom. My brother ended up tall, though. I have a friend that I'm pretty sure is 6'4", and his dad is 7'2"!! O_o;; That is crazy tall. Poor man has to duck under doorways.

I'm going to butt in and post a picture, because I just got a new tattoo this weekend that I've been yearning for for over a year, and I am thrilled with it! :D

It's Huginn and Muninn, Odin's ravens from the Norse mythology. I'm so happy with them I've seriously just been smiling ever since getting them done last Friday. :squee:

Thanks! They took four hours, two hours each, the biggest and most detailed tattoos I've had done yet. The beak and the tip of the tail/wing that goes down toward my armpit were the most painful parts by far, but I just kept thinking about the ear infection I got a couple of weeks back where I nearly fainted from pain to remind myself I've had much worse pain. :P Though now I am dreading the tattoo I have planned for my chest, since I've heard that can be quite a painful area, especially on the collarbones...

yeah collarbones are pretty painful considering its just skin over bone, same as the sternum where ive got mine done.

They look good though, nice work!

Think my one will probably go over the sternum as well.. hence the dread. :P But oh well, I won't be able to afford it for a while anyway, so no use worrying about it now!

Im in the same position with the one on my back actually. Its going to be painful over my spine, and its going to be FULL back piece. going to be MAJORLY expensive, and take at LEAST 5 sessions i think, but itll be SO worth it!

Haha yeah.. I'll probably get a back piece one day too, but I'm not in a hurry.. especially because it'll be so expensive! The ravens cost me about £350, and those were done by my partner's friend, so cheaper than usual! That's a whole month's rent for me! (Sooooo worth it though!)
What are you going to get on your back, if you don't mind me asking?

WOW! Thats about $550AU there ljos! I spent about that much alone for the colour piece on my chest, though i have to say, the colour work on that is pretty average. The other artist in the studio is going to do the next piece for me, hes a LOT better!

The next piece im wanting is going to be a combination of two different images, the first, in the middle of my back, will be an angel and a devil in a loving embrace, their wings out to each side and the light of heaven shining down and the fire of hell rising up. In the back ground, ill have an army of angels descending from the top right, and from the bottom left, an army of demons rising up to join in battle.

Ive got a LOT of people wanting to see this piece done, a friend is keen to do a photoshoot of it being done, and the artist himself is keen to do it too.

Im also working on designing two calf pieces with prolific ancient warriors and a text to go above them. THAT will be pretty epic too once its done. I think ive got the warriors that i want picked out, its just a matter of having them drawn up as id like them now.

On top of that, im toying with getting some twisted versions of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse done maybe. Still not sure about that one yet. Thinking ill leave it til im certain.

Those ideas sounds wicked, I'd love to see them when they're done, whenever that will be. :P What kind of ancient warriors are you thinking? It's a pretty open definition depending on where in the world you're thinking..
Your back piece reminded me a bit of the back piece my partner has.. it's this image from Paradise Lost, done by the same artist that did my ravens.. the shading is just gorgeous and it covers most of his back.
I'm going to stick to a spiritual/mythological/symbolic theme with my tattoos.. apart from the ravens I have an ankh on my inner forearm and the symbol of eternity in the nape of my neck.

Well, the demon and angel piece will be done with THIS image, and the army pieces will be done with THIS piece. The images are only low res because of photobucket size limits, but the originals and prints i have are much bigger. Its still going to have to be blown up rediculously bigger to go on my back though.

The piece on my calves with the ancient warriors will feature predominant warriors to fit the piece of writing "Civilize the mind, but make savage the body."
Im getting that split into two sections, under 'Civilize the mind' im getting a Japanese Samurai, Chinese Shaolin Monk, American Apache Chief, and possibly a Myan or Incan warrior, ive got to finalise these exactly. Under the other piece, 'Make savage the body', I shall put a Norse Viking, Roman Centurian, English Knight and possibly a Spartan Warrior, though again, with the Roman Centurian there, i think the similar styles would clash, and i dont want it to look like cliche or something by getting a spartan either. I may end up just going with three warriors on each leg instead of four though, but as i said, itll take time to get it fixed in my mind exactly what i want and where.

Ooooh I love the designs for the demon/angel! Very nice, hope you have a talented tattoo artist to get all the details! And the warrior thing sounds very nice as well, will it be like sleeves (do you call it that when it's on the legs?) or them standing in a row around your leg? Just trying to picture it, sounds good anyway. :D

these all sound amazing. @[email protected]

i wish i could properly pull off body mods, i love them, and nobody knows i love them because i can't participate in the conversation without seeming out of place. i used to want to become a tattoo artist, but i don't even have a small, personal tattoo or any major piercings or anything.

i went to the store today. it was a rough job, but somebody's gotta do it.

edited because nose studs totally don't count these days.

Looks like you had fun. xD Judging from this picture though, I'd say you could definitely pull of body mods. Could easily see you having piercings in ear/nose/eyebrow, possibly lip and tattoos definitely, if it's the right design for you.
I really want more ear piercings, and I need to pierce my lip again as it healed overnight. e____e Been missing it a fair bit, so I think I should do it again, even if it did sometimes get in the way..

That's one that was taken a few days ago. I kind of look like crap in it since I haven't slept in a while and it shows. I also am dressed kind of girly too. XD

well, i probably should've worded it better. i do have a nose piercing, a little ickle bitty stud. i don't usually think twice about it, it's not something that sticks out as a modification to me, just a little detail. even my uber-conservative grandma thinks it's cute.

my favourite piercings are usually the more dramatic ones, like septums, labrets, and dermals. i've secretly always wanted a smiley, too. i think if i do have anything done, i'm going to pierce my neck. my friend is a piercer and she has a poster hanging up in her studio of a lady with dermals in a large spiral on her chest, starting at her neck and going down close to her cleavage. it looks amazing, i always stare at it, haha.

you're such a qt, mystic! i don't think you look like crap.
