Oh Australia :(
So far away from England. I want to go! D:
Actually I really want to go to the Eden Project. its several giant greenhouses full of exotic and tropical plants and stuff, i went when i was 8/9/10 (idk which) it's in Cornwall, England.
I know :D it was completely unintentional, but not much of a coinsidence seeing as I LOVE purple. My room is purple.
I'm going to take my car for a spin up to Tesco later to get some sugar to bake with but I haven't decided what I'm baking yet. I seriosly have so much love for my car. O_O
You have a Bugley I had one, years ago...it didn't run, it needed lots of work. The intention was for the work to be done while I learnt to drive, so once I'd passed my test it would be road-worthy. But that never happened. The guy I was with at the time, we bought a house, and there's was no money then for making the Beetle all better, so it went to the scrappies
I kept the key though; it's still on my keyring, 12 years later, I won't throw it away . My Beetle did get on the 2000 Beetle census though, for ones that had made it to that year
I have never heard of it being a bugly?? O_O
But I know in the US it gets called a Bug all the time and sometimes in the UK, whereas its actually a Beetle. :P
infact it should be pronounced "folksvaarhgan" instead of Volks Wagon because its german,. I used to pronounce it properly until people teased me over it :(
Ooh a 1972 is that? Nice, mines a '71. mine needed a lot of work, my dad bought it for my birthday (allong with insurance too, i have never been so spoilt in all my life!! :O ) and then he just fixed it untill i could drive it, i passed my exam back in january but couldn't drive it until recent because he was working on it its road legal now :) So i can drive it around but I haven't driven it muc i only like to drive it if i actually need to because fuel is so daarn expensive.
I'm only 18 :3 apparently I look adorable in my little car.
I just turned around in my seat, HOLY MOLEY that rain :O I should be used to it by now but its like powchapow
Also:
I always called mine a bugley, that name just sort of happened
You know, apparently Porsche seats fit perfectly in Beetles, because the chassis is the same size. Though them having the original leather seats is part of the charm for me. I miss mine and still feel very very bad about it being scrapped. The engine ended up in another Beetle (the engine ran just fine, it was a bunch of other stuff that didn't). But still... my baby :c

its a cute name.
Yeah I can image that, I have seats from a metro because I wanted head restraints. No whiplash for me TYVM!! :D
but the back seat is orriginal (it might be froma different beetle though, idk)
my engine is a 1300 :( but it still goes really well although first gear is useless :'D it goes 2mph and then it starts screaming at your for second and you're like "sheesh let me cancle the indicator first? Ohhh looordy." (my indicators wont self cancel)
But this is all the charms, the little quirks where it doesn't quite work right and you ahev to drive it a certain way makes you feel special like you are the only one who can drive your car.
but my car actually has central locking and electric windows ;) the electroc windows were made by my dad who put a mechanism behind the orriginal windy window handle so when you push the window down it goes down.
and the same for up
Oh he does. We all know he bought my car for more than just my happiness and how cool i look in it. He loves fixing old cars we have a VW camper van too and we used to have a Type 3 Fastback too. It was weird that my car was bought in the purple colour because its the exact same paint my dad had his sprayed to about 12 years ago! O_O he had to sell it off for parts because it just decayed too much and he couldn't fix it up anymore :( (this was about 3-4 years ago)
I drew a picture. C: It looks better in real life, but whatever. I'm pretty proud of it. This is the first time I've attempted to colour in something. C:
Awww, now im getting all nostalgic about my first car, my old 1 tonner ute! :(
Hated this thing as much as i loved it. Pulled the engine and gearbox out with my old man, reconditioned it all and put it back in. Later on i replaced the rims to what are on it in the pic, changed the gearbox over for a different one, replaced the rear diff for a different ratio one, and had some MASSIVE plans for its future.
Sadly, it was stolen and burnt out one night. Was saddened by this, but glad that the thieves did it when they did, and not later, because id planned to spend about $5K on doing up the interior with a custom dash, new gauges, sound components, redoing the seats, colour theme the entire piece, so yeah, was glad it happened before i sank that sorta cash into it!
My next car i want to get, will be the same sort of car again. I love them too much!
