Yeah, risking death isn't worth it for alcohol. @ [email protected] I tend to be very shy, nervous, and have even had panic attacks just from standing in a bar before. So something to help me loosen up a lil is very appreciated.
I'm 5'4", the photo was just being taken by my very tall boyfriend.
And I love my bottle. It complements well my sparkly glitter skull.

You're so petite.
@ Steel - I don't pay attention to calories I probably should to prepare for when my metabolism drops, though. I try to tell myself that all the time, but I really love to eat, and mainly like junk food.
|
Heh, my metabolism has never been kind to me. My genetics are all working stock. Native American, German, Irish, English....and all lower to mid class. The kind that has to work hard and can survive on very little. I love food and hate manual labor, so it's not a good mix.

Haha, yeah, not worth it at all. Luckily, while I'm definitely an introvert, I am also a fantastic performer and will happily be the center of attention for a few hours.

I meant in your frame. You're a good size. :)
I'm 5'5", and my boyfriend is really tall too <3
@ steel - I'm all those except Native American. All European. I have a broad structure from it too. Thick legs, huge rib cage, way too broad of shoulders. I just have a fast metabolism that keeps me from putting on excess weight. I'm always hungry, though, and rarely workout.
Yeah, lifestyle changes are one of the best ways to help with weight.

I swear to god my body would gain weight on stone soup. But yeah. I'm not gonna lose any weight without a lifestyle change.

Yeah, I think that's so unfair :(
A lot of people have a small hatred towards me because I eat endlessly and don't gain weight, but I think it's really unfair for those that barely eat and still gain weight. I wish I could share a little bit of my metabolism with them to help them out. It's kind of irritating having a fast metabolism, too, because I'm always hungry. I have to eat so much. I eat more food than my 6'2" boyfriend does!

Aww, well, thank you. I'm glad you would help me out if you could! :)
I actually have to go on a crash diet right now. I'm performing with the belly dance class in the Fine Arts Festival on April 13th. The shirts we're wearing...mine is a little tight in the arms. I need to be able to move. So I need to lose a teeny bit of weight really really fast. It's not healthy, but it's necessary.
The tops are like this, only black and made entirely of non stretchy cotton:

Oooh, and they're from India, where they apparently don't understand boobs. So, about 1/2 of my bra is gonna show no matter what. I kind of just want to go with a red bra and pretend that I wanted it to do that. But black would probably be better, try to blend it.
Lucky I'm not terribly self conscious!

And you all have to wear those shirts? That doesn't seem right to make it so difficult to wear, or so that it doesn't cover your breasts properly. They should realize there are different body types. There are many women with large breasts and I find there are a lot of clothing companies that don't really take that into consideration.

Well, the problem is, I'm pretty much the only one in the class that's going to have an issue. All the other girls are kinda...pixies. I just don't see trying to change everything for just me. Most of our bellydance costuming has to be internet ordered, so you don't really know how it's gonna fit until you get it.

Well, normally we would work through it more, but this is all pretty last minute. And I was out of town when the costumes had to be ordered. I'm sure if I made a big stink about it, my teacher would try to work something out, but I just don't see how that's going to help anything.

Can you let the seams out? Or maybe unpick the seam on the sleeves and add another strip of black cotton? Same for the boob coverage, add more material along the front edges?
A bit of needlework has to be preferrable to crash dieting which might not help with the sleeves fitting anyway, and is going to do way more damage than it is good. Particularly to your metabolism if that's already slow.
Are you actively doing anything to boost your metabolism? I know eating habits can help with turning that around.

I agree with Jelly
Trying to alter the clothing would be much better than attempting a crash diet, which is not good at all for you body

I thought about that first. The material is crazy thin and weird, I have no ability to match it at all, and to be honest, I'm not sure I wouldn't destroy it just letting out a seem. And there is no excess at the seems to let out anyway. I'm basically just dropping carbs for a couple of weeks. It's gonna be a bitch, but it will take down any swelling I have, and since I'm not fond of meat, I'm going to be incidentally cutting a crapton of calories.

Ok, cutting carbs for just a couple of weeks sounds reasonable. Just keep your fluid intake up, as your body retains water if you're just the mildest bit dehydrated. So keeping up with drinking a little and often to get and then keep yourself fully hydrated will help prevent that.
Kind of crazy that you could drop a couple of pounds just be making sure you drink enough and in the right way; like not a load at once so all you do is pee a lot. ><

Oh yeah, I'm a water drinker. Although, I usually have two sodas a day and I won't be having that, so I'll need to add two more waters. The sodas are going to be miserably hard for me to drop. But yeah. The idea is just to loosen things up a tiny bit. There is no way the boobs are going to be fully covered, but my bra showing is not as huge of a deal in belly dance, so I'm just gonna deal with that. It's not that there isn't enough material there to cover them, it's that it's not in the right places. And trying to move it around would involve insanity.

The tops being completely non-stretchy seems like a dumb move, to me. o.o
Have you tried flavoured waters instead of soda? The pretty ones that people make themselves?
55 Homemade Flavored Water Recipes | Its Jello!
These you can sweeten each glass yourself, and they'll only need a spoonful or so of sugar. Compared to the sugar that's in soda... Unless you have sugar-free soda, but then that's full of horrible chemicals.

I have, like, zero willpower. Buuut....I can have strawberries on this diet. Aaand, I have a water bottle that lets me put fruit in the center of it to infuse the water. THANK YOU! That gave me a brilliant idea!

That sounds good, doesn't it? I'd have thought leaving the scraped vanilla pod in the water would increase the flavour, too. Though maybe better value for money to bury it in your sugar jar.

Dropping soda is a great way to lose weight, too. People often don't realize just how very bad it is for you. I avoid it as much as possible. Really the only time I have soda is when I get a sudden craving for carbonation. But I know a friend that will gain and lose a lot of weight in between his soda kicks. He quit for quite some time because he was working on a farm and got nice and fit, and as soon as he came back he started drinking way too much soda and gained a lot of weight back. He walks a lot, too, so it wasn't from not doing work, either.
And yeah, like jelly said, diet soda is even worse for you! It can cause so many bad things to your body. :( It's honestly better to drink regular soda, or find healthier drinking alternatives.
Same goes for beer. Beer is extremely fattening. I feel bad for girls my age that are slim and then have a big beer gut
