you know, I have no problem with movie conflict the first time I watch a movie, but when I go back and watch it again, it does upset me because the conflict is usually over something really stupid. So stupid, it's usually embarrassing for me to watch it happen when it should have been so easy to avoid ...

  • Hahaha... interesting. Well... they bother me every time I watch them. Not necessarily because they're easy to avoid or silly or whatever (after all, who doesn't find themselves in a conflict over something little sometimes) but because it's just so bothersome that they came up. Things bother me that they even exist, you know? In real life, too.

well, I took "movie conflict" to be the point in the plot of the movie that caused the tension to begin with that caused the rest of the events in the movie to unfold ... like (please don't shoot me, I have a 6 year old) in the Disney movie Cars, that whole scene where Lightening McQueen tells Mac that he'll stay up with him all night but then falls asleep and then ends up falling out of the truck and can't find Mac and then wrecks the town and has to go to court ... that whole sequence is painful for me to watch because it was one stupid mistake after another. And the things the characters said to create the tension between them ... youch ... but that may not be what she was talking about ...

  • I love that movie... and yes, that's what I meant when I referred to "movie conflict". And the series of events that follows until the conflict is resolved. And that whole sequence bothered me in the theatre >.<.

thank you!! I'm so glad it wasn't just me!! just, every time Lightening would say something hurtful I just cringed!!

Have you ever read the Clan of the Cave Bear series (Earth's Children) by Jean Auel? There is constant conflict in there between the characters that could have been resolved so simply if the characters had only been honest about how they felt about each other instead of assuming how the other felt and trying to keep their own feelings hid.

The book was alright.

I don't know if it's conflict as much as it is plot.
Ah well.

I didn't like that movie, Cars. I thought it was ridiculous, and I watched it while babysitting. Then again, I'm more for the noir and subtitled foreign films these days.

  • Aw, yeah, that's one thing that really bothers me is when it's like... say it's like a boyfriend who got into a bit of something with another woman... accidentally even, maybe, but he wont be honest about it because he's afraid to be and then it turns into something bigger and he keeps lying, but that only makes him look more suspicious, and rather asinine, so even if he wouldn't have been in trouble originally he gets in big trouble and maybe she breaks up with him just because he was a little panicky. >.<.

that's it right there!! yes!! I mean, you can still have the story, like the books I mentioned earlier, because there is still the couple meeting and falling in love and then traveling to his homeland, without having the misunderstanding about who loves who so very very often.

And watching stuff like Law & Order or whatever and just ... if those people had just stayed there instead of running, and told the truth to begin with, the law wouldn't have had to come down on them so hard.

I tried shoplifting when I was about 15. For me, it was because I was so angry at my parents. They had made me mom of the house, I had all these responsibilities, but I didn't have any of the privilages. Aside from parenting my parents, older brother, and younger sister, I also had to work and give my money to my parents to help pay the bills. So I'd get mad and steal things I wanted because I thought I deserved to have them. After about the 3rd time, my sister tried to mimic me and we got caught and I never stole again.

  • Interesting... I'm sorry to hear that about you though, I'm the baby of my family >.<.

I'm talking about the "I'm bored, you wanna steal something?" There are people who really do that just to steal things even if they don't want them x3.

I don't like shop lifting in real life. That's just wrong and stupid. How ever, I play a thief on a different avatar based forum. She doesn't do do it because she wants to, or because it's a thrill(whether it is or isn't) She does it because it her job and because it if she doesn't she would have to do something else and she isn't good at anything else( Not like she's really good at stealing either(XD)) But it's just a game, doing it in real life is... yeah, stupid. ( Not like I mean your stupid Crazy.)
