yeah, the thing is, most of those people that steal out of boredom or whatnot, have the money in their pockets to pay for what they stole. They should be flogged.

I played a theif once in an RP ... it was scads of fun!!! In those games though, it's like a job, and there are usually really good reasons why you are being sent after a certain object. It's really just questing ... with lockpicks ...

The one kind of theft that pisses me off is art theft.
There's a person on Gaia who takes other people's photos and blatantly traces/paints over them and sells them as her own work.
A friend discovered that and pointed it out to me, I found it pretty awful, especially since I talked to the person before and kinda respected her and her "art".

the best part about RPing in a forum with a thief, is that you can totally NPC the victom and what you steal and if there are consequences or not or RP it against another person and see if they even notice or not as you steal their things.

Yeah, especially when they go "It's just photos"...
As if photography wasn't an art form too!

She's on my friendslist...so I would feel awful.
I wish I never found out in the first place... however! My friend reported her, but so far nothing has happened.
Gaia has become way to big for the mod/admin team to handle... some people get away with the craziest stuff there.

the art theft is insane! I hope people like that are toruted by their guilt!!

when I make an icon or something, it is usually a lot more than just cropping a picture, there is coloring involved and letters and sometimes animation ... but still, photography is art, I know, I take my photos too.

Aurilia: Ahh I can understand you not reporting her, Some of my old friends( I barely knew them) would send out chain letters and I didn't have the heart to report them.

Yeah, it's such an unpleasant situation...

I rarely see these people feel guilt...except for one time, where some girl had entered an art contest, and her entry was a clear paintover, badly concealed. She retracted her entry and publicly apologized. I found that admirable.

cropped photos for icons are ones that I put up for grabs because anybody could do that. And when I make an icon similar to another one because I like what it said and the pose but not the coloring or cropping, I always give the other person credit for the idea.

as long as a person is bold enough to fess up and honestly is sorry and honestly will never do it again ... I admire the person a bit. It's easy to lie and cheat, but hard to be a good person. That is why so many people are evil ... it's easier.

people that can on purpose inflict pain on another person or animal just sicken me! I don't WANT to understand how or why they can do it! It's just sick and wrong and needs to stop! Because if we get into the mind of these people and start finding reasons and explanations, then we become mere steps away from excusing it! And that should NEVER happen!!
