They let you leave to go to a going away party?

• Today was only just a practice day thingy to really just show us how it'll be like in basic training and what we'd learn and such.

• This party was planned, and well it would be rather upsetting if I didn't make it back on time to my aunties and uncles and cousins if I was late to my own darned party.
  
  Besides, it was just an optional thing to help me be semi ready for basic... They could just let us all go uninformed and just take basic as basic is, and not know what the heck I'm doing for a while.
