I was in the Regular Army (Infantry).

It's the reserves that are getting hit the hardest right now. Most of the soliders in Iraq right now are from the reserves. Only way I would join the army is if I got the job my cousin was offered which was to work in intelligence since he graduated from West Point with an award for languages. But the moron decided he liked to play with tanks more. Silly thing is he was offered a better job then what he originally wanted.

I also wouldn't be able to do anything near a battle. I can see it already... "You go over there and get shot and take out a few people too." (Me) "No way! I'm going that way! It's safer!" *runs all the way back to the nearest plane back to America.*

As you can tell I'm kinda anti military. I support the soldiers themselves. Just hate how a lot get treated badly by the miltary. If we were in war such as WWII and were fighting against a monster like Hitler then I would be more supportive. I admit Sadam wasn't a good person, but he is a pushover compaired to what others have done.

• I know about with the 20k or so troops being the reserves. But on the news I've heard that they stopped sending anyone in and just leaving whoever's there, and taking them out slowly. But then this war is senseless, and will last at least 5 years more.
  
  It's funny, they always when you sgn up for it they give you something way better than what you originally want. Although with the job I got, I'm not going right in the middle of the war, I'll be slightly off to the side. I've gotten into communications. And yeah I'll be working some sort of radar or computer type thing.

Thank you. I was wanting to be a mechanic and stationed in Japan but I guess it wasn't in the cards.

Yeah... Although because of the huge mistakes made in the begining. So I doubt it would end so soon, though it would be nice.

• It is making this country look like idiots because we have such an ignorant president that graduated from yale with C's, and the only reason he got into presidency is because of his daddy. All that money that's supposedly going to the military is a bunch of bullshit though, it's too much money for something that doesn't need that that much.
