Ah, last night, I finally got around to seeing "No Country For Old Men", and I quite enjoyed it. It reminded me a lot of a Hitchcock-type plot gone horribly wrong - everything begins when a man out hunting comes across the aftermath of a drug-related shoot-out, and manages to find the money involved, but soon ends up with someone after him in order to get the money back. However, instead of some bumbling gangster, the antagonist is a cold, deadly-serious psychopath killer. All the characters involved have very cut-and-dry, simple dialogue, but what they say is very potent. It's a film about the nature of crime and the nature of killing, and how both have changed. It's about change in general, what started it, and what place those who long for the "old days" have in it, if any at all.

If you're looking for a movie with a really solid plot, I would not recommend this one. It requires a lot of attention, and I was definitely not satisfied with the ending. I think, however, that the ending itself was part of the point it was trying to make as well. No one really knows what the future holds. Also definitely not a movie for those with weak stomachs, however I will say that the violence is not made out to be the spectacle in this movie. I can see why it got so many Oscar nominations. Easily a 9/10 or more.

Last movie I went to see was Across The Universe, I think. I like musicals, and the Beatles, so I knew it'd be satisfactory. 9.5/10

I was going to be dragged to see 27 Dresses last Sunday, but weather canceled the outing.

Edit: Wait! I did see Charlie Bartlett, which I liked... they didn't have it in any of the theaters up here, but I did watch it with a friend...who and how I cannot disclose, but it was an awesome movie. I recommend it. 9/10

One of the funniest slap-stick comedies I've ever seen.

I just went and saw Fool's Gold last weekend. I give it a solid 4 out of 5. It was really very funny and the Caribbean feel that you got from it was nice. The only downfall was the annoying girl who was supposed to be like Paris Hilton. Sometimes she was funny but most of the time I was just annoyed by her but maybe that is because I'm not a Paris Hilton fan.

Dan in Real Life and Sweeney Todd

Dan in Real Life would be 3/5 for me. Its just a typical feel good movie that had its funny moments but nothing I would watch again.

Sweeney Todd gets 4/5 for me. Where in the world would you get Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter to sing! Its a gothic, disturbing movie by Tim Burton that left me twitching in my seat. Sascha Cohen was funny in his usual way too!

I saw Atonement, and it was a FANTASTIC movie. I really think a the movie trailers didn't do it justice -- I certainly would not describe this movie first and foremost as a romance, which the trailers I saw were doing. That description made it a little awkward to be going to see it with my dad! Thankfully, it turned out to be more of a war movie than a romance, and that our favorite genre.

The quality of the film was simply superb. The lighting and color were masterful and enhanced the mood of the scenes in a subtle yet effective manner. The production designer and director definitely conveyed the right emotions with the choices they made. I really need to see who the DOP was and take a look at any other movies s/he has done, I don't think I've been so impressed with a DOP's work in a movie for a long time!

But the thing that left me breathless after the movie was the way the whole movie plot was constructed. It's not an easy thing to condense a life into a movie, but they did it quite successfully in this one. I don't think there was a single scene misused -- big kudos to the director and editor. In a way the scope was vast, in a way it was small, and in both senses it was very effective.

Go see this film for the terrific production values. Love it for the amazing construction of the timeline and plot. I'd give Atonement 5/5.

Ugh. I just saw one tonight.

That new... Jumper one? About the guy who can "Jump" anywhere in the world he wants? And then he gets into some trouble with the other...good/bad guys that don't like the jumpers? xD;;<3 Haha. <3

I didn't like it. At all. -___- It was a waste of my time and SO not worth the money I paid for it. D:~ </3

The ending sucked arse; though it does diffently forshadow a movie number two. The plot was a bit wonky; there are things that just seem like it 'jumped' into it (excuse my pun), in other words, there were scenes that was as if it was put in there on a whim because it couldn't fit anywhere else. And we never really DID get the ending of ONE of the semi-main characters. -___-

Oh, and I SERIOUSLY hated the main male character's voice. D:~ REALLY sucked that he narriated most of the story. --shrugs-- it really seemed like it didnt' take much acting potential to come out with this one. D:~

I was interested at first because of the prevews. Now I feel bad because I didn't get what I thought I'd get. D:~ </3

Overall, I'd give it a 2/5. I'd go lower, but there were the occasional points.

I just saw Sweeney Todd. Very well done movie.

I love the dark and yet sweet feelings to Tim Burton's movies. All the atmosphere was appropriately disgusting... and the actors I thought really worked well together. It felt like you were seeing an enhanced theatre production, which I appreciated. I'd not seen the original version of Sweeney Todd, but this is the way that I like my musicals. :)

The music was gorgeous. Of course, not everyone could sing so well-- but the melodies were so good that I didn't really care about someone hitting the perfect note.

Overall Rating: 9.9/10 (not quite enough blood for my taste, but all in all very awesome)

Last movie I saw was The Butterfly Effect, 2 days ago. I had already seen it. I enjoyed it alot. A very nice psychological mindtwister. Though, I watched it with people who saw it for the first time. At the beginning they told me they didnt think they could get into it very well, afterall Ashton Kutcher plays the main character in a serious movie. But they all liked it in the end though.

The last movie I had seen, that I DID see for the first time, was Paprika. I saw it about 4 days ago. Its an anime about a device that can manipulate dreams. This device gets stolen, and the whole world ends up dreaming. A psychologist and a cop try to save the world.

I just got back from seeing The Spiderwick Chronicles. It was really cute. The effects were done well and that Freddie Highmore kid still impresses me when I see him. Overall about a 4 of 5.

I just came back from seeing the movie "Definitely, Maybe". I thought it was a really well thought out and unique storyline for a romantic comedy movie. Lately this genre of movies have been pumping out the same used story after another one. But this one is really inspirational and sweet.

On the plus, the little girl in the movie isn't too sappy or girly. I really like her character.

If you like romantic comedy movies, I would see Definitely, Maybe!

The last movie I saw was Pretty Woman, you know the one with Julia Roberts. I give it a 9 1/2 out of 10 because I love Julia's acting and I absolutely love this movie ( even though I have never seen it before last night).
