I do not think we should pull out of this war because it is doing good for Afganistan. I mean, without this war girls would still have to wear this armour like face net, sort of like a scuba suit head. They would still have no choice on who they marry. I mean I, 13, may have to marry and 80 year old guy and have no say whatsoever! And there would be no running water in the cities. There would be no electricty! Troops have brought all this back! There would be no schools for most common folk. People would still be shot in the street for showing their faces or ankles. (Girls Only!)
On the other hand, all this hullaboloo about this war is sickening! Everyone just wants to kill others! It is unheallthy! If we didn't go into this war, all wouls be peacfull on our side of the world! There is so much killing and so much blood it is mad! War is crazy!
I also hate that the media only focuses on the bad stuff like the killing! Have you ever seen a newscast where they said, "And our troops in Afganistn accomplished so much today! The electricty is back in most place and there is running water too! Girls are becoming more free by the minute!" Or something like that? I Havent!

We shouldn't impose morals on others. Whats wrong with people wearing hijabs and such, its their tradition, their culture.
About the other stuff.. people should understand that culture came to the land first, then religion.
The war is just so stupid its never been funny.

No way.
You can't make war seem good in any way.
War is bad and it should be STOPPED.
If there are problems with girls marrying that young there are a dozen other solutions, all without violence.
Help organisations... or how about they get some free will and just refuse mm? I know most of them can't, but some can.
And even then, if it doesn't stop. War won't fix it!!! It's a culture!
This is just one example.
War isn't good for anything. At all.
It's dumb and not thought through.
I'm serious.

if we pull out what'll stop them from comming here and starting war on us! so if we stay a little longer we'll be okay but to leave now would mean bad news for us. But on the other hand if we stay the war might go out of hand and become a world war. So i'm stuck on which side to go on.

I am firmly against the war in the Middle East, but with the mess that has been made over there, how could so-called "allied forces" just pull out? I believe it is the responsibility of the warmongers to not only get out, but to also repair the damage they've made. How long will that take? Who knows?

=\ I am against the war as well. The US soldiers are doing no good there. All of the "good" they do there is only imposing Western ideals on a non-Western society.
Yes, it is terrible what women face there. Wearing burqa and hijab are the least of it. But we cannot magically impose our will upon them--it is a decision they must make for themselves. As long as they oppose it, we cannot succeed in our mission there.
I think we should withdraw all of our troops as soon as possible.

It's their fucking religion. Their choice, why should we force them to become western just because it's our belief? People wouldn't be whining at all if it was the opposite and men were the ones who "oppressed".
Oh, and Germany before Hitler was a shit hole, money was worthless and little more than playing blocks for kids. He helped the German people so much.

Pull the hell out is what I say. They don't want us there, that much is clear. So why should we continue to dick around in there, imposing our unwanted selves upon them?
Oh wait. If we pull out, we'll get tons of shit about how we're evil and uncaring and don't have the balls to finish what we started. We're really put in a lose-lose situation.
What should be done is that the troops pull out and we get the leaders of the Sunnis and Shiites (pardon my spelling if I got it wrong), set them down, and have them SORT THINGS OUT. Their religious factor is a big issue there. And really, it's the extremists' faults, for the most part.
But we really have lost our focus for the war. Bin Laden, anyone? Where the shit is he, and why has he not been caught? Are we even LOOKING for him anymore? And the Iraqi weapons of mass destruction? HM. I sure as hell haven't heard of any findings.
What we SHOULD do is have most of the military forces pull out, leave some to poke around for Bin Laden and try to find where he is, along with dealing whatever militant extremists are running around there, and focus our efforts on, oh... how about NORTH KOREA?! They're the ones TESTING nuclear weapons, for god's sake! Aren't they a bit more of a threat? :\

I believe that we should indeed pull out of the Middle East. As stated earlier all we are accomplishing there is pushing Western ideals on a non Western civilization and making more enemies in the process.
The cover of going in to look for Weapons of Mass Destruction was only a cover for the Bush's family vendetta since it was left up to one of the baby Bush's to do what Daddy couldn't. And let's not forget that little thing called oil. The public was lied to and has continually been lied to, even though this has been proven over and over again (thank you independent media). The sad part is that the sheeple masses tend to believe anything that they are spoon fed on TV and in the newspaper. Then again, every war has its propaganda. This one is no different.
I think that, much like Vietnam, we went in with a command and conquer, pillage and plunder attitude, but many of the soldier's hands are tied by political bullshit and because of this they can't exercise the power that they really have and are now stuck in a quagmire they can't easily get out of. It has to be difficult when you don't know who the enemy is. It could be anyone.
The really sad part is that "Baghdad Bob", for as funny as he was about denying anything that was going on around him, there was truth to his words. The "invaders" will not win.
As far as sitting down the Sunni's and the Shiites and have them come to some sort of understanding would be great if it were simply some disagreement over land but it isn't. There is religion involved and neither is going to bend to the other and say one religion is better than the other.
The women wearing burqas and hijab is something I am very strongly opposed to but I can't expect them to change their morals and beliefs simply because I said so.

I'm really, really not sure. I'm not political because I don't like to get tangled into things beyond my control. I'm 18, so I can't vote, so it's beyond my control...
However, what I DO think is that if the majority of Americans & congress want the war to end, it's Mr. President's responsibility to follow the needs of his country, not his opinion alone. So at least one person's not doing his job here...
But I really don't know, from MY point of view, if we should pull out or not. We already have killed Saddam. I don't see why we should stay, personally. But there may be reasons beyond my knowledge.

I strongly feel that the war we're in should never have been. The terrorists that attacked us was a small group in Saudi Arabia, and trust me, I've checked out the facts. But, noooooooo, Bush excuse me PRESIDENT Bush, decides to make it appear that it was all Iraq and is in over his head to go to war. Who the hell elected this dictator in control? We the people, eh? well then I guess us Americans are as retarded as rocks! I apologize, this whole war pisses me off. We're over there fighting an unjust cause. Is it me or does it sometimes seem like America's trying to take over as many countries as they can? I think for once, America needs to stick to their own business and leave others be, and maybe things will work themselves out.

This entire war was a bad idea... Just one grown man out to accomplish several things, very few of those things having anything to do with the safety and well being of his own country. Unfortunately, we were dumb enough to elect him in the first place, so we have to suffer through the rest of his term(man if only I'd been old enough to vote the first time he ran for president... x.x). Honestly... who votes for a president who can't spell the word nuclear? *shakes head sadly*
Bush had two big things in mind when he dragged us over there:
1) Impressing Daddy... which he was doing at first, until of course he stopped LISTENING to daddy when he told him that he needed to bring our troops home.
2) He seems to think he's a paladin on some holy crusade or something... out to wipe out a culture that existed long before the US was even thought of. Hate to break it to him, but you can't fight terrorism! Terrorism is an idea! It will ALWAYS be there, no matter what you do. You can only try to prevent against it. And pissing off the people who are committing the terrorist acts is only going to make them more likely to attack us at home!
And for those who seem to think that us fighting this war is preventing them from coming over here and attacking us... Have we taken into consideration that they had no real military to speak of to begin with? The country didn't attack us, a terrorist group attacked us. And they used our own tools and people against us to do it. Us spending time and money and waisting the lives of our soldiers over there is not fixing ANYTHING. It's driving us further and further into debt, costing us more and more AMERICAN lives, and putting us at bigger and bigger risk for a homeland attack, especially with him pushing to send MORE troops over there.
This war is not going to end. The middle east hasn't seen peace in hundreds of years. They were at war before the US was founded, and we're not going to be able to change that. Even if we do get some delicately balanced treaty, it will fall apart as soon as we pull out because the insurgents will move again.

The united states thinks that our way is the best way. We are trying to change those countries, what if they don't want to change? it is their culture, and their way of life. Also, the biggest reason why we are in this war is to force them to appease to us and sell us their oil. Ever wonder why the gas prices are so high? It's because we are fighting a war for it. The solution would be to build electric cars. One of my best friends built a working model and the battery lasts for 10 years, charges itself with the alternators and you never have to pay to "fill it up" or anything like that.

While I agree that the gas prices went up originally because of the war, I think now it's just the greed of the oil companies. Honestly... one of the last statements one of them made was that they had to hike up the prices because they were only making "800 dollars a second". So you're looking at 60 seconds in a minute... that's 48,000 a minute... then sixty minutes in an hour... thats 2,880,000 an hour... then 24 hours in a day ... that's 69,120,000 in a day. If that's not greed, I dont know what is.

Yes, I agree, oil companies are extremely greedy. If you've ever seen the movie "who killed the electric car", there's your proof. General Motors reposessed all the electric cars and crushed them in order to get rid of the fact that the idea ever existed and in order to make more money on internal combustion cars, which help oil companies make their green.

I think we should pull out seriously. What right do we have to intrude other countries culture that has been there for generations. Sure they've done some bad things to the U.S. and there's been war because of that. However, we're been there for too long and it just doesn't make sense anymore.
As of war, I agree, you can't make war sound like a good thing cause it's not. If you look back into history, you'll notice that war have been started cause people are power hungry. They want more land, more power, and etc. Take Hitler for example. WWI & WWII started because they want power.
It's human nature to be greedy, to envy, to want power. It's become so chaotic. That's why history is constantly repeating itself.
And besides, the U.S have a pathetic president for Christ sake. So, whatever happens, I blame on the president.

I think we need to pull out of this War asap, we've been in it for too long now.
George Bush needs to pull his thumb out of his ass and bring this War to an end.
I understand the good that this war had done, but think about all the people who've died. I mean It's disgusting the toll of lives taken by gun fire, bombs, Suicide bombers, & just terrible things that happen during war.
Not to mention the prices of gas theses days, and the days since we've entered the war, and all the money that we've put into this long war.
I think we've spent to much time in a land that's not our own.
I think it's time we've focus on our now abused land.
We've got more problems then Bush can probably focus on over here.
But I seriously think it's time we've got the hell out of there, and save all the lives that could possibly be lost soon.

ok, first off I do believe we should pull out, why continue to try and make good a country that doesnt want to be bothered with?
secondly, why are we even there in the first place, what happened to just capturing the terrorists who caused 911? Almost seven years later and we are still wasting tax payers money...
Thirdly, why are we trying to make their country right when ours is turning to shambles? We are at an all time low, many people took a poll and we learned that the peoples perspective of the president and congress has plummeted....
this war is a crock and I personally dislike the president for continuing it...

There are a couple posts I'd suggest people here read that I made in the War Crisis thread in the debate forum. Due to the posts there and just not feeling up to typing much I'll try to keep this short.
I'm military, go me! It does make me seem to have a slightly different view to this even compared to those who are just family members of military since it very directly affects me.
Anyways, this "war on terrorism" can go on for years and according to Ted Koppel at least maybe even up to 50 or so (show: Our Children's Children's War). We can't just pull out though as it could very easily do more damage over there then if we stayed.
What really needs to be done is a change of tactics really. All we're doing by our current aggressive campaign is not only endangering U.S. troop lives (not to mention those we kill) but also supplying them with more reason to hate us. Military use like we've been doing should be cut back drastically but not taken out completely. It would be better for us to concentrate on building schools, hospitals, doing humanitarian deeds rather then trying to kill what we deem as terrorists. In doing that it will make it a lot harder for them to actually build hatred towards us (after all, it's seemed to work in South Africa) and keep going at us if we do so much to help the people there while refraining from killing the people there.
I'm stopping there, hope that made sense. Once again, I ask that people read the thread I linked above.

Its spelled 'asshole'. Literally to call him an anal orifice.
I'm tired of discussing this, so I'll make this short as I can:
I'm tired of war, I'm tired of people dying, I'm tired of my sister in tears scared for her friends, and I'm tired of worrying about my own friends.
But none of that matters.
The problem lies in our presence in the Mid-...but not the way everyone seems to think.
BECAUSE there are allied troops in the Mid-East, the great powerstruggle between factions has not come to a close. Therefore, the war goes on, because terrorist and extremist cells keep fighting for their own ends. As long as someone with a bigger stick than they holds the power, they can't have it so they will continue to wage guerrilla warfare.
Now, if we pull out, that powerstruggle will abruptly come to a head and explode.
There will be massive civil war, while one faction struggles for the choke-hold on another. Let me tell you something interesting...
Extremist cells have no qualms whatsoever about blowing themselves up, so why should they care about anyone else?
While they fight for supremacy, thousands, tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands of people will die brutally.
There will be bombs (dirty and otherwise), guns, and genocide, guaranteed.
But only if we 'pull out.'
And THEN, we'll have another small-minded sadist sitting on the throne, crushing someone else under his heel, that we'll have to remove from power once more. It'll be a mini-Saddam, bloodthirsty as ever.
That doesn't sound like a better alternative to me at all.
There, I'm done. :)

Whether we choose to stay there or pull out, the world will be watching and waiting to ridicule.
But not until Bush is out of office in 2008, when we'll have a new president. Bush will probably back his idea of staying in Iraq until he is no longer Mr. President Bush.
Who would want their loved ones to be at war? Nobody, but if you look at it, only the US would've send troops to help them...O.o

We should pull out of the war. By who's standards are we basing this war on..western society or Middle East society? We are basing on what we think is write by our traditions not theirs. Our children, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, uncle and aunts and friends are dying over there for a war we cannot win. This war is turrning into a civil war and we cannot win it. Look at Veitam, it was a civil war and the US didn't win it. We have no hope in hell of winning this war so we should pull out. Sure we set up a government but how long do people think it will be before it is over thrown and replaced with another dictator? Pulling out is the best solution that is left to us because the people over there are stating to hate us being there. We should not have striked back because we are just confirming that we are trying to westernise the world and not letting it have its own different cultures from around the world.
