Yeah, I don't really like to rush ahead in books. Don't worry, I take my time. I like to get the full feel of the book, which annoys my friends sometimes because I take forever to read a book. XD I was supposed to let my friend borrow New Moon, but it's taking forever for me to finish it. But, that's also because I'm reading another book as well. ^^;;

Wow. I'm re-reading Twilight and I'm having a hard time getting through it this time. I think all of the anti-Twilight things I've been sifting through have put me off a bit.
I'm determined to re-read it, though. I loved it the first time through, until I realized how badly written it was. I'm sure my fangirlish love of Edward is buried somewhere!

..Ignorance is bliss..

It's not really as poorly whiten as everyone makes it out to be, and there are books that are far worse. Mrs.Meyer is a first time author, she deserves a little leeway.

True, there are books that are far worse. The writing itself doesn't bother me... I think she's a decent author. The concept is a bit cliched, but enjoyable as a good piece of fluff. It's really the flatness of the characters that gets to me. It might be a bit more well-received outside the group of teenage girls if the characters weren't ALL so sue-ish and underdeveloped. Sadly, she claims that her characters are the reason for writing the story. T_T

@ Huggie: Most of the larger Twilight websites have set pictures posted now. The Lexicon and Stay Twilight are probably my favorites but Twilight Moms has the most on set coverage because they have been allowed to be there for a large amount of the filming.

Hi ok first of all the book is amazing my Seth is my god father, and so yes that means Steph is my god aunt... I have met her before but she is always busy but thats ok because i love all of her books, i actually just finished reading Edwards version of twilight and you guys will not believe what is to come. Like in chapter 13 wow what he is thinking is amazing you its a must read.

And for my birthday she got me a copy of breaking dawn which is not to be released yet but thats ok because I helped you edit it and make it more so that teenagers would like it...

People you have to read breaking dawn it is great i mean if you search her website it gives you hints and let me just give you one really helpful hint that will leave you thinking

What would happen if a vampire were to kiss a werewolf??

what does that mean? Yup bella and jacob

Also the movie i saw some of the scenes when i went with auntie Steph but let me tell you it is much more uncool to see it filming then to see the real thing.. of course i got to meet the guy who was acting as Edward and he is so nice his voice is adorable..

As he even hugged me.. when he loked like Edward which was a dream come true for me

If you have any questions about future books or the movie i will answer them but i dont give to many spoilers since i promised Steph.

I hope everyone will enjoy the books and please buy them, Steph is going to get me Alice's porcshe

I'm a total fan of the Twilight Series. Like, awesome, right? I thought Twilight was the best book so far because the rest didn't lead on as well. I actually read the three that have come out around five times. They're THAT good. I know, crazy, huh?

This book series is one of my favorites. I have all three in the series so far and cannot wait until the fourth one is released. The fact she is making another book in the series but not a sequel of any kind is astoundingly great. I cannot wait to read the thoughts that are Edward Cullen on meeting a girl he literally cannot peek into her mind to find a fear to keep her away from his family. To see his feelings on falling in love with a mortal girl. The thought is delicious. The movie is an anticipation I am not sure I should dread or revere in whatever glory it comes to. If the movie is messed up in any way, I know several people willing to go and find the writers of the script and shoot them dead. It is one of the greatest vampire tales of this day and age, and is also one of the greatest romances of this day and age. Cheers to Stephenie Meyers for creating something that is such a great read!!!

Bringing this up in hopes that it will help the repeat thread problem.

@friarlynn-- I'm going to go with dread. I have yet to see a book-turned-movie that I really enjoyed.
Look at Harry Potter. They focused so much on finding a kid that looked like Harry that they picked a horrible, horrible actor. Those might have been good movies if it weren't for Radcliffe.
Yeah. I'm betting on them destroying the books and pissing off fans everywhere.

  • I'm very fond of the first book, but not so much the second and third. The extreme tension between Edward and Bella was gold, in my opinion, but that disappears after Twilight. New Moon and Eclipse left me yearning for that tension again.

While I am eager to read the final book, I am much more interested in Midnight Sun, and the movie.

Repeat thread problems?

I think you have to look at the movie from a different perspective having read the books already for the movie to be appealing to you. So where there are the hardcore fans who will not associate the movie with being based off of a novel because they're such hardcore fans of the novel and the movie is not up to their expectations, they automatically hate the movie. You have to think of it as being something different than the book - its a whole new experience in how you will know the story, and if they don't have the right actors for the parts, or people don't look how you expected, then that's something that you have to put out of your mind, because it's impossible to find anyone who will both act the part, and look the part perfectly.

Yeah, repeat thread problems. It seemed like every time I came in here there was some new thread about the series. :\

It's just disappointing when you read a book you like and then see that the movie is less than exciting. -shrug-

Oh right. Yeah, even when this thread is on the first page, people post new topics on it. Its lame >>

Do you think because there's just so much hype on the movie that you have high expectations for it, and then it doesn't meet them? That could be what happens.

I know what you mean though. Some movie translations just really are disappointing : (

It is only recently that I have been able to finish five hundred paged bookswithout throwing the book saying it's boring. My first book that I ever finished was True sight, a three hundred page book, the next was The Beast of Noor, a four hundred-fivehundred page book. When I finally got to read Twilight,I never wanted to put it down! I took every chance to read that book when ever one aproached me. And Im hoping that Robert Pattinson staring as Edward does justice to his part!

Oh, and by the way. The books that I mentioned, were the greatest books I have ever read. But Twilight is the BEST!

Haha who doesn't like/love or know about those books. I think they're pretty much sex on pages. BUT hey that's me. She is pretty cool, although I think they're butchering the movie to pieces. I hear the soundtrack is 'spose to be pretty nifteh. ^_^

I love these books. I've read all of them so far. I would read them again, but I bought the first and third one and borrowed the second from the library. I went to reread it and it had been stolen so now it is time to go buy it.

I read these books on a recommendation from a friend of mine. She loaned me all three, and the second I picked up the first I read through. They're really fun, playful books.

... And, you know, they make it quite easy for a bookworm to identify with the protagonist. :)

I'm quite looking forward to the release of the next book.

Ehhh, for me the whole series is kind of disappointing. It had a lot of good ideas, and it could have really been great... but in some areas, it's absolutely awful.

I still can't figure out if Meyer wrote Bella to be so mindnumbingly boring so she can be a foil to the sheer amazing of the vampires or if it was an accident, but Bella is just... strange. She acts like she's a total outcast, but really she has nothing that makes her stand out aside from the fact she seems to like to read and apparently likes old stuff.

I also kind of hate how the things that are supposed to make Bella and Edward seem intelligent really just make everyone else look stupid... and how it takes AGES for Bella to figure out things when the entire plot gets handed to her in an infodump. granted, I can understand her skepticism about vampires in the first book, but i nthe second and third it takes her ages to solve the werewolf mystery. Though I think at the time she was going through Edward withdrawl, so I might let it pass.

However, I have to say. The Dialogue is very fun to read, and Edward's a cool character.

You don't have to stand out to be an outcast. If you keep to yourself you can be an outcast and Bella isn't an outcast. She just is not popular nor does she crave attention so she spends a lot of time on her own before she finds Edward.
