Yeah it is the kid who played Sharkboy. Luckily he has grown up a bit and I've seen him in the wig and that helps. I just hope he plays the part well because if they do the other books he will have to be in it more than a few minutes and will need to stand up to the talent of Robert and Kristen.

I blazed through the series like it was water. The writing style is something completely different from my usual third person pick-ups. So reading it from kind of a first person PoV was kinda daunting, but the storyline overall caught my attention.
New Moon was probably the most depressing one I had to read and related to the most. I went through a depression very similar to Bell's (my Senior year was a blurr, seriously) and that just brought back so many horrible horrible memories. I secretly wish she hadn't even taken Edward back since that was the lowest blow a guy can make to a girl. I'm even more surprised that their issues from the second book didn't carry on over into Eclipse.
I'm thoroughly excited about Breaking Dawn. The last three have all been related to the moon, so maybe this one will be a brighter perspective or focus on saving Jakkie since she often referred to him as her "Sun."
As for the movie, I'm going to wait till it's closer to release date to look further into it. I have never liked books that were made into movies (I go through each one with a fine-tooth comb) and dreading to see what they'll neglect in this one.

Well I think Emily Browning would've still been a little too pretty for Isabella... because she's supposed to be very ordinary looking.
But Gaspard would've been perfect. :D

Did anyone else read the first chapter and prologue of Breaking Dawn today?!
I was so surprised by the whole Jacob story. It makes sense it just wasn't what I expected.

I read all three books and I loved them! But in Eclipse Bella went a little bad and I don't like Jacob anymore. I can't wait until Breaking Dawn comes out! The Host looked like an okay book but I don't really want to read it.
Oh and thanks for telling when breaking dawn is going to some out! I had forgotten the date. :sarcasm:

Freaking LOVE the series. I heard rumours about that they might have books about the story from Edward's point of view. If this is true, it'd be an awesome read because Edward is such a complex character.
I borrowed the series from a friend of mine and have been crazy about them ever since.

There won't be a series from Edward's point of view there will just be one book. She is writing Twilight from his point of view and it will be called Midnight Sun. I'm thinking it will be a lot like reading Ender's Shadow after reading Ender's Game.

I'm not so keen of reading the books from his point of view... Sure, they will be interesting and expand what we already know about Twilight, but does Edwards point of view really matter?
Twilight is interesting because your in Bella's head, a place not even a mind-reading vampire can get into.
Having said that, I would read and love the book anyway.. Depending on what Breaking Dawn holds, I might want another sequel more than a rewrite of Twilight from someone else's point of view.

Weather we want more sequels or not I don't think we will ever get them. She's mentioned other stories in that universe but not any more about specifically Bella and Edward which let's face it, is the whole point.
I think Midnight sun will be really sad actually. I get the feeling that for most of the time Edward is really depressed and upset with himself. I think he has an almost constant argument in his head about what he wants. Bella is single minded about Edward. She wants to be with him regardless of cost. Edward weighs every problem and I think it will make for an incredibly sad and stressful book. I think that is why she is only doing Twilight this way.

I read Twilight in 26 hours. o.O
I didn't expect to like it. I was pretty much ready to tear it to pieces (metaphorically), finding a million things wrong with it.
But then I... got hooked. oO
And I ordered the sequel today.
So there you have it, Twilight fangirls. You've won over another person.

I'm glad you gave it a try. I'm kind of a book snob myself and I refused to read it for ages. I thought it sounded cheesy and it was recommended to me by my grandma of all people. I love it now and am mad at myself for waiting so long to read it.

Ok. About to tirade here:
Now, I consider myself a fairly literate person with book shelves stacked with all kinds of heavy literature. My sister suggested Twilight to me, so I picked it up. Now, I'm going to be brutal for one moment:
Meyer is NOT a good author, in my honest opinion. She focuses on ridiculous minutiae like.. bella cooking in great detail. I do hate that Bella seems to be quite a weak character (hello can you get in a car by yourself, woman)
BUT
I love the series.. and read all three books in less than two days. The romance is so over the top and ridiculous, but it plays into what I believe everyone hopes exists out there: that there is someone, who is PERFECT who loves you unconditionally and will even sacrifice their well-being to keep you safe. It's beautiful. It's sappy. It gets my estrogen flowing like no other.
So, Stephenie Meyer.. you got me. I will be in line at midnight to buy Breaking Dawn and there is nothing I can do about it.
Also, to everyone who hates on Robert Pattinson as Edward in the movie--- have you SEEN the teaser trailer? That boy had me mopping the floor with drool. I'm excited to see him really do full lines to see if the accent carries well, but he sounded great in the preview. He spoke with a half whisper that was undeniably sexy.. =)

Cherry Peel - I think Robert Pattinson is a really good Edward.
I had seen some of the cast before I read it, so while I read it, I pictured Edward as Robert. It worked really well. XD
I don't think I'll be able to watch The Goblet of Fire the same way again. XD (Though I don't think I'm going to watch it again PERIOD. >.O It was really really horribly done. The book was good, but god, the movie was so lame.)
Mint - Wow, your GRANDMA suggested it to you? XD How odd.
But yeah, it sounded cheesy to me, too.

My grandma is a librarian so she gives me books to read sometimes. Every once in a while I get packages int he mail with two or three books in them. Sometimes I read them right away and sometimes (like with Twilight) I let them sit until I run out of stuff to read.
I think Robert makes a perfectly fine Edward. I think he is really really beautiful to look at and at the same time looks a bit odd. Edward shouldn't look like a guy you can see walking down your street any old time. (Goblet of Fire was done incredibly poorly - but now instead of beign sad for Cedric I am sad for Edward and Cedric... it is quite pathetic of me.)

Yeah, Robert certainly doesn't look like someone you'd see in a grocery store or something! XD
There was something wrong with my cellphone a few weeks ago, and I took my phone in, and the guy who was working there had some very similar features to Robert. He didn't look a ton like him, but like, his jaw line and forehead were the same. And I was just trying not to stare at him. XD
And yeah, when I saw HP 4, I hadn't read Twilight yet, but I knew a lot about it (boyfriend is obsessed) so when Cedric died, I was like "Aww, they killed Edward. :("
And that's cool that your grandma sends you books.
Had she read it, or did she just think it looked good for you?

I read all that series. I'm going to the party August 1 and I'm going to buy Breaking Dawn at midnight at the party on August 2nd. The first second of August 2nd I'm getting it. YAY! And ASAP I'm getting the newer one in Edward's point of view. I wish I could live my life like Bella lives hers. It'd be amazing!

She has read it. She liked it so she sent it to me. She is like me in that we don't think there should be divisions in bookstores. Good books are good books no matter the age group they are sectioned into.
I actually didn't like Robert as Cedric but I loooove him as Edward. I think it was an inspired casting choice. Much better I think than the fan choice of that Gaspard kid.

I love the twilight series and I can't wait for the other two books to come out, but I'm kind of upset about the movie. To me it just spoils the book. The actors don't really display the characters as I had pictured them and you can't really capture thoughts on screen. You know?

I love the Twight series.
The way I found out is kinda funny. My mom dumped me off at Joesh-Beth and I look around for a while and finally decised on 2 vampire books and when I went to check out the girl behind the counter asked if I have ever read twilight and I told her no. So before checking me out (there was others waiting) she went and found the book and handed it to me. She told me she thought I would really like it so I got it. I read it all that night. I can't wait till Breaking Dawn comes out.

That's interesting.
I'm currently trying to get my mom into it. She was like I was, thinking the story sounded really lame and cliche. So I spent like, half an hour telling her some details about stuff that happens in Twilight and New Moon (leaving out some things so I didn't COMPLETELY spoil the book. But I knew it was one of those things where if I didn't spoil it a little bit, she'd never even read it. So I had to) and finally she got interested and started asking questions, and now she wants to read it!
I actually don't remember Cedric from the third movie. It's been like, three years since I saw it.
I saw the fourth a month or so ago, but despite his being more involved, he had such a small part.
He's definitely a better Edward, though. Though I think his voice is a bit too deep.... But oh well, he can't be EXACTLY like I pictured him. ^^
He's pretty close, anyway. Since I knew he was playing him before I read the book, so I just imagined Edward as looking like Robert Pattinson. So I won't be too let down!

I talked my mom into reading it by telling her that if she wanted to go to the movies with us in December she had to read the book first because no one was allowed to go on my outing without doing so. She then agreed to read Twilight this summer. I have no doubt that as soon as I get her started she will be sucked in like I was. I had to take the same approach with Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings.
He ended up looking quite different from the Edward in my head but not so much that I found it off-putting. Then I went back and read a description of Edward and he really does fit it well. Much better than most book adaptation actors. I mean how many people can you think of that actually do have bronze hair.
