Hmm....Twilight is one of my favorite reads still. I read Twilight in a day and then New Moon the next day and then proceeded to re-read them ;D Honestly they are way to addicting ^-^

Hi everyone. I made a few changes to the thread, just to reorganize things, and posted an update. I realized that this thread had not had any action in quite some time, and felt that it was time for a discussion on the first chapter of Eclipse, which was released earlier this month. Please post your opinions on it for us all to discuss!

Eclipse - Chapter 1

I feel sorry for Bella, having to struggle between choosing who she wants more, Edward or Jacob, because it's hard to pick one friend over another, and to pick sides in a war that has been going on for years. It is cute though, how Bella and Jacob communicate, through notes passed on by their parents. I also feel bad for her, because Edward is being stubborn still, and is continually pressuring Bella into college. Bella has her plans, and she's intending on following them. Edward isn't going to get his way.

I'm in LOVE with these books! (If you couldn't tell by my username. lol) I can't wait for Eclipse to come out! S.M. is the only author who makes me enjoy reading. I never knew about the books that involves Edward's point of view though. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

Oooh XD I just finished reading New Moon last night. : D In my opinion though I think Twlilight was better but w/e xD Looking forward to reading Eclipse x] Hum.... wow Eclipse Prom? o___O; lucky.

Wheeee! I finally read the book, after much delay and it's now on the top of my favorite book lists. I can't wait for Eclispe. =x

did you guys read Midnight sun the first chapter? It's on Edward's perspective it's really interesting what he was thinking about while things happen in twilight.

also a movie might be coming out for twilight. anyone excited for that?

I loved those books!

I was hooked and finished Twilight and New Moon in just three days. I love that the characters aren't all "I'm a badass vampire. I am angsty and only feel hate hsssss. Nothing can defeat me muahahaha!" The characters actually have depth and act very human. It's easy to get attached to them. :)

I usually avoided novels that involved vampiric subjects, but after reading other people's comments--well, it got me excited. xD; Unfortunately, Twilight is sold out in the book stores I've checked and they only have New Moon in stock; I really don't want to read New Moon first. @[email protected];; Even the libraries have Twilight checked out.

kiara: I like Harry more, but I've been reading Harry since I was like... 9, so I'm kind of nostalgic when it comes to my Harry craze. Twilight is close to that though :']

I was a bit pressured into reading the series by a friend :lol: . At first, it was one friend who pressured me into reading it, later on, after she let a bunch of other girls read it, they all came up to me and pressure me even more. I regret nothing though, actually I'm pretty glad they all forced me to read Twilight.
I finished the first book in less than 2 days, which was probably the fastest time that I actually take to read a book. Then I constantly hunted down infos on the movies and the other two books. I'm still in the mid of reading the second one and can't wait to see the 3rd one. It's the only series I've ever pursued in my whole reading career :D

The books are pretty much Edward going, "OH GOD, I'M TO PRETTY FOR YOU!" in my opinion. : | I think he really is a very self-centered character. And no matter how hilarious the whole "I'M TOO PRETTY," is, it's pretty...stupid. So I don't like these books much, but I can understand why a lot of people would. Bella also isn't that strong of a character.

But as far as novels like this go, I think it's pretty good. Just...not my type of book. XD;;

I don't think this should be made into a movie; it's one of those things that's just best in your head, you know? : )

I kinda agree with parfait... the books do seem better in my head than up on the big screen... I love the looks I've given characters in my head and don't really want to have the movie ruin the books for me. (That kinda happened with me and Harry Potter and all the changes they made to it...)

It might just be one of those things loved best on their own in paper form.. Yet I might be pleasantly surprised and love the movie as much as the book like I did for Memoirs of a Geisha, A Little Princess and The Secret Garden. ^_^; Maybe, who knows.

Down with Potter! If any of you are not already members of the Twilight Lexicon, I would highly advise you join. There are a ton of cool things there, and so much information about the series that you don't get by just reading them. Stephenie's a member. Why aren't you?

I love both Twilight and New Moon.
On her website I saw that she's going to have a book signings, so I'm gonna go to one. Hopefully. xD

I honestly thought that Twilight was amazing, but new moon SUCKED. It was boring and almost hard to get through. I was deeply dissapointed and glad that I bought it in soft cover.

I wasn't aware that New Moon was out in paperback, and I highly preferred it to Twilight to be honest with you :']

I want to read Twilight, but can't find it in the book store they are sold out. And it's also borrow form the library. I got 1 friend that is crazy about it. She got the 2 books and can't wait for the 3rd. So I really want to read it too... And now the 3rd is out. >.< Must get my hands on one.

i LOVE TWILIGHT (series) just so utterly fantastic last time i was seriously so envolved in a book was with HP.
However as much as i love Twilight i can't say i like it better than HP. because they kinda satisfy differnet thirsts (just reliazed thats a funny analogy considering lol)- Twilight (obviously love story) but HP is more adventerous.
on another note- i can't belive Fancy, you thought New Moon sucked... hm.... i could understand not lke it but only if twilight didn't even seem tot float ur boat. eh- are u still gonna read eclipse?

oh and Seiki nova: the soft sover came out around Twilight prom- because isn't the first chapter of Eclipse in the back and at the prom is when it was debuted (by a reading- man i wish i could been there)

I know that the first chapter of Eclipse was debuted at prom; I was there. However, I still haven't seen a paperback of New Moon, and I was just at Barnes and Noble today. I checked.

The first chapter of Eclipse is in the New Moon: Special Edition which comes with tattoos and a poster.

Twilight is quite posably my favorite book along with New Moon and as soon as Eclipse comes out I am going to read it 'til my little heart is content...I find it intriguing and irrisistable and I find myself fantising about Edward...isn't it sad when you fantisise over a fictional character...anyway Twilight and New Moon are the best ever!!! :D

i remember before around prom timish (i remmeber the time for other reasons but this is a better time frame for you) i was in Borders (a big one, not a mall one) and it it was on the board for upcoming releases and that was awhile ago- i've never actualyl seen a copy either- granted i never look

When you've been surrounded by hundreds of fangirls who do the same exact thing in fantasizing about a fictional character like you do, its not sad. Its creepy haha. But I would say its like falling in love with a character in a movie. Everyone loves that character.

Tsubasa Rose: Awe. At prom, there were these really big posters of the cover of Eclipse and New Moon. I was just like.. "Gimme T___T" haha. But it was great.

Stephenie has a picture of her with Eclipse on her MySpace page, and it drives her fans insane haha. I'm totally content with waiting for it to come out unlike most of her fans who wanted it months ago at Prom!
