Not that fighting an evil and sadistic wizard wouldn't do that to anybody anyway....

But I finished New Moon which is entirely miraculous considering that I just bought it yesterday after school. I have never finished a book of that length in less than one day, ever... the only reason that I did was because Edward was clearly about the show up by the time I was going to go to bed (already a couple of hours later than my normal...) and I ended up reading until like 6 something this morning, well after my mom was already awake. I got about an hour and a half of sleep. But I found myself stubbornly awake with Bella XD.

And I like her a lot better in this book. Maybe though it's because I found myself feeling the same way that she did about most things... except for her certainty that she was doomed to Paris... well, not that that was a future she entirely rejected but it wasn't ideal. I thought that the way that that was handled by... the parties involved, though, was very graceful.

Yes. Yes I am.

EDIT: Poet - That's how the books were with me, too! I stayed up until 4 on numerous occasions and finished them SO quickly.
So did that one make you cry?

Yeah... but I think the hardest part for me was right in the beginning. Even knowing it obviously wasn't true, I was pretty much in tears... after that I was on the edge of my seat, though. So to speak.

I really liked how Meyer illustrated the passage of time after that. It all happened in a blur, so she showed you... October. November. December. January... I don't know why; I just really liked that. Reminded me of a movie.

EDIT: But something... every time someone said "bloodsuckers" it kind of stung. Or leeches. I was like... ouch. Way to be scathing.

I didn't cry when Edward left, surprisingly. I knew he'd be back. xD
I did cry when Jake told her he couldn't be friends with her anymore. Because I had no clue if that was permanent or not, so it felt more real.

Yeah, I know. It was just the way he did it that was so wrong. Maybe it was because you knew he was lying that it hurt even more... cause you would have to know how hard it would be for him and how much he must be convinced that he's doing the right thing...

And as for Jacob... I don't know. He's not a bad guy and of course if he leaves... that's no good, either. But I mean you get the sense you couldn't be so easily rid of him, either. Those supernatural creatures and life-threatening situations have their way of finding Bella, and you never know whose territory she would be on when it happens.

Mm, I suppose. I wasn't thinking about it that deeply. xD Just that Bella had lost everything that was important to her (Edward), then was trying to pick the pieces back up and then what little she had (Jake) also left. Sooo I cried a little. xD I have a bad habit of putting myself in Bella's shoes and thinking about how I'd feel if it happened to me, so I tend to get very emotional when I'm reading those books. xD

Well of course you put yourself in her shoes. They're the ones you're in the minute you open the book!

But also the way the wolves were about the vampires. The vampires weren't much better but... they at least seemed to make the effort to be graceful about it. Like the way Edward was careful when he almost said "kill" but then changed his wording... I appreciated that it was hard for her, though. I mean... of course it would be. And he did play a pretty prominent role in her life.

Plus I prefer cold to hot, as temperatures go... ;)

Hmm, now that I think about it, I do too. If I get warm, I start to feel sick.
But... something cold is certainly a turn off, wouldn't you think? xD
I wonder if Bella's lips ever got stuck to Edward.... xDDD

XD he's cold like stone... but stone is more porous than metal! No sticky lips. Besides, he's kind of more like a cold-blooded creature. That is... it's not like he's emanating coldness like ice or something. I think it's more like you know... when he's with her, there's a little warmth that she gives him. It's not you know... completely frozen xP.

I never really trusted the funk that she was in to be completely gone until he returned so the thought of her going with Jacob really depressed me. Even though obviously that wasn't happening... I'm very sentimental and so complacency like that just wouldn't seem good enough.

I don't blame you for hiding from the spoilers; it's hard to talk about it without spoiling something for someone, and I happened across that reality as it slapped me in the face anytime I looked for a place to discuss the fact taht I'd read the first book. I suppose that's the main disadvantage to coming relatively late into a series.

The main advantage, though, is the eye candy and almost-instant gratification.

I'm having major obsession problems considering where my mind is spending its time. I'm afraid I'm going to go into withdrawal if I finish the series or something xD. Not that I'm in immediate danger of that, being that I don't have the third or fourth books yet... and I'm gonna have to buy the hardcover of the fourth one. That'll be pricey...

I can't wait for the movie, though. I keep watching the trailer >_>.

*shrug* Well, it's cheaper there if you want it. Or you may be able to find it used online, but that's difficult, considering the high demand.

Is it sad that I'm watching the trailer repeatedly... with no sound?

But it adds to it!
Except for when RPattz sounds Southern. "HE'S NAYVUR GAWNA STAWWPP!"

It adds, unless there are outside ears you don't want to hear XD. Plus you can't just filter out all the other sounds. *shifty*

I think this will feel much healthier when I actually see the movie, and it's not so... I don't know. Cut down XD.

Southern? Aw, haha. Well... you gotta give the guy credit for the accent anyway XD.

And like, have you noticed that when he's all crouching in the tree and is like "We're not like others of our kind" he looks... really weird? Sort of like he's seen the ugliest cat ever and is about to throw up?

XDXDXD. I wouldn't have worded it like that but I would say that he looks weird. But not like... a really bad weird. But I would imagine that the thoughts that would be behind such a statement could be revolting. XD.
