Some of those were hilarious, but it got a little repetitive after a while.

So I was thinking earlier and... Edward is absolutely no fun. xD He cracked like, one joke in the entire series, the only things he does for fun are driving fast (which isn't that exhilarating when you have lightning-quick reflexes), piano (oh, super fun), and baseball, which they apparently stopped playing after Twilight. Unless making out with Bella counts as something fun.
Jake, on the other hand, is a fountain of fun and sarcasm and jokes.

Every actual fanfiction I've ever written has been properly punctuated, thank you very much. :|
I don't get the stigma that fanfiction = crap. Seriously.
Cherry:: Jake is WAY funner than Edward. xD
Although, making out with Bella might count as fun, yes. -ponders-

Probably because there's so much bad fanfiction in the world, Kit. xD
There's certainly good stuff, you just have to hunt it down.
So, guys, I have a Twilight fangirl in my household. She set RPattz as her computer desktop (and squeals every time she looks at it), spends 90% of her time watching Twilight clips (and squealing everytime RPattz appears), does nothing but talk about the hotness of Edward (and squeal if I mention his name), and today she came home with I <3 EDWARD all over her arms. God, it's HORRIBLE. She's making me hate this series so badly.

...Ewwww. D: Slap her, please.
And yes, fanfiction has the stigma because the majority of it is very bad. Few people can actually write something that stays true to the original in characters, plots, style, etc.
There are certainly good ones out there, I'm sure. I haven't seen one, but I don't read fanfiction. The thing is, there's just so much shit produced by bored thirteen year olds clogging the intrawubs that it makes the good stuff pretty hard to find.

Right, because popularity automatically equals evil. Because if something is liked by a lot of people, it must be horrible. That's why so many people like it. >>
I don't care if you don't like it, you don't have to, but you could at least be polite and respectful in a thread about it.

I hate it when people say they don't like something just because it's popular.
I have a friend that says "I don't like it because it's popular. I don't conform that way." But they're conforming to the group that's trying to be cool by not conforming 8'D
Ah well. Twilight is bad, yes. But.. it's bad in a lovable way XD

Exactly.
I can understand being turned off by something popular's FANS. Fangirls can be irritating. I want to smack most Twilight fans. HARD. But the fans say nothing about the quality of the product itself. Good things can attract stupid, spazzy people.
And some things that are popular DO suck. But their popularity has nothing to do with it. It's all just a matter of taste.
And yeah, the whole "I'm not going to conform by liking that!" is incredibly hypocritical. The true way to be non-conformist is to just like what you like. If something you like it popular, then still like it. If something is unpopular, still like it. It's about liking what YOU want, not what everyone wants you to. And it totally goes both ways.

I'm not letting popularity (or lack there of) dictate what I like to read/watch/draw/etc. I'm doing what makes ME happy. XP

I think it's funny when people stop liking something because it becomes popular. Then they go around acting all high and mighty because they knew about it first and it was soooo much better before and blah blah blah. e____________e;;

Well, sometimes things honestly WERE better before they got more popular. Like Gaia, for example. Before it sold out, it was okay. Though I only joined in 06, so I don't know.
Or some bands just put out better things in their beginning than near the end/recent times.
Like, for example, I really like Green Day's album Nimrod, but their new[er] stuff really bugs me.

Ugh. Gaia. I was there for a couple of years, and it was definitely better two years ago. Even up to a few months ago it was ..okay. Their rules just weren't strict enough D8; They let things get out of hand too quickly and now they don't even have time to deal with it all.
I have yet to give Green Day a good listen. Recommend any songs? >w<

Yeah, I think if they had been more strict from the start they would have become less of a hell-hole as far as the community went. And they have always been understaffed. Always. I don't even know that they could catch up now unless they hired something like fifty mods.
Luckily, Mene has been an enforcer of anti-spam and pro-community from the get go, so as we grow, we'll be able to maintain that. ^^
But as far as Gaia goes, zOMG is pretty fun. I haven't played it in a week or two, but for a while I was addicted to it. xD
"Brain Stew" is one of my favorite Green Day songs. Also, "Hitchin' A Ride," and "The Grouch." Pretty much everything off of Nimrod is good. Though "Last Ride In" is just a surfer instrumental.
The singer has a really nasally voice which can remind you of some really BAD bands, but he's one of the few people that pulls it off.

Oh yeah, we are in the Twilight thread, aren't we. >> So off topic. xDD
Oh, I don't know, just songs that are basically about nothing of any import to anyone, including the writer. Songs that are just there to be there. To be popular, though they have no meaning.
Y'know, like they make up something generic and senseless that has no special meaning to them or anyone else, it's not trying to tell a story or make a point, it's just to be catchy. I hate that.
