I don't know if anyone has seen the commercials on TV recently (in North America) but there's a commercial thats going on for some kind of hair shampoo / products brand that pits blondes against brunettes and why one is superior to the other. Sadly, they totally forget the red heads.

Anyhow, I was wondering, which is the best hair color to have in your opinion? It doesn't have to be your own hair color (although most people choose their own), and if you have a hair color that isn't on the topic list, put it down and make your case!

For me, it's brunettes. We're going to take over the world eventually. It's just plain genetics, we've got the dominant gene. Our hair also doesn't turn green when we go swimming.

Everyone always forgets those with black hair. ;_;

They do though. But that's just because marketers are usually very North American / Western European centric where the majority of the population has brunette or blonde hair.

I have reddish brown hair, auburn I suppose. xp So what does that count as?

I really like brunettes though, I'll have to admit. :]

I find it interesting how everyone fights about brunettes and blondes.
And while they're fighting, us redheads win. :] Auburn haircolor pawns. I love it, and must be why I dye my hair such. xD
Though I must say a platinum blonde sticks out in a crowd usually [unless you live around here where over half the girls are blonde...fake blondes of course], and I love a dark rich chocolate brown. <3

It's hard for me to say which is the best. Though I'd have to say black hair, since that's my natural hair color.

Though maybe after I dye my hair I'll have to say that. Though I do dye it unnatural colors. Like blood red, blue and purple. xP Haha.

Though I have to say black for right now. xP

I'm biased, but I'd have to say black. ^^; It goes with just any skin tone, so it always looks natural (as long as you go for a natural black that is a blue black or a red black and not a ink black dye)

Stilleto - It drives me nuts when I see people that have normally light colored hair and they dye it super black as the midnight sky without moon dark. And then they don't bother touch it up at the roots and have a skunk strip of light blonde :S It's a pet peeve of mine, which is why I rarely ever dye my hair a two shades darker or lighter than my natural color.

actually black would look horrible on me.... which is tragic because i love contrast and i'm uber pale.
i vote for redheads- blonde is over done, and amongst teenagers, so is black, and brunette is just plain boring... so red!

I wish I could dye my hair red but I have this thing where if everyone is dying their hair one color I have super huge problems doing it. Right now a bunch of my friends have dyed their hair red and now I feel like I shouldn't because I don't want to be part of the crowd. But I am getting my hair done on tuesday so hopefully I can get something that's still pretty cool.

I think it'd be awesome to have hair various shades of blue.

Of course, any other color than my natural hair would probably look horrid on me. Go sandy blond!

actually at my highschool the kid with the best mohawk had shades of blue fading from the tips to the roots- he also did green, but his blue hawks were the best! ^.^

Xanadam - A while ago I got my hair dyed red and blue.. like parts blue and parts red, alternating. It turned out quite nice. This time I'm thinking of dying it different shades of red to have them blend together. Either that or blue. Who knows? I always change my mind every hour. xP

Anyways ... i don't think there is a better or worse hair color, i like them all. But yeah... having pink hair rules, and blue, and purple, and green. Yay colors.

I'm a brunette. Personally, in guys, I'm attracted to blondes. But, in females, I'm more attracted to redheads or brunettes. I don't like redheads with really short hair though...

^_^ You have never seen many Russians, then. Some are very pale with very dark hair. I find it very appealing.

I'm naturally a brunette, but recently a straightening chemical has lightened my hair up to a reddish tint... so while I'm a reddish-brunette, I'll have to say brunettes. Just since I am one. xD

I have certain adjectives that go with haircolor, though:

brunettes - classy
blondes - bubbly
redheads - vibrant
black hair - exotic
any other color - cool. 8)

I have actually turned to my mother on a number of times, complaing about these commercials. I find it stupid how thier pitting girls agisnt each over for something as shallow as hair colour!!

I have to say that my favorite hair colours are Vibrant red, and cheasnut brown. And they are, in my opion, the best colours. Red is a firey passionate color, and the dark sweet colours that a cheasnut provides shows life, wamth.

The fact that my hair is a shade below cheasnut has nothing to do with why I like it... >>

i have actually- 2 of my best friends in life have come from former soviet countries. (one was blond though) i'm not saying that its not pretty for some pale people- it just doesn't work on me

That's because they're naturally those colors. There's a lot of very pale people that are fair haired naturally (eyelashes and eyebrows included) and it looks really awkward when they go super dark. And it's usually a really flat black, not one of those glossy blacks.

I loooove my Black hair, but I love it when its Dark Brown to. So whatever hair color you like is the best!!!!

I'm all about the black hair. Sometimes some dark brown or tasteful red highlights, but there's just something about the darker colors I find appealing.
