  • I'm a brunette with some natural blonde streaks in my hair. But it looks like my hair is getting darker now. I used to have blonde and black hair when I was younger.

I think Black hair is the best. It shines the most.
Usually, it's very sleek and pretty. It goes with basically any skin type, especially olive.

I prefer it the most, also it's easier to find lice if you do have it XD

red all the way. the irish have such a unique hair color and eye color. blonde is over-rated. but they are still good people too, and are smarter than people give them credit for. well, at least the natural blondes are...

Some of us are drawn to the color Red like a bull in Argentina, relentless, fixed, and pure. Less than four percent of the world population has naturally red hair. That is less than two percent in America. The gene for Ginger hair was discovered in 1995 and this discovery got little attention. This is not consistent as red heads have gotten lots of it. Some negative such as the association with witches and a crazy temper. Some are positive, such as our love for Lucy, The Little Mermaid, and the Feminist icon of Lilith, the first wife of Adam who insisted on sexual equality. So many deceptive MYTHS are of common knowledge concerning the crimson strand. Read up on the TRUE history of this striking genetic endowment.

Sixty percent of women who dye their hair do so at home. Of them twenty six percent choose to go blonde, twenty seven percent go basic brunette, and thirty percent choose to become redheads. The sale of at home red dye kits has gone up seventeen percent since the year two thousand hit.

Professor Jonathan Rees conducted a study of redheads at Edinburgh University. He identified the"gene for red hair" the melanocortin 1 receptor (MC1R), found on the 16th chromosome. He found that this single gene was responsible for red hair.

Red hair is a genetic mutation.

Red hair is seen on the heads of only four percent of people. Most of these exist in the U.K., the Republic of Ireland, and Australia.

The highest percentage of natural redheads in the world is in Scotland (13%), followed closely by Ireland with 10%. In the US, about 2% of the population are natural redheads.

There is a belief that redheads are prone to industrial deafness. This actually could be true as the melanocytes are found in the middle ear.

The color Green tempers red. Look at a color chart. This is why redheads are taught as children to wear lots of green. As if red hair is a shameful state of being.

In the early 1600’s, at the end of the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, the belief of Pixies (aka fairies) emerged in southwest England. They were then and have since been strongly associated with red hair for their mischievousness and otherworldly talents.

A 2002 study found that redhead are harder to sedate than any other people requiring twenty percent more anesthesia. Inadequate doses cause people to wake up during surgery and have increased recall of procedures. (I can vouch that study is accurate)
sorry the long post heheh Im a red hair fan though im brunette hehe

I looooooooooove red hair, on girls and boys. But I think all hair colours are lovely though. I have blonde hair myself, and so does the guy I have a huge crush on right now. But as I said, I like anything at all, so long as it's tastefully done and it suits the person. *Nods*

I'm a brunette, I was born a blonde, and I've got LOTS of red to my hair naturally.
Honestly, if I use either one of those shampoos, my hair will look good. I'd rather bring out the red in my hair moreso then the blonde and the brown.
I used to use Brilliant Brunette, and it basically made all my hair look brown, I didn't like that. I love how my highlights are natural, and I want them to stand out. But its hard when you have such a wide variety of color

.n.e.r.d.y., there is a shampoo from the same company that makes Brilliant Brunette that does a similar shampoo for redheads, I think. My mum always buys the brunette and blonde shampoos from them, but I'm sure I saw some for red hair once. :]

I have some red serum stuff by them, I put it in after a shower and it really does help, it brings out the red a lot. I don't want a whole head of red, but I love the highlights I do have.
I love the stuff, this serum stuff like brought out the highlights so much by the 2nd time I used it, people actually complimented me on my hair

:/ im blonde adn my hair has never turned green from swimming. and ive been an avid swimmer for a few years now.
anyway. I love brunettes. all my best friends are brunettes, all te guys ive ever been attracted to have been brunettes, my parents are both brunettes, i just love the different color tones in brunette hair. its just so pretty in my opinion. <3

however, most of my best friends love blondes best. and I love being blonde. I dont want to be a brunette it wouldnt work with me complexion or my eyebrows/arm hair what have you. And its not really genetics that would allow you to take over the world. my hubby is brunette, we have a daughter that is brunette and twins that are blonde. both of my parents are brunette, my siblings and i are all blonde. our hair has gotten slightly darker as weve matured but its still noticabley blonde. as long as the gene is there for blondes/red heads/what have you there is still going to be those hair colors around.
and there has also been a commercial that included the red heads, but ive only seen it like twice. i think the brunette kicked the butt of both the blonde and the red head at the end of it XP

.n.e.r.d.y., awesome. :]

Melody xyelle, your parents are both brunettes but you and your siblings are blonde? Weird, I thought the brunette genes were stronger than the blonde ones? Or did I misunderstand something? >.<

I'm a brunet.. but I'm amazed by red heads. I love red hair.. but it has to be really red. Not a mix of orange/blond ya know?

I don't care for blonds because most blonds have pretty dull hair and have to dye or highlight it to look good. It seems like too much of a pain to me.

Black, even though mine's dark-medium brown (which is weird because I'm 100% Chinese) but for versatility, definitely blonde because you can do anything you want to it without bleaching it.

Red and black hair are my favorites without a doubt. I myself have brown hair with natural red highlights, especially if I'm standing in the sun :) And though I quite like my hair, I have dyed it to a blue black to wonderful results.

I just love the fact that my brown is light enough that I can entertain myself with hair dyes when I need a change! XD

I love my black hair dearly. I would rather shave it all off than ever dye it.

However, I've always loved the looks of redheads too. Natural red is beyond beautiful. It's just those horrible dye jobs that give gingers a bad name. I don't know how many times I've encountered "natural" redheads who look like they just stuck their heads in a pail of Kool-Aid.

I love my hair. It is red and shiny.
I'm not ashamed to admit that I dye it though. I just wasn't lucky enough to get it naturally.
However, I'm not one of those people that makes red look bad. I'm pale and freckly, and the color I choose is natural and not fake looking. I hate that so much, when I see someone with a hideous color of red that doesn't look good on them. No offense to anyone, but red isn't for everyone. xD
Anyway, I've been dying my hair red for seven years. I love it. <3333

Well, if you have really blondish-white light blonde hair, then you'd stand out in a crowd..

I have black hair, but in my opinion, blonde hair is prettier, but there are more brunettes than blonde, so brunettes probably will take over some time or another..

Redheads aren't that common, so maybe that's why they're not included? o_o;

>>I personally find Brunettes more attractive for some reason. I used to think red was best but eh, haven't seen many around ever and the few I have seen don't look so great ^^;

Most of the people I've liked have had brown hair so that also helped change my opinion on a favorite.
