I don't think anything will ever top the trilogy. Invisible Ring comes pretty damn close, though, so I'm looking forward to reading Shadow Queen when it comes out in paperback. Tangled Webs . . . was rather like Dreams Made Flesh: entertaining enough, but lacking the same substance as the trilogy.
In the meantime, I'm saving up some money so I can buy the omnibus edition of the trilogy. The three original books I bought are now taking up much-needed space on my bookshelf. Once I get the omnibus, I can enable some other lucky soul to discover the joys of Anne Bishop by donating my original three copies (sniff!) to the library.

(! - I get rather attached to my first copy books)

I agree with you, tangled webs was lacking but it still kept me hooked. ^-^ I myself have been debiting on buying the omnibus edition. But I think I would miss my originals so I don’t think I will buy them.

I'm currently reading "Memnoch the Devil" by Anne Rice and finding it very difficult.
It's based on God and how the world was made, which, considering my Atheism-ness, I find very uninteresting 8/

I am currently re-reading Snowflower and the Secret Fan I forget who it's by, but I love it, a lot. It's in China, in the past, when women still got their feet bound. It follows two girls, Lily and Snowflower. They are lao tong (Old sames) and go through life together. The book is full of love, and a little war, and misunderstanding leading to hate, and of course jealousy... It also depicts the secret bond between two women...

It's beautiful, and this is probably my fourth time reading it...

Fine for you, I'm sure, but as I said, I've officially run out of room in my bookcase, so I need to cut back on the books I have, and wait to get the books I want. I'm going to install another bookshelf on one of my bedroom walls, where my second-favorite books will go, which will free up SOME space on the bookcase, but not enough considering I'm reading three series that have yet to end.

I'm now reading Skinned by Robin Wasserman. It's so intriguing and enticing! I'm throughly enjoying the moral and ethical questions it's raising. It makes you think; but not in a way that's extrenuous and detracts from the reading.

I'm currently reading Betrayed by P.C. and Kirstin Cast. It's the sequel to Marked. I love the series! It's so good!

I'm currently reading "Clash of the Sky Galleons" from The Edge Chronicles. It's set in a different world. This is the fourth book (if you read them chronologically) in the series of 13. It's great and I definately reccomend reading it. (Start with the mini book "Cloud Wolf")

Right now I just picked up an all purpose cookbook from the early 40's in extremely good condition. The American Woman's Cookbook. It apparently belonged to an "Aunt Flo" which you know um, is a euphemism for something extremely unappetizing.

It has quite a lot of prose in it, so I'll be reading that later.

I am currently reading The Ragwitch by Garth Nix. ...Again.

Last time I didn't get past the first chapter. :gonk: It is really good, though!

^ I'm not a big fan of The Ragwitch. When you're all done with it, post again and tell us about it!

Well, I finally got a new library card, at my new library. I've checked out a book on James Tissot, and a book on ancient Greek art philosophy. More on those later. D=

Today I just started reading "You are so Undead to me"

It is about a girl named Megan who is a zombie settler-think Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Basically these zombie come to find Megan and tell her their problems about being dead- their unfinished business if you will. Then she helps them "settle" or pass on.

I am only on chapter 4, but later on in the book, some dark magic is suppose to arise and make all these normal, none crazy zombies, into mean, flesh eating zombies.

I'll have to let y'all know how it turns out XD

And don't worry about Stevie Rae. Everything will be ok ^_~

I'm reading the Darkest Night by Gena Showalter and I'm loving every page of it. It's a romance, so some of you might not like it but it's just my cup of tea.

I don't know if this counts or not since it's not being read for fun. I'm reading Dyslexia and inclusion by Marion Farmer, Barbara Riddick and Christopher Sterling. It's for my inclusion class essay, I had to identify a barrier to learning and come up with a strategy to overcome it.

At moment, I JUST finished reading The Tower and the Hive, by Anne McCaffrey. Besides that one, I've been reading The Other Boleyn Girl for the third time, and Eleanor of Aquitaine: A Life by Alison Weir for the second time.
I'm thinking I may pick up Tangled Webs again.

Burning Wild by Christine Feehan

It's about a man who is half human and half leopard. It's full of drama so far. It could stand to have a little less sex talk... But it is interesting and has like random bursts of comedy... Like, two of the main guy's friends are following the main woman of the story as she goes on a date with some guy, and the more easygoing of the two says:

Quote:
Don't get too close to her. If she spots us, we're dead. She has a mean streak in her. She'll pull our coffee privileges.
So far, I'm liking it more than not liking it... I wish the guy would lighten up some. Jeez. I can see why he's so untrusting and all, but my goodness.

I am reading two books currently. The Nine Emotional Lives of Cats, and A Thousand Splendid Suns. Splendid Suns is a very beautiful, but sad book. Tomorrow I'll probably finish it and reread Firestorm, for Battle of the Books.

Finally finished the Ragwitch by Garth Nix! <3 It was AMAZING. I am sad it's over.

Now I'm reading Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. It's amazing! Oh, the psychology and history behind the main character as to why he's so messed up is fantastic.

I'm currently reading Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. It's off the list "1001 Books to Read Before You Die" which, I guess, is also a book. (It's a community on Shelfari.) And I have three others from this list and also The Scarlett Letter from the Easton Press's "100 Greatest Books Ever Written".
