  • I agree with you. I'm not bi just to be cool. I've had soooo many people on this one chat site that they're bi and then make jokes about it. It got annoying really fast.

Oh, by the way. My mom is like semi homophobic. I hate the stuff she says about gays/lesbians/bisexuals.
Yeah.
I hate it when girls say they are bi just to make guys like them. =/
Or just because they think a girl is pretty.
You're bisexual when you want to do SEXUAL things to a girl. x3
I've fallen for a girl before who always said she was "bi" and we flirted a lot.
But then when I asked her out, she was like.. "ooh, well, I don't really like you that way."
And yet she doesn't seem to like any other girl that way. ):
All she did was talk about boys.
It made me sad. ):
  • My friend is kinda like that. She says she's bi and she would date a girl, but would NEVER do anything sexual with a girl. She confuses me.

Out of curiousity... does ANYONE on this site disagree with homosexuality?

AS far as I read, I haven't seen any bashing on the topic...

So is everyone ok with it?

  • Yeah, I really like this site. Too many people on gaia are so homophobic. It's really annoying to see threads in GD bashing gay guys.

in our school we have a "gay/straight alliance club" everyone is free to join this club as long as they don't say anything to offend straights or homosexuals x] i find the club to be a hit although there have been some debates in the club to make sure that we understand the rules of how to respect each other.

there have been speakers that have spoken about how we are all equal and i must say there have been lots of crowds that join this club

and we don't make anyone say if they are gay or straight unless they want to x]

thats what i enjoy of this club it seems that we can act like a club but we are learning something its like a new step to clubs if you ask me

x] my friends gay and i went with him so he wouldn't feel shy since he felt a bit nervous and he is one of those that is afraid to admit to his gayness.

his parents don't even know but when i went with him it seems like a good relief for him and i felt like this club would work wonders x] and it showed a new feeling and pride for those that were homosexuals x]

  • That's good that you went with your friend. I wish the school I graduated from have that club, but since I live in a very small town in Arkansas. No one can picture a club like that here.

  • I really wish the school would have allowed that club there, still do actually. I've only known three openly gay guys at and two lesbians/bisexuals at my school. I have a feeling that a lot of them were closeted.

I myself have no problem with homosexuality and have meet a few in my life. One in high school and three in first year collage. I also have a professor(Female), who has several homosexual friends including my homosexual professor who me and my block mates have no problem with, the only thing bad I can say about him is that he has a tendency to forget homework he assigns us but other than that his class are usually filled with laughing and joking around.

This remind me of the time me and my best friend went to Mac'Donalds on our lunch break. We saw to guys hugging and even kissing. She of was all "Aww.~" (She's a Shounen Ai fan and so I am I.). Anyway everyone else eating there wasn't really bothered by them (including guys.) So I am really glad to see majority of Filipino teens don't make a big deal about homosexuals.

Now people who make such a big deal about homosexuals should just be told to quit it and find something that should be given more attention like crime, the homeless, and whatever. Those are the thing that people should do something about.

It's good to see that a lot of people in Menewsha don't mind or hate homosexuals. If this thread had been made in Gaia we might be bashed by the homophobic.

Well, if I had a problem with them, that would be pretty contradictory, being gay as I am. ;P Two of my best friends are bi, and I'm friends with most of the gay people in my area. I honestly don't see why some people freak out about homosexuals//bisexuals... More or less, homosexuals. I also don't see why bisexual is so much more acceptable than homosexuals. Bisexuals are just greedy! XD

  • I know what you mean! I'm bisexual and I don't even understand why people are more accepting toward bisexuals. ::sigh:: I guess I'll never understand why.

Bisexuality is probably accepted more often because people figure that means that they can still act straight, I suppose.

Being bi myself, makes me lean more towards wanting equal rights for everyone no matter what there sexual orientation is. My parents and a lot of my friends dont know. And im proud to say i have a very loving gf at the moment. Its hard. People judge very harshly if you love the wrong person. But you cant help it. its just how you are. I think they should let people that love each other get married. Because marriage should be about love not gender or any other trivial thing like that.

Yeah... I'm straight myself, as I'm sure I've said numerous times before (xP), but I still feel that equal rights are necessary for me to feel that it's truly a fair and free country. I don't see any reason why homosexuals shouldn't have the right to marry, or adopt.

As someone who is mistaken for gay frequently, I can safely say how degrading people can be. I'd also like to point out that some of the people who say the most degrading things are devoutly Christian, and are simply believe what their religion teaches.

Makes you think.

i've often wondered why some people do make such a big deal about others being gay..

in my workplace, i often find that it's the men who are more homophobic than the women.

for example, a man finds out that another man is gay and starts off with all the..'if he touches my arse i'm gonna kill him'... rubbish

that's always irritated the hell out of me, i argued the point with one particularly bigoted idiot..that if a man is gay he is automatically going to want to seduce every other male in the vicinity then?so of course all lesbians fancy every female too? Bigots can't seem to understand that being gay means you're still only attracted to whoever ticks your boxes, not everyone! not that you're some rampant sex beast.and you're not likely to try and force yourself on someone! unless they have a particularly wicked streak of course! some raging homophobes deserve to be hit on like that, just to teach them a lesson.

and do you know what, i'm pretty sure that these straight men who make a fuss about gays, are secretly disappointed when a gay man doesn't find them attractive *nods*

anyway, i think a lot of people pick up their narrow-minded views from their parents. burly tattooed fathers watching tv shows like will and Grace and going on about faggots and queers and so on. and if a child has enough intelligence to form their own opinions, they still have the gauntlet of peer pressure to run. i think a lot of kids are afraid of being accepting towards gays, for fear of being judged as one themselves.

hopefully by the time most people reach adulthood, they're strong enough to stand up for their ideals and opinions and not give a damn what their contemporaries think. but many do still feel the need to lurk in that closet.

but one thing that often puzzles me, when a man comes out, why do so many of them suddenly become really camp?
i've never got that at all, i'm not homophobic in the slightest, but campness makes me want to shoot people i'm afraid

  • Men are typically more homophobic in the "if he touches my ass I'll kill him" type way, but it makes me sick because they're angry that they feel vulnerable - no more vulnerable than women do every day, in fact, a great deal less - about something that they do to women all the time. Dude, if you're concerned about guys doing that to you, don't cheer on the guys who do it to chicks. That's pretty hypocritical if you ask me.

god yes!! they really don't like it when the shoe is on the other foot do they?

plus, most of them can't even see what hypocrites they're being, that's such a good point Poet! thanks for bringing it up!

could be a debate subject of its own, but i think it might end up being a bit too aggressive after a while..

No, I do not find nothing wrong with it. I have a close friend who recently "came out of the closet", and as long as he did not act weird around me, we remained friends. After all life is to short to live it with somebody you dont love, when you could be really happy with some other person that you really love. As for Gay Marriage I am okay with that to. I do not think Bush should have turned that illegal. It is after all, their lives. Everybody should have the right to be free.
