Wow. I cried a little bit on the inside when I found out that this thread was on the second page! Gah. That's horrible. I'll have to get to doing some posting here. I've been busy trying to make things go a little bit in the RP forum with the Kingdoms stuff (working on making a Kingdom actually) that I've totally neglected this thread. Well no more! I shall post later today with a few little ditties.

I know this isn't an art forum but I drew a picture of what I think Suki probably looks like. At least to me.
For everyone's enjoyment. I'll get to posting soon.

Drabble Number: 15
Characters: Milly Tudball, Lab Tech Joe.
Drabble List Number: 18
Location: The Lab
Time: Valentines Day
Special Notes: N/A
Milly sat at her desk, stabbing at the keys on her keyboard with extra venom that day. It was Valentine's Day, one of the few days out of the year that Milly really despised. It wasn't because it was a day that celebrated couples when she was single, she had been given plenty of chances to have a valentine when she was younger but she had quashed those immediately. It also wasn't because of all the chocolate and pink and red candies, she had no qualms with sugary things. It was the fact that the day celebrated the heart as a source of love, which Milly knew to be completely against science and therefore wrong.
Foolishly, people in the lab had decided that it was something they wanted to get into the mood for. Within the restrictions of having a sterilized lab setting, people had set up a few pink and red hearts on the windows of their labs or offices and others had given out little valentines day cards. Milly had gotten a few but she had put them through the shredder, sometimes right in front of the person who had given them to her. She knew that they actually didn't care for her, but that they were just being nice and giving one to everyone, so they didn't understand why they were acting so miffed when she did it.
People were also going out for drinks afterwards which was annoying. Milly actually did enjoy a little bit of red wine after work as a change for the regular double double latte she got, however she hadn't been invited. Perhaps it was because of the shredding of the valentines day cards, it was quite possible that the invitation was on one of them but she never had bothered reading it. Without a verbal invitation, she wasn't going to go though.
"Hello? Dr. Tudball?" Lab Tech Joe knocked, afraid as ever, at Milly's slightly ajar door.
"What." It really wasn't a question, but more of a statement, daring him try and continue whatever he came there for.
"I brought you something, Dr. Tudball." Joe's thin frame was shaking a little bit, and something was rattling in his hand as he approached her desk. Milly just stared at him, not caring to respond.
"I - I - I know you don't like Valentines day, " Joe said, the rattling sound continuing this time from behind his back where he had hidden his hand, "But I know it's not always the best feeling when you don't really get anything or get useless stuff from people who you know don't care. So I got you these."
Joe quickly put the thing that was rattling behind his back on top of Milly's paperwork. Milly just stared at the small rectangular package.
"I see you getting these from the vending machine all the time." Joe said, with a little more courage as he stared at the desk instead of Milly, "So I thought it would be good to get you them today. 'Cause you're my boss and all and I care... about stuff."
Milly paused, staring at the small box of Milk Duds on her desk. They were indeed her favourite and Joe must have been pretty observant to see that she bought them from the vending machine. She only bought them once a month as a treat for herself, and for him to notice something that infrequent said a lot.
"... Thank you, Joe." Milly said, a little taken aback, thus dropping her prickly demeanour briefly, "You can leave early today with pay if you like."
"Oh. Ok. Thanks." Joe was amazed at this brief change in Milly, but he knew better than to stick around and press his luck so he left quickly, but not without feeling a little good about himself.
Milly picked up the box of chocolate-caramel goodness, opened it, and ate one. Then she put the box in a drawer and went back to typing her report.

Drabble Number: 16
Characters: Mariah Polly, her brother Benjamin
Drabble List Number: 83
Location: Near the lake.
Time: When they were younger.
Special Notes:
"Do you really think we'll find anything?" Mariah asked, clomping through the muddy ground in her hand me down boots.
"Sure we will. People lose all sorts of things at the lake." Benjamin replied, stomping extra hard in the mud so that it splattered all over Mariah's dress.
"Hey!" Mariah stomped back but only got her own dress a little more muddy than actually getting her older brother muddy.
"What?" Ben stuck his tongue out at Mariah, which she grabbed and yanked on it with a dirty hand.
"Ugh!" Ben spluttered, spitting out the muddy saliva from his mouth. Mariah just laughed and continued walking.
"Do you think we'll find lots of money?" Mariah asked as they continued to walk on their way to the lake, "Like gold coins or jewelery?"
"Oh ya. People lose all sorts of shiny things at the lake." Ben nodded emphatically, "They just take of their clothes and go for a swim. They don't notice what they have before and after in their pockets."
"You'd think that they would notice if a big gold chain went missing." Mariah stated, twirling on one foot in the mud before continuing on, "I would. It's too shiny and pretty for anyone to forget about."
"Well, not everyone cares for shiny things like you do, 'cause you're a girl." Ben stated very matter of factly.
"HEY! I don't like shiny things!" Mariah protested, giving her brother a shove just to prove that she was just as tough even if she was a girl.
"Yes you do! You're a girl. All girls like shiny things." Ben stated as if he knew all the secrets of the universe, "Will's wife likes shiny things. She's always asking him to buy her more."
"Well Will's wife is a silly lady. And I'm not like her!" Milly pouted, giving Ben another shove, "I don't care a whip for shiny things. See if I care if we find anything! I'll just .... sell them! I wouldn't need to keep them. I would just sell them or give them back."
"You tell yourself that Mariah." Ben said, amused by his little sister's defiance, "But you're a girl and girls like shiny things."
"No I DON'T!" Mariah stomped angrily, so angry that when she shoved Ben this time he toppled right over into a pile of mud.
"See if I care!" Mariah yelled, picking up a big pile of mud and throwing it in his face. Then she stomped all the way back home, leaving Ben to pick himself up.

Drabble List Number: 65
Location: In the Midshipmen's quarters

"Aaaahhhh!" Haimet cried, jumping back from his side of the desk.
"What is it?" Suki asked, looking up from her own work on the other side of the table.
"My ink! It's spilled everywhere!" Haimet said, showing her his left hand covered in black ink, as the ink pool started to spread on the table from the overturned ink bottle.
"How did that happen?!" Suki asked, scooping up her own papers and placing them far away from the mishap.
"I was just righting and then I guess I knocked it over with my hand." Haimet said gloomily, turning his hand so that the ink didn't run down his forearm.
"Oh Haimet, it's so expensive!" Suki said woefully, as she picked up the little bottle and with the little wooden letter opener, tried to sweep some of the ink back into the bottle.
"I know. It cost me an entire weeks pay." Haimet said, watching Suki try to salvage the ink.
"It cost us an entire weeks pay. Now I can't write my letters either. We were supposed to share it." Suki said, a little angry, but not too angry. She could see that Haimet was very genuinely upset at the spilled ink.
"No worries. I'll just have to trade some of my spirits rations for some ink with one of the other midshipman, or if I'm lucky, a lieutenant." Suki continued, managing only to spread the ink into the desk a little bit more. It was a great big black patch on the many times dented wooden desk.
"How am I going to sign my letter?" Haimet asked, looking at his unsigned letter to a distant relative. Suki grabbed his left hand and pressed his inky index finger into the page.
"There." Suki said, looking at the fingerprint, "Good enough."

Suki listened to the song as she maintained her post on the first watch, the fair breeze and the midnight sky full of stars and a few clouds keeping her company. They had been at sea for weeks now without sight of land and were now on food rations. The men were starting to become ornery but the captain, in his wisdom, had decided that a night of entertainment was to be had. So all the men rallied together and picked the finest of each of their crews to compete in a singing competition for an extra ration of spirits which was ironically, the only thing they had in excess. Suki unfortunately had the responsibility of the first watch, but she could still hear the songs rise up through the old salt soaked wood and reach her ears.

It was a sad, wistful song singing of old loves. The singer was quite good and Suki could tell that he sung with passion and feeling, something that not all good singers had. The silence that surrounded his singing let her know that all the men were mesmerized by the song, probably thinking about their own loved ones before they were pressed into service, or left them in search of steady money. Most of the men hadn't probably seen their loved ones in almost a year now, and probably hadn't heard from them in months. The Constance had been at sea for quite some time now and no dispatches had arrived since three months ago.

Suki imagined some of the men would probably be fingering some kind of token that their own loved ones had given them. Men of the sea were in general very superstitious and always carried some sort of charm on their person that they could use to ward of evil spirits, bad luck, or keep their loved one's spirit near to their heart. Those things would probably be the only thing that a man would not trade for his life. Suki thought it was one of the most honorable things that a man could do even if she thought that superstitions were silly, needless things that often ended up badly. The deep kind of love that these men could show from their grizzled and sun tanned exteriors in these moments was truly touching.

There was a silence as the last few words of the last line trailed off. Suki couldn't help but smile at the end of the song. It was a good one, it reminded the men of their loved ones but still gave them a hope to cling to through extremely bad circumstances; the hope that they would see their loved ones again. It was an excellent choice by whomever had sung it. To agree with Suki's thoughts, clapping and shouting immediately erupted from down below as the men were brought from their own thoughts to give the singer a hearty applause.

I need to update this thread a whole lot more. Writing drabbles is a lot harder than expected it to be honestly. However, it's good to have a challenge and really have to wrap one's head around the character they've created.
I have to say, seeing Pirates 3 has really put me in the mood for writing a few Suki drabbles. Love all that sailing and whatnot. Even though pirates are cool, I still have to really cheer for the British navy deep down inside. They are just the poop.

New Character!
Name: Tatianya "Tati" (said "Tah-tee") Sherstibytov nee Tanja de Paulain
Age: 21
Race:Human
Gender: Female
Status: Aristrocrat
Class: Gossip
Origin: Originally from Erios but imported to Duvah at a very young age to marry the elderly Lord Nikolas Sherstibytov by her father.
Weapon(s): Her wicked tongue. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a safety mechanism and is apt to go off at any time without the victim knowing it. Though she doesn't own a gun (her husband does), she's also an excellent marksman. She fairs best from far distances and would make a very good sniper if it wasn't for the fact that she felt she looked too masculine holding a gun.
[b]Physical Description: Normally straight long blonde hair that she curls meticulously every day into a half up-do that is fashionable of the younger people in Duvah at the moment. Fair skin, brown doe eyes, and impish features allow her to get away with a lot more than she should really. Of a normal height, around 5'5'' and of a plumpish build. While skinny would normally be much more desirable, Tatianya's build only really shows in her chest and cheeks making her look like a cherub. Usually appears in what is known as "baby" hues, but only the ones that flatter her the most (see Green, Blue, Pink, and Yellow)
Personality: Tati is very cheerful, flirty and endearing by nature. However, being the horrible gossip that she is she can be extremely mean and spiteful behind another's back. Devoted to her friends (until they do something that doesn't please her or she finds no use for them), unforgivingly wicked to her enemies... behind their backs. She is also very feminine and considers herself a princess of sorts. She could care less about politics unless there was some juicy gossip to be had in it or she could be the first to tell everyone.
History: Tanja was born in Deinos, Erios, to a very wealthy noble family of the de Paulains. The youngest of two children (she has an older brother Frederik IV), Tanja was given everything she ever wanted. Happily for her mother, Tanja has always been very pretty and her mother taught her every trick in the book to use those looks for her own benefit. She was also sent to Chiazu briefly for school in her earlier years and made many friends there.
Her father, Frederik III, knowing the value of a pretty daughter sought her a well established husband immediately when she began her woman cycles. Although the de Paulains were of the nobility, her father had serious invested interested in trade with Duvah and looked for a noble with similar interests and situations. The only man who, in Frederik's opinion and Tanja's horror, fitted the bill was the extremely elderly Lord Nikolas Sherstibytov. An ex-general in the King's military, landowner, extremely wealthy and known to have favour with the royal family, Nikolas was unmarried and looking for a young bride to continue on the family name. He and Frederik immediately came to an agreement and Tanja was shipped off to Duvah at the age of 15 to be married.
Taking her husband's name and changing her first name slightly to make it more acceptable in the Duvahian circles, Tanja became Tatianya. She has been living in Duvah ever since but still keeps her ties with friends and family in Erios and Chiazu strong. Perhaps this is why she seems to know a lot more than anyone else in Duvah besides the members of the Royal family and the King's privy council. She really doesn't have much else to do either, besides gossip. Her husband only dotes on her in expensive things since he knows that love grows fonder with absence and she's only required to see his bed twice a year.
She has a young son, Wilhelm, whose looks are all his mother and nothing like his father. It has been debated the as to the identity of the father but both Nikolas and Tatianya swear Wilhelm is legitimate.
