I'm almost done rewatching Super S now. Got to the part with the entrance of the Amazon quartet. I feel bad for the trio, not getting the info needed until it was too late. I might try cosplaying Tigers- eye if I can convince friends to go as the other two.

This would be awesome - I really enjoyed the trio, especially Fish Eye.

I thought it was funny that they dubbed him as a girl; yet still aired the episode where he was modeling topless.

I watched it in Japanese. I find it really funny that Tiger-eye and Hawk's eye are constantly calling him on his crossdressing.

But rememer they did the same thing to Zoycite, granted both Zoy and Fish are extrememly femmy.

I loved the Amazon trio! I have several episode in Japanese on a vhs tape and pen-pa had given me. Hee hee the lemon pie episode is hilarious because of the pronunciation differences. The Japanese language has no "L" so they substiture an "R" instead. hee hee remon :P

Yeah, hence the reason I've never seen it in it's entirety.

However, I have a question that just popped into my head. CN wouldn't touch the genderbending with a ten foot stick . . . yet they were perfectly okay with crossdressing. I know that they probably feel that the genderbending is more extreme, but really, it seems to me like it's really not all that much worse than Haruka's crossdressing. I thought she was a guy for a good chunk of the time there, so it sort of weirded me out that she was really a girl, and really chummy with her "cousin". This is of course when I was like eleven.

Forgot about that they were trying to pass them off as cousins. I didn't watch much of the english episode after that. Can't remember why I think I was in college or something like that. I prefer the original Japanese episode anyway. Much more enjoyable because the voice actors actually care about their character roles.

Sailor Moon was the series that got me into anime. I will foreverly love it. I own the whole series in Japanese, had the movies until they were stolen, and I have the special "Ami's first Love". I was told there were two other movies by two or three people, but I can't find them. One of them had said that they had them, but failed to let me borrow them. I hope someday I will find them, if they truely exist. I also want to own the liveaction series. It was so funny! Power Ranger style. I only own two of the manga, but plan on finding the rest of them. Also, when I went to Japan Town in California, they had two manga that looked like it was a seperate story off the Stars. I want to get them. Even though they are in Japanese, I can still look cool to those who can't read japanese. I can read japanese, but can only understand alittle, so it won't look too cool if they ask what it said. I could always lie. ^.^

My favorite characters are Makoto(Sailor Jupiter), Minako(Sailor Venus), and Seiya(Sailor Star Fighter). Favorite Villians: Sailor Tin Neko, Sailor Aluminum Siren, and Nephrite.
Hated Chibi-usa!! SO ANNOYING!!

Oh man, good luck finding actual copies of the manga. I managed to catch it all before it went out of print, but it's tough to find now.

eeehhh...the series isn't bad per-say...but it's not entirely that deep of an anime, and it's really predictable in many ways as well. I haven't read the manga, but I was told that the manga was better than the anime. I always found every episode has the exact same base plotline. The villain(s) target a person they're going to go after (who most of the time has SOME sort of connection with the Sailor Scouts...though it's not the case all the time), the Sailor Scouts are dealing with some sort of problem in their lives that they deal with in that episode that most of the time includes the person who's going to be attacked, the villain attacks, the Scouts come to save the day, but then Tuxedo mask most of the time ends up helping them. Every episode of the different arcs I saw were like that. As I said, I didn't hate the series, but it's not one I'd watch if I want to watch a series that has more depth.

There was one arc of the series I did enjoy for the villains though  it was the arc where the villains were trying to find Pegasus, I forget what the arc was called, but I loved the Amazon Trio (I don't know what their Japanese group name was) I just loved how the three of them had such interesting character dynamics between the three of them. The three of them almost acted like siblings which amused me quite a bit. so I love that part of the arc for the soul reason of those three. I didn't like the Amazon Quartet very much...I found the 4 of them to be rather annoying. I remember kind of feeling like they were pretty static characters through most of their part of the arc.

I have two more to finish my collection, and as it stands, I'm probably going to end up paying out the nose for them. Once you find em, depending on which volume it is, they can be pricey.

I wonder if comic vendes at convention would have any copies. I've never thought to look for for them there.

Yes the show can be predictable but I think it's the various chracter personalities and the developement of Sailor Moon's maturity that makes the show interesting. Besides that it starts to get darker when the Dark Moon Circus shows up. :) These are favorite episode of mine

actually, you can find the manga on ebay, but you have to pay a pretty penny for them. I think it is worth it, because it is just $20 and we all know the price will most likely go up more. They are hard to find and they quit publishing them long time ago. The last time I saw them up at the bookstore was back in 2004.

I wonder if it's licencing conflicts that keep them from republishing again. I mean it's not like the series wasn't popular. There are plenty of older manga series that are still in publication that were just as popular if not more.Though I wouldn't want to buy them in English if they are still calling her Bunny in that version. I'm fine reading scans as long as I can find all of the chapters. My brother bought me most of the mangas in Japanese since he lives there. So I can use scans as the Englsih translation refference. :)

I think they got rid of it because the series has already finished and it is older, so they thought everyone who wanted had already bought it or something like that. I am sure they will do the same for the Inuyasha manga when or if it has already finished. I don't ever see Ranma 1/2 in Borders or Barnes and Noble, because it is older and finished.

Ranma 1/2 was available at my Borders up untill they did the recent rearrange to accomodate a new book section. I bought a copy of Ranma 1/2 at B&N back in March. Inu-Yasha, I was actually hoping they would re-release copies in the appropriate left-to right format. Oh well so I guess my hopes of owning translated copies of Sailor Moon are slim. But I had thought if I can come accross all of the scaned chapters versions which she is called Usagi and not Bunny which I hate. Then I could just print them all out and do the binding myself. It would be ruff but at least it will be mine :D

I remember being at a convention that had the books - selling them for $40 D:
I was like, "Ummm... I can't afford this."

So seeing the first book at the downtown library was really awesome xD They have the second volume on their website but said it got "lost." I imagine someone decided to just keep it.

Oh, and the books are no longer in print because the license ran out and couldn't get it renewed.

I hate when things go out of print D:
Makes obtaining them so hard.

How many knew that Saban bid to dubbed Sailor Moon? Yup, I am sure a lot of you HAD to come across this video:

I first came across it from my cousin. I about pissed myself watching it. They re-drew the entire series, adding live action parts.

*falls off chair*

Okay, I watched it again... lmao

What?! Why would they do that? That's like loads of extra work.

That's one of the reasons why they didn't go through with it; in the tape you can hear one guy saying it was cheaper just to dubb the original animation. Plus if I was Mrs. Takauchi I would crap myself before I would allow anyone to mutilate my beloved series like that.
