My parents wouldn't do that, thank god.
My dad works with computers as his job, so...
Doing that isn't really an option.

Perhaps you should help pay for a better service. I made squat for money in high school, but once I reached near eighteen years of age, I started paying my own telephone, cellphone and Internet bills each month. That way no one could complain.

My mom bought an old shitty, big chunky scratched up monitor for $350+ once.

And once she was going to use my computer, and I turned off the monitor so when she started it up, nothing appeared.
Then she started going on about how stupid my computer was and if there was something wrong with it.

>.<
My dad went to Best Buy to buy us a new computer? I was right behind him watching. He went up to the aisle of computers, pulled out the ads from that day's newspaper, flip it, and went straight to the computer that was on sale. He glanced at the info, called me over, and asked me whether the computer was 'good'.

*rolls eyes*

We ended up with an HP but I really wanted something better... like more memory.

My dad and mom are clueless with the computers... they're always asking me for help. *sigh*

Also, my dad got us dial up from MSN, thinking, since it was microsoft and we had Windows, they must be compatible!

Uggg. I really hate our 50.6 K speed. REALLY wish my dad would stop complaining about how slow our computer is when it's his fault for not buying something faster. He even asked me once, 'is High speed Internet faster than our dial up?' Well, duh. 'yes. can we get it?' dad: 'Well, our computer can't be that much slower...' right...

Ouch DX Mine is 100mbps which is pretty fast but I still find myself getting pissed when a site is running slow. I've lost all patience since getting DSL ^^;;
