I only like a couple yaoi mangas, most of them can be pretty dirty... I think the first one I read was Gravitation, the most recent one I read was Love Neko, it was a pretty funny yet sweet manga. :)

Heh. Ah, yaoi! I loves it, and the first yaoi story I read was... I think it wasn't even anime/manga, and then eventually I started reading yaoi manga, fanfics and such. I don't remember ever watching a yaoi anime though...

I want to pose a question out to people for this thread. Why do you like Yaoi? What was it that first got you into yaoi, and what about it is keeping you hooked?

A high school friend of mine got me into yaoi actually. She ended up becoming my first girlfriend. But yeah. When we first started being friends, she got me hooked on Rockman.exe yaoi and then another friend pulled me into the yaoi fandom even further, and I've been hooked ever since. What I love about yaoi is that you have to be so much more imaginative about the situation when you're writing a fanfiction or doing a rp. Like if you're doing an actual storyline with the rp. Coming up with situations that will bring the two characters together have to be carefully thought out because in our society being gay isn't considered "normal" to a lot of people. I don't think that at all...I just know that's how a number of people think. So creating the situation is a bit more difficult because in most cases, you can't just think up a het situation and then just make the two characters male. And I just really like the challenge.

Why do I like yaoi? I like it because its a different type of realationship in a way, since i've seen so many boyXgirl relationships I guess I find yaoi more apealing and unquie. :)

What first got me into yaoi was like what I said its orginiality. XD

What keeps me reading yaoi are some pretty heart-warming, cute stories that i've read. That and in the past I RPed in a yaoi once and I had alot of fun. Its nice to not always have one protector and one princess, they both have to help each other out. XD

My first was also Gravitation. I have the DVD's. :) Then I went into fan girl mod and so on. I read Loveless too and so forth.
The reason I like Yaoi was because I could compare my favorite couple into one. The one's I liked and the one's I disliked I didn't care for. :D It's just amazing how freedom of power can do so much. xD

I wasn't much into same sex partnering I preferred straigt, but my rp partner persuaded me to look at some of it and I got hooked. I still like regular hentai, but yaoi is fun too but I really don't think I will ever like yuri.

Dun be a hater but I adore Clephiroth pairings. I know some people are like against it but it is totally plausible.
MikagexTieto. 07-Ghost has like 3 yaoi "hints" in it atleast. Mikage Quotes 'I love you, Tieto.' Atleast 3 times. You can look it up.

Also After School Nightmare was an interesting collection. It makes you use your mind...

Well my fave pairing switch to often to give a definite. Though right now I'm drooling at GaryxPetey(From the game Bully). But by the end of today I could be chasing HomunculusxEike(From the game Shadow of Destiny). Or JoeyxKaiba. And I'm not even a big Yu-Gi-Oh! fan.

To answer TheYaoiButterfly's question. I think I originally got into Yaoi when I was roleplaying with a friend and our male characters suddenly got involved. O.O After that I kinda opened my eyes to it and got really interested in yaoi. It's been love ever since.

Word! That's one of my favorite yaoi series.

I've been a yaoi fan for quite a while. My favorite mangakas are Fumi Yoshinaga, Miyamoto Kano, and old-school CLAMP. (Okay, granted CLAMP isn't completely yaoi, but their old works are definitely borderline.)

I kinda stumbled upon yaoi when I bought one as a christmas gift for my guy friend. I wanted to see why everyone I know that like manga likes them so much, so I started reading it. Then I realized it was for 18+... my friend is only 16, did I do a bad thing? I don't think I did. He's very mature. The yaoi was called Don't Rush Love. I forget who it is by, but I thought it was a really good story.

First time I stumbled across yaoi I was 8 and didn't understand what it was XD I properly got into it when I was about 11 and became fully fledged fanboy of it when I was about 15. =3

The first one I read was FAKE. But before that I was finding non-canon yaoi pairings in most of the anime I watched. (Gundam Wing, Digimon, etc)

...Which reminds me, my ex-friend still has most of my FAKE manga, and has done for three years ¬_¬ Rawr. Not gonna be getting that back now.

I've never read any of the manga...but I've seen the animes.

Gravitation is a Yaoi manga...but the anime is Shonen-ai.

Junjou Romantica is complete Yaoi...and is complete

Loveless is a Shonen-ai anime as well and it is soooo adorable.

Princess Princess is a Shonen-ai anime and the guys in there are adorable too.

There are manga's out for them but I haven't read them yet. I know my books store carries, Loveless and Princess Princess...but not Gravitation and Junjou Romantica.

I've only really watched one yaoi and I forgot the name. I just know that the guy who plays Yami and Yugi on Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, Dan Green, played one of the yaoi boys, which made me laugh like HECK! XDD
(and he did such a good job too! 8DD)
but yea, I just know and love yaoi because of all the pics I see on DevainArt and google when you type it in. heh heh heh heh

Oh, you should see my boxes of yaoi manga I had to move when moving to my boyfriend's place; however, most the yaoi I read now comes from webcomics on Smack Jeeves. First yaoi manga I read was when I was 11... FAKE, I believe. I still have it. c:

I've read and watched many yaoi / shounen-ai series, but I enjoy Junjou Romantic and Junjou Romantica 2 the most. I heard rumors of a third anime series of it being released. I truly hope it happens and that there is far more Nowaki and Hiroki in it.

Yeah, it was probably Naruto that got me into yaoi. Sasuke/Naruto had to be my first pairing.

Right now I've recently gotten into Hetalia: Axis Powers (a web-comic about personified countries) and for an anime/web-comic that's not meant to be yaoi, there's sure a lot of hints to it. Prussia/Canada, Spain/S.Italy, America/Japan, Germany/N.Italy, Sweden/Finland, France/England, and Russia/China and my favorite pairings so far.

I can't even remember my first yaoi, but it was probably fanfiction for a manga/anime, if that counts. . . . Otherwise, my first yaoi was also Gravitation. Although I generally like BL better, since a lot of yaoi is just about sex (or a PWP) and I like stories. That's why Gravitation and Fake make me so happy! (I'm sure there are others with descent stories out there, but either I can't remember them right now or I haven't read them.)

My first Yaoi manga would have to have been Haru wo Daiteita. Unfortunately, the company publishing it (BeBoy) went bankrupt...so no more manga :((. But I love all Yaoi and I can't wait for yaoi-con this year! Yaaaay!

Oh gosh... the first Yaoi I saw or read... I believe it was Ai no Kusabi, then I saw Haru wo Daiteita (did i spell that right? o_O) and some others. Eventually I got fed up with the plot lines never going how I wanted and started to write my own yaoi stories just so I could make the endings how I wanted them. xD
I do have one yaoi manga that i've never been able to put down though called Boy Princess, well it's more shonen-ai I suppose, but I still love it dearly. The story and artwork is amazing. =3
