Anybody out there fans of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney/Gyakuten Saiban? I started playing it a couple months ago after hearing my good friend rave about it for a while. The first game is hard to find (at least in my area) whereas the second game (Justice for All) is in abundance! Hopefully the 3rd one will be coming out to the U.S. soon since there are talks about having it localized here, and the 4th one is due to come out in Japan April 12th!

In short, it is an visual novel/adventure game where you play as an up-and-coming attorney and your goal is to make sure your clients are not guilty : DDD More information can be found on the sites provided or on Google.

Discuss anything PW/GS-related here!

I play it... Though I have trouble with it, it seems. ^.^; I find all the obvious things that conflict between the evidence and what the people are saying but I can never seem to submit it at the 'right time' Or in the right order... I suck x.X;

  • LOLOL YESSSSS~!
    Phoenix Wright, FTW!
    I own and have played both games that are available and translated in the US, and I loved every bit of them. It just made you think way too creatively/randomly, it was amazing! Yes, I had gotten stuck for quite some time on some of the cases, but then when I was playing the second game, I only really got stuck during the Psyche-Locks.

    Ho'mans, I love this series so much, I can't wait for the next ones to be available in the states/translated. xDD
    For some anime convention in the future, my boyfriend and our friends want to get together and be Phoenix, Edgeworth, Gumshoe, Mia, Maya, and Pearl. >w< <33333

I freakin' love these games. The first one much more than the second one, 'cause I really didn't like the Circus case, but other than that, they rule. I'm dying for the third one >.< and the rumored Wii version and the rumored anime and mangas (I/ve d/led some of the translated mangas, but I want a whole series!).

I love all the regular characters to death. They're so rich and funny. Nick, Maya (Maya!), Edgey, Gumshoe, Judge, Mia ... man, pretty much everyone. I even love to hate Von Karma and Damon Gant (what a douche!).

Favorite cases ... hmm, well, I'd go with cases 4 and the bonus 5th case of the first game. The stories there were top notch and they made you think. Plus, it was fun when Edgey helped you out with Gant. I also enjoyed the two cases with Maya as the defendant, even though I hate seeing her so sad.

Favorite pairings ... well, Maya and Nick are totally together. They hint at it enough and their reactions to Pearl's inquiries kind of make it clear for me. Other than that, Franzika and Edgey is okay, but I saw that as more of a brother/sister thing.

@Manga; Oh no! It takes a lot of thinking and sometimes the contradictions are so obscure that you really have to look closely at EVERYTHING. I tend to overanalyze so much in this game XD

@Legend; TAKE THAT D<!!11

@Zurie; http://www.forums.court-records.net/....php?f=3&t=961 !!! Scheduled release date for the 3rd game in September! <3333

@Victor; I haven't had time to finish the 2nd game (I'm still at the beginning of the 3rd case and my friend said it was extremely frustrating o_o;; is that how it was for you). I really loved Case 5 for PW1 though, especially since it was more DS-exclusive. Forensics ftw.

Gant was quite the character as well, especially with his long, drawn-out pauses of silence.

those games are freakin' awesome! I beat the first one (it took me forever, damn last case!) and bought the sequel as soon as it came out. However, I haven't really had time to play and only got through the first case :(

The third case was a trial (no pun intended) for a number of reasons. First, I didn't really care about the defendant ... he was a little annoying. Second, none of the witnesses were amiable at all except Regina. Moe, Acro, Ben and Trilo ... just excruciating to talk to. Then, the case had a lot of red herrings and a couple of points where you had to lead the court down a path to get to a piece of evidence you need (like, it takes a lot of presenting OTHER evidence just to make your point, when it real life you'd just present the piece of evidence you needed and say your piece. It's hard to explain. Maybe no one else had this problem. I knew what to prove and how to prove it, it was just a problem of getting to be ABLE to present it). I dunno. It was definitely the low point of the games, but still playable.

I just finished the 3rd case tonight... That was drawn out a lot longer than I thought it should have. I got particularly annoyed with Moe, but then again, I have this inner bias against clowns in general ;__;''

Yeah, I didn't like having to present so much evidence to prove one thing in order to get to what I was actually proving. That and Max was just... wow. o__o; FA-BU-LOUS!!!

At least I got that one done with. I'm finally on the 4th case! :) Can't wait to start on that one.

Yeah, I haven't talked to anyone that thoroughly enjoyed Max's case. The 4th case more than makes up for it ... really gets you emotionally involved. Although that one can be tricky too, but it's less out there with the evidence than the third case.

Anyone out there actually LIKE Max's case?

  • In the third case in the second game, it was hard for me to really like any of the characters, really. I actually liked Max's character 'cause he was pretty much one of those pretty boys that had a huge secret that he just blatanly confessed to you and you only, but I liked how he was so overly emotional yet quite stupid(again, in reference to his secret).
    I liked Regina 'cause she was bubbly and cute, and I thought her relationship with Maya was adorable.
    And Ben, not with Trilo, I thought was adorable because you know it was really him that wanted to propose to Regina, but he just doesn't have the courage to speak in general without Trilo.
    Other than that, yeah, all of the red herrings in that case pissed me off to no end. As well as Moe and how he thought he was the funniest thing ever. Reading that text is just as painful as listening to my Algebra professor do her little faggot giggle when she thinks she has made a joke, then no one laughs.

...
Freakin' Moe. -___-

4th case seems to be promising, especially with all of the reappearances of the characters from the Steel Samurai case. Oldbag ftw!<3 *rat-tat-tat-tat*

OLDBAAAAG!

She was the best character ever. I seriously laughed like a madwoman whenever she appeared on screen. xD But then again, I just seriously adored the Steel Samurai case in general.

I love this series. A friend of mine introduced it to me not too long ago, and I immediately went out and bought "Justice for all", not realizing that there were two games out at the time. xD Oh well. So that said, I still need to beat the second game sometime.

But yes. Edgeworth makes me happy in general... and I love Phoenix. He's adorable, and the cases are sooo addicting. I can't wait until more of the games come out.

By the way, everyone's seen all those Phoenix Wrong! flash sprite animations, right? The ones where they add movie/TV clips to the animated sprites for hilarity's sake? If not, I'll post links later. I don't remember if Court Records has links to them.

One of them proves that the perfect voice for Phoenix is none other than ... Freakazoid! Man, his voice fits perfectly!

@Alegretto; She's crazy! XD I love how she rambles on and on and starts fangirling over actors XDDD

My boyfriend's a huge fan of the Steel Samurai case as well!

@Buckwheat; XDDD You bought the second game in the series! Grab a copy of the first game as well... I still love playing it even though I've beat it already. Something about yelling "OBJECTION!" into my DS makes me happy...

And yes! Edgeworth fans unite <333

@Victor; Oh, I've heard of those, but I haven't watched all of them yet! They're so silly hahaha.

I knooow! And I loved it in the first game when she was hitting on Edgeworth. Classic!

I seriously need to finish the first game. I'm on the 4th case, but Von Karma scares me too much.

But von Karma's awesome! In that creepy old man prosecutor kind of way... BUT STILL lol.

I won't say too much, but I found him hilarious at the end of the case XD;; and that's all I'll say.

His daughter's in the 2nd game! I think she's awesome too ;__;

Ehh. He just looks like a creepy pedo to me. The one who lingers outside the cildrens' doors at night. Waiting, just waiting...

But his voice is great. I giggle like mad when you hear his insanely creepily deep cry of "OBJECTION"

  • Without having to really just search up phoenix wrong, here's the website that Evestraw compiled with links to all of the phoenix wrongs ever made--Though, be warned, some just aren't worth watching, and after you have, you'll be all "WTF. Why did I watch that one?" xDD
