  • Blarg~
    Steve drank too much milk D;

    And now hes afraid of kidney stones.
    If my mom had them, can I get them?
    And is drinking too much calcium a cause of it?
    Because Steve drinks a 2L of milk in 2-3 days..

[size=9] @ Lullaby:There there...Sometimes oversleeping doesnt solve all our tired-ness :[[[

First off, Since I`m in a Canadian thread I`d like to know which areas of Canada everyone is from ^-^
(I`ve actually met quite a lot of Toronto-arians and Ontario-ians like me online ^^)

Hey everyone. <3 Sorry for the lack of posting on my part last night -- I had a really busy day, and when I finally got home I didn't feel too much like being on the computer. I was here after all later on, but in more of a lurking mode. XD

@Kale: All of that is possible if you set your mind to it. <3 And I know how you feel about getting opinions on your cooking. Hell, I made mac & cheese the other night and I didn't put enough butter in, so it tasted really weird. More like it didn't have a taste at all, even though I put extra cheese in. XD It was sad, especially since I had to feed two people with it. I think, though, that if someone says that your cooking tastes good, you should believe it -- especially if they hastily wolf it down afterwards! Mmm.

@Dare: Huuuu, my quest? @[email protected] *touch* I was questing for STUFF, but I've been addicted to the MAC, so I might end up changing what I quest for (even though purple seems to be my favorite color). I was also considering trying to get one of every previous CI before they're out of range for me, and because I plan on donating for one of each CI every month from here on out, I'd like to fill in the gaps. It might be a while before they're less possible to get, but hmm, that's why I'm considering it. XD

@Steve: Aww. Hmm, I'm not sure if kidney stones are at all hereditary, but I suppose I wouldn't know one way or the other as I've never had one. I was talking to my mom about them the other night, though -- you'd know if you had one, because you'd have such blistering pain in your stomach (as opposed to just cramps from exercising or something) that you'd be down on the floor crying out in pain -- you'd know that you had to go to the hospital. It'd be truly unbearable. I think that as long as you drink a good amount of water every day, you'll be fine.

@Lullaby: Awwww. *pettu* I hate those. :<

@Moofin: Welcome, sweetie! There's actually a list on the first page of this thread which will tell you where most of these lovely members are from. ^^ Can I safely assume that you're from Ontario, then? <3 In any case, please feel free to stick around and chat -- I'd love it if you did! :)

Sorry for the less than bountiful response yesterday, my hands were absolutely aching after a test at school and a whole dosage of geography :(
I totally agree with everything you said nonetheless, let's just hope the issue of moderators is resolved for Gaia sooner rather than later (what with it constantly expanding, and churning out all these promotional deals).

That's probably your best bet at the moment, the King's and Queen's crowns are heavily deflated at the moment so aim high, and come down low and you should have no problem! I think the crowns are around 3k each now? I'm not too sure! There's a price guide in the exchange (not somewhere I'm about too often).

@Moofin: Great! <3

@Dare: Aww, your poor hands. :( That reminds me of a class I had where we had to take somewhere in between six and eight full pages of notes within an hour or something. That was really tough -- the fastest I've ever written to this day, I'm sure.

Regarding the mod issue, I do hope that they're able to fix their situation soon. The last I heard was that they're still looking at the first group of applications, due to a bug/glitch that capped application receipt at 1000 instead of 100. That's probably the main reason why we haven't seen any new moderators there as of yet.

I was thinking of going for the crowns first. ^^ I was indeed looking through the price guide in the Exchange, as well as the Giving Back thread. The bid on the King's Crown is rather low at the moment, and while I don't think I'd be successful in getting the item because I don't have much more than the current bid, I'd like to at least try. @[email protected] It looks like the items really have gone for a lot less in the past, so maybe I do stand a chance -- we'll have to see. XD I did see a Queen's Crown go for something like 2.8k the other day, so that's good to know as well. I know it won't be too hard to get the items. Just keep being active and I'll be fine! <3

@Kale: Hmm. What's your favorite meal to make? >> I'll bet it tastes good~!

Oh, yum! <3 I haven't had that in a long time. Mmm.

How do you usually make it, if you don't mind me asking? I don't make it myself, but my mom makes a fantastic version using hamburger on the bottom, then mashed potato, then a layer of cheese on the top. So gooood.

I never tried it with cheese...

Hamburger in the bottom (mixed with tomato soup)
Corn in middle
Potatoes on top.

Ahh, okay, that's something like how my boyfriend's mom made it. Hamburger mixed with tomato soup, though, that sounds like it'd give it an extra delicious kick!

It seems that corn is a staple for the dish, but I think my mom replaced it with cheese because I never was a fan of the stuff. XD I've tried on several occasions to eat corn, but it never goes down well. :(

Ack that sucks.. I'm not much of a fan for corn.. but I don't notice it too much in the shepherd's pie...

It's my Aunt's recipe so I stick to it because I know it's good. So I never varied from it at all.. besides sometimes replacing tomato soup with mushroom.

That's a good point, actually, I did end up eating the pie with corn, and I didn't notice the taste too much. >> I think the cheese gives it a richer flavor, though. I wonder what it'd taste like with both, especially if the tomato soup was added to the burger.

You're making me crave it. XD <3 *hires you to come cook for her*

Mmm, it's really good! Depending on who makes it, I suppose -- it sounds, though, like Kale's version would be tasty. Of course I find that my mother makes it quite well also. <3

You could always find a good recipe online and bring it up with whoever cooks dinner -- or cook it yourself if you're good at it. :o

I think the only kind of pie that i've tried that isn't in the fruit category is chicken pot pie. I think..
I just havn't had pie in general for a while. =(

Reading over those ingredients is making me want it now. ><;
Maybe i should try making it huh?
I like cooking, but it takes me a few tries to actually make it edible. xD
The first tries i end up over cooking/under cooking.

Ahh i see. ^^;

I'm a little tired, but i don't feel like going to bed.
Gonna drink some milk to help me sleep later though.
I think it's the lurking around and not doing much that's making me tired. o.o
