*Sniffles* It makes me so happy that other people remember this game.
Yes, I have LoD. I have played and beaten it numerous times, and I <3 it to pieces. What can I say? It's a fun game, and even if the graphics aren't the greatest, who cares? I loved the battle system, the characters, how you can go back to previous parts in the game...
Lavitz was my favorite character, though Meru and Albert came in close second to him. I was piiiiissed after what happened in Disc One.
Now I want to go read LoD fanfiction. D:
Anyway, if you go on Gaia you'll find there's a thread for LoD there too. A nice long one... maybe over 500 pages now, I want to say. They have petitions there asking for the following: a remake of the original, a prequel, and a sequel. You can sign one or all of them. :3 I myself signed the first two, though I believe asking for a sequel would be asking for trouble.

That's awsome! I'll look it up today! I'm so happy so many people remember the game too. I was a bit surprised when I started this thread and people were already responding pretty well to it. I always worry that people missed out on it, but it seems they haven't. ^_^

theres a slightly funny story about this game with me. I do admit the FMVs were amazing and the art, the battle system and (I can't remember so well) but the music I think was well done as well. I couldn't get over the plotline though, I was playing through it and I think I was about to figh this dragon (the white dragon maybe?) I saved at the save point and I just decided at that moment I didn't want to play anymore. I did try playing again some years later but I still felt the same way. but I did try to like it. I'd say if they were to do anything with it in the future they'd put something more into the plot. I felt alot of the characters weren't that interesting or that important. although I did like that one dude (can't remember his name) but he died and was replaced in your party :(

You mean Lavitz? I loved him. D:
But anyway.. Yeah, the plot was pretty simple; save the girl, meet people who are supposedly dead, etc. But I liked the characters a lot more than the plotline, and that's what keeps me coming back.
There's something insanely sweet about going back to Tiberoa every disk you can and watching the interactions between Albert and his princess sweetheart. X3 Or going back to the kingdom on the first disk (Serdio?) and watching it get rebuilt from the war.

I find it hard to dislike any of the party members in LoD. However my two favorite characters to us in battle were Rose and Miranda(oh no someone who is actually a Miranda fan). I was always annoyed that she got stuck with the same weapon and stats as Shana. At least with Albert it made sense since he said Lavitz is the one that taught him to fight, but I see no reason why Miranda is stuck with the same stats and weapon when she is shown to be much tougher then Shana. As for the low HP I would just throw a Therapy Ring on Shana/Miranda and that took care of the problem nicely.
As for a remake/sequel/prequel I don't see the idea too far-fetched. After all Valkyrie Profile got a second game and a PSP port and Wild Arms got the full PS2 remake. Both of those games were released around the same time as Legend of Dragoon so it is not entirely unfeasible to see a new Dragoon game.

Honestly, I never got the appeal of this game. I thought it was awful.
Though, I will admit the battle system rocked. It wasn't enough to convince me to finish it though.

Wow, I haven't played that game in a few years now. It used to be my favorite, and I remember getting on the third disc, when everything crashed.
Since then I haven't played it, and I'm still mad at my memory card for losing everything, so much time put into it. I was thinking of starting again, because I really did like the story line, and the way that everything flowed together. The battle system was a plus, because you didnt' just have to sit there.
My favorite character was Meru... yeah ditzy, but soo cute ><
Aside from her, I liked Rose...
I'm too lazy to play through the game again, but I want to know the ending which apparently I can't find anywhere. I'm probably going to end up playing it again, but I would be more inclined to do so if I could play it on a newer system. Maybe they'll redo it for the ps3.. that would be sweet, but I highly doubt that will ever happen. I can keep dreaming though.

And no I didn't spell "dragon" wrong.
The name of the game was Legend of Dragoon.
Anyone else heard of it?
If you have discuss it~
If you haven't discuss other RP games that are just orgasmic [such as Final Fantasy]~

Oh my gawd, YES!! I loved that game! The battle system's pretty creative. Gets kind of repetitive once you get the timing down though. xD

I know a few people who have heard of it. They're all in this thread.
Since this is a duplicate, I'll just go ahead and merge the two. :)

I've owned that game for years, since I got my first Playstation. The aiming system seems tricky at first, but you eventually can get the hang of it. It has a pretty compelling story, even if the battles can get a bit repetitive :)

I do wish they would remake it because the graphics are not impressive unless it's in a movie scene, but I do admire it's battle system. I haven't seen another like it. There may be one out there, but I haven't heard of it yet. I mean the additions were fun because you don't just sit there, you do something to make them work and you learn better timing with things. The storyline was good too. It kept me interested the whole time and it's amazing how this one small adventure (it seems) spiders off into the one big scenario where EVERYTHING connects. Yeah I know that happens... but I just liked how it happened in this game. It was also odd how I discovered the game. This is the only game I played a demo of first and then bought because of the demo. Until I had the actual disc I would rent the demo from the local video shop all the time and play through it again and again.

Yes I have played it.
If I didn't like it I wouldn't be making a fan thread now would I?
I think my favorite character is... Lloyd for his looks, Rose for being dark and just being her. When I was younger I liked Shana because she was pretty... but her character can be pretty lame.
Alrighties then, just start talking about LoD. *huggles her favorite game of all time*

I love Legend of Dragoon. I used to watch my brother play it when I was little and I finally got to play it for myself about four years ago when he joined the army and sent all his games my way. The sad thing is I didn't beat it until around the end of last year. I was stuck running around in the machine city near the end while I tried to get all my attack as high as they would go ('cause I'm lame like that). I was gonna fight the dragon there that you fight over again and then randomly decided, "Screw it I'm just gonna beat this game already".
The battle system has to be one of my favorite parts, except for when they slip the circle button in there, I always fall for it. The characters were all really great except for Shana because she's a little cliche. >.< I actually didn't like Lavitz very much but I think that's because I played through the first disc at least five times before I acquired a Playstation one memory card. That and Albert was a complete pretty boy and if I remember correctly a knowledge junkie so I liked him. My favorite character were Dart and Lloyd and my power team was Dart, Rose, and Albert, but that seems to be pretty common. I hated using Shana or Miranda in battle because they had boring attacks and completely sucked at using Haschel. I always to throw my controller at the screen.
I liked to say the attack names too.

This is one of the few games I own that I've actually beaten (and given the amount of games I own and %80 of them being RPGs it's no wonder I haven't finished many). I really loved the game; the story was original and interesting, and the twists and turns they threw in certainly kept you entranced with it. I have to say Shana was a huge disappointment though, she wasn't terribly useful and I never really included her (or used her) when I was fighting. That being said without a doubt Llyod was my favourite character (I've always had a thing for silver haired guys) he was just so cool, I just wished he'd had more screen time, and you know not to die.
Let's see my last thoughts. . .myself and a few friends used to call Albert Sexy-Alby =D

You know, I loved Legend of Dragoon (admittedly because the storyline - or at least the translation - was intensely corny, and a lot of stuff took liberally from other, more popular RPGs). I guess you could call LoD my woobie game - I love it despite its short comings.
My favorite characters, at the time, were Albert and Merle, although I'm sure now I would like different characters.
I think my favorite part of LoD was the world lore. I always thought the game's world would make an excellent RP setting - it would be loads of fun to play your own dragoon, right? I found one, once, but it seemed long dead and far too huge to have actually gotten anything done.
