Here is the poem that I call flight. It is not nearly my best, and I only came up with it at school today, in like 3 min. but I like it.
Flight
Take flight
Spread your wings wide
Know the power they
Can give you
And stretch your wings
Spiraling upward
Into the atmosphere
Updrafts leading you to bliss
But what goes up
Must come down
When you fall
Remember the joy of flight
If you are lucky,
Maybe your wings will return
Spiraling upwards
Into space
Peaceful, away from earth
Bliss forever
This is a short story that I wrote, I am just getting used to writing short stories, so please critique it! If it disturbs you, it could be because it disturbs everybody....
Lizza
I remember, it all started two weeks ago when I first met Lizza. She was sitting alone on a bench in Corner Park. I felt sorry for her, a big mistake, but I never let anyone who looked that sad sit alone. When I asked her what was wrong, she looked up at me and smiled, her green eyes meeting mine for the first time. After that, it was easy enough for us to be friends. We never really got close enough in those two weeks to share secrets. This afternoon, she called me on my cell phone and asked me to come to her house. I agreed, and since I had never been there, she gave me instructions. I followed the directions, but instead of a house, I found an empty store. Through the foggy window, her green eyes met mine for the last time. Before I knew what was happening, a bullet ripped through my chest. Before my soul left my body, I noticed Lizza head across the street to Corner Park and sit on a bench alone.
