It's sort of funny in America cause if there are streotypes and a person does fit in them. You aren't 'suppose' to laugh. It's all PC. But I don't care too much cause it's just too funny when people do. And when I am streotype I laugh too. So it works out.

PC is a load of old claptrap in my opinion, causes more trouble than there was in the first place!
plus, the same as with anything like that, it all ends up going WAY too far

like the 'hooha' monologues currently showing in California  what's all that about!
double standards abound..

"Hooha?" Really? Wow, I hadn't heard about that. It's not like vagina is an offensive word...it's a body part, and an important one at that. *shakes head* Some people...I mean, really, are they going to have to issue us a PC dictionary?

Amy it may have been Florida actually, i remember seeing it on the news a few weeks back, how stupid is it though?
outraged parents complaining about the word vagina on a theatre front, when their teenage daughters are probably up to all sorts!

western civilisation needs to stop being so coy about sex! i think if kids were taught about it in an adult and matter of fact manner, they wouldn't feel the need to be out there doing it just to piss their uptight parents off!

Some adults make such a fuss about anything with sexual content, up to and including the body parts used, that kids are bound to use it as a way to rebel :|

I live in California. I didn't here about the Hooha thing. ^^' I do remember some people got offended cause there were fliers for it like in a coffee shop or something. And they were afraid some impressional children may see it.

*rolls in fat and dumb and screaming vagina*

Vagina! vagina!

Wow... somehow that was very liberating, lol!

I'm not at all English by any means... I'm American to a fault but I thought I would come and visit you jelly :)

Oh, that reminds me. I've been asked what kind of things I would like to have sent to me from the UK. Any suggestions? I sent one of the purkles some trading cards.

Oh. I have a question to ask too. It may sound a bit silly. I haven't been to England before. *tear* But I was wondering if you've been to Cheshire?

Hello Baja 8)

Shishunki ~ i've not been to Cheshire no :( is that where the family you have over here are?

Jurupamae ~ i don't really know what to suggest for British exchange items, all depends on what you're into doesn't it? maybe they could send you the Crown Jewels and you can tell everyone you're the Queen?

i've only just logged on here tonight, but i can't see myself staying long, so sleepy! gotta love those 4AM starts  i shall make an effort to earn myself a few pennies before i head off to my bed anyway..

i suppose if i had to think about a stereotype it would be bad teeth, tea drinking, and bland food.

of course as I am a mexican american I'm supposed to be lazy and drink lots of tequila and corona ^_^

I tell everyone I'm the Queen but they don't listen. They just look at me like I'm another whack job. When you find someone willing to get rid of the Crown Jewels let me know. So far I haven't found any takers, lol

LOL!what a weird name for a boat! they must have had a Brit on the animation team to call it that 8)
got to admit that typical British grub doesn't set your tastebuds alight, especially if you have Mexican blood! but the traditional stuff can be pretty tasty when done properly, i LOVE a good Sunday roast.
you have to blame our geographical position on the planet for our cuisine i'm afraid, not hot enough here for us to have any native spices, though we are excellent at growing watercress! that's good and peppery 8)

and Jaz you do live up to some of your Mexican heritage, think about your tequila drinking a couple of weekends ago

Jurupamae ~ hold out for those crown jewels! the Queen might end up a bit strapped for cash..they might turn up on Ebay 8) actually, i bet there are copies on ebay as it is

Shishunki ~ if i saw a cat with a grin like that i'd freak!
but if i can tempt you to watch this trailer for Roobarb and Custard you'll see that the Cheshire cat isn't the only fictional British cat with a scarily large grin

Roo ~ It's not been here long! i just fancied a lurking spot for myself, and thought it would be nice to have a British thread too, there is one, many pages back, but it's obviously died, and it's much better for me to have my own, so i can earn some pennies from people chatting 8)

Welcome Ladyshi! thank you for visiting my thread :D

Midnight ~ i wouldn't be suprised if you are the only Scot at the moment, but being uniquee is cool so enjoy it while it lasts 8)
