I'd go for it with charging your 2 for the internet Tia, i can just picture Heather's face if you told her you were going to do that
Has she moaned about all her make up that you threw away yet?
|
She hasn't noticed yet. She asked why do you keep all your make up in a box (it is Morgan's old nappy changing box) I said so it is all together and out the road. I gave Morgan a couple of lip glosses she had left about downstairs and told her to hide them in her make up bag in her box. She didn't notice that either.
I threatened to take Heather's contract phone off her if she doesn't pull her weight. So far the threat has worked. She has even been making her own bed!!!
Heather told me once she wanted her family allowance it was in her name, so I gave her it and told her I wanted her months line rental for her phone off it, and her internet & phone money. she said you don't pay for calls? I said I pay for that privlidge, so you pay for your calls, Then you buy your food, pay some elctricity and gas and buy your clothes. She said much do I get family allowance I siad just over £17 a week for you £10 for Morgan. She worked it out and said no you can have my family allowance lol.
My friend once appealed when they stopped his DLA (cos she got £30 a week carers with it). She said to me yes I am his mother I am also his carer. I looked at her and said every mother in the world can say that. I said I need to get up during the night to give Heather an inhaler, when she is wheezy. I need to go and give Morgan her ventalin syrup when she is the same, and that is part of being a mother. I don't expect to be paid for doing what is in the job description of mother! She looked at me and said yes but he has ADHD! So you don't need to get up during the night you stuff him full of ritalin! This girl hadn't worked since she was 17 and expected everything handed to her on a plate. The rest of us poor mugs worked to keep her.

Don't even get me started on people like that. Another problem I have is those that get awarded SSD (Social Security Disability) for things like Asthma (sp) when there is absolutely no reason whatsoever why they can't work. Yet those that really can't work can't get it. It's just not right.

Disability for having asthma!! I'm shocked Roo! It amazes the things some countries allow. Where's the work ethic gone?
Honestly, the asian continent will take over the world because they're not lazy like so many 'Westerners' are..

Both my daughter's have asthma, I found they react better to anti histamine than steriods. So I give them that at night, it opens their airways. The doctor isn't pleased. I renew their inhalors ever year, but I don't use them. they don't need to. No carpets in the room and steaming the beds every week does that.
I get what the American's call disability, but I worked and paid my taxes for years. I don't need to go for a medical anymore as I have a degenitive desiese <sp> and will never get better only worse. My doctor told me with this attack to apply for DLA and I did, they offered me £17.10 a week, which is the lowest level of care, ignoring comletely the mental health problems (my doc told me to appeal so I did). But they way I see it they are my taxes, and I am genuinely ill. I don't suffer from some new invented illness for bad behaviour!

Oh man, well, my stepmom works at SS, and she only sees the cases of REAL disability. Like, people who can't work because of spinal problems, health(like, bad diseases), older ladies who are widows, and etc etc. @ [email protected]
I think she would be angry if she found out that some people are getting it for Asthma. Actually, my stepmom has like, health problems too, and she's not as good than some of the people she gives disability to. =/

Yeah, I know. Truthfully, my stepmom should probably be getting SS, but she's not. xD @ [email protected] She has like, Fibromyalgia, Severe Allergies, and like, she's overweight and has an an enlarged heart I think. o_o  Because she has all those problems, she's having a hard time getting approval for getting weight reduction surgery. American doctors seem to want to go for weight reduction surgery too quickly though in my opinion. but that may be because i'm used to how British doctors are about it, they tend to push the patient to get rid of the weight themselves instead of resorting to the knife so quickly. but we don't have the surgery culture that the US has developed, mainly because it costs more to live over here?
Or because surgery is just so common in the US now that it's often the first resort now instead of the last one? Don't know what i'm talking about really as you can maybe tell

OH NO NO. In my stepmom's case, it's a Last Resort. She can't do anything else. Dieting won't work, and her actual weight is like, endangering her life. Like, it's bad. o_O
The only way how she loses weight is throwing up everything from having food allergies. D:<
Trust me, she tried, but she can't lose much more than the maximum weight that they will operate with.

Yeah, thanks. @ [email protected] I hope that she can work off enough weight or something to be able to go get her surgery, because it could increase her lifespan by about 10-20 years or more. o_o
I just hope she can get it though, so that my dad won't be all sad. xD

The problem is because it is not obvious what is wrong with me, people assume I kid on. The amount of people that said to me don't tell me you have a bad back? I say no actually cervical spondylosis and I have had it since my late twenties, along with athritis which I had in my early teens.I worked because I was expected to, my family didn't claim benefits they worked and you didn't claim for anything. When I left school I claimed SS money for 4 weeks (having an extended holiday) and my mum took my key off me one morning, kicked me out the house and told me not to come back until I had a job. I got one by 3 pm that day. My mum was serious.
My mum went back to work 6 weeks after radiotherapy for cervical cancer, not cos she needed the money she was bored at home.
Not like me I am a virtual recluse, I hate being out the house!

God we are all weight consious now. I have a seven year old that talks about going on a diet, mainly because she listens to her sister :) and her friends talk. Heather had to go for her booster jabs last week, they did her height weight and blood pressure while she was there (She went in herself and from the age of 12 in Scotland a child can refuse to have a parent present or refuse them access to their medical records). She told me when she came out, I said and how is your height and weight, she said I am five pounds underweight. I said oh that is good, I am five pounds over weight I have it, I will give you it back when we get home lol

I have never been on a diet in my life. If I need to lose a few pounds I cut down on crisps and chocolate. My sister is a diet junkie, and she looks awful. Or maybe that is the alcohol she doesn't drink.
I love when she is on the phone and tells me she has had two glasses of wine, she must have a glass that holds a bottle at a time. :(
