i have quite a richly dressed avie at the moment! look a bit festive really which isn't very fitting for this time of the year, but never mind! i may go and put something warmer on in a moment as i'm feeling chilly, and i feel that my avie should be a little more warmly dressed too :roll:

When is it that you're going to Vegas? I'm completely ignorant and have no idea when Labor Day is i'm afraid, is it in August or September?

Labor Day is a tad early this year. It's being observed on September 3. It usually falls somewhere in the first week of September.

We are supposed to be going to Vegas August 31 through September 3rd. I haven't been told definately yet but I'm sure hoping for it.

All i know about Labor Day is that it's meant to be a dreadful fashion faux pas to wear white shoes after that date.

Or so i'm lead to believe by what i've read in books and seen in films, is this true? Or is it more a snobby society thing?

Not really. That's sort of an old fashioned thing. Can't wear white after Labor Day was years ago. Fashion doesn't seem to follow that rule as much anymore. Just the older generation.
