I think I've even stumbled upon a recipe or two. Not something I think I am up to concocting.

I had absinthe once - my house mate brought it back from England with him when he had gone to visit his sister.

We did the whole melting a sugar cube into it and then drinking it - it was minty and gross and was no different than any other kind of drunk I've had - supposedly you hallucinate and stuff when you drink it but I didn't get any of those affects - just a headache. :evil:

the French apparently mixed it with opium, that may be where the hallucinating bit came from..

mmmm yes, jelly! Made with blackberries and everything! That looks so good, makes me want to pull out my black raspberry ice cream right now and I haven't even had anything to eat yet of substance today. Maybe I'll make some soup first and THEN have the ice cream! hehehe
