Australia? Awesome!
I don't foresee any travel plans in my future, but we're moving and that'll cost a bit more. I think it's worth it. Once I graduate college, I imagine things will be different.

I bet it'll be a blast.
I'll be gone to Wisconsin for Christmas this year. We're leaving the 21st and coming back the 26th. I'm not sure what we'll end up doing gift-wise. I don't know if my family will do Christmas early or after we come back home. xD

@chi
I almost hope they just do it while we're gone so we can just take home the haul of presents and not have to deal with the little audience thing they do at your house :)

But the audience thing is what my family thrives on. I'll feel so awkward and out of place to just open my gifts at your place. >.> You'll have to tell me when to do it because I have this over-exaggerated vision of everyone simultaneously throwing paper, rabidly trying to reach their gifts.
<.<

I have to agree with the whole audience thing. My roommate's brother and my sister are living together and have a daughter. My roommate's mother insists on someone playing Santa Clause and then one at a time we have to open all our gifts while everyone else sits and watches. I get so embarrassed having all eyes watching.

That's what it's like with chi's family, too. At my place one person just dispenses the gifts and you open them as you get them. It's not the feeding frenzy that chi imagines...in fact it's not really hectic at all.

Bah. T_T
I guess I'm not bothered when it since I was conditioned to it from birth. We'll get Christmas done either way.

- I love Christmas at my family... there's 4 kids, so each kid has their own pile in the living room - there's two armchairs, each with a pile, and a sofa with the other two piles. Then there are misc presents under the tree. n.n
It'll be different though... because we're all getting older. ; - ;
My sister's almost 19! :cry:

I'm not sure how many presents my family has. The bulk of them go to my nephew now. It was a lot when my sister and I were kids though. We'd get birthday money and Christmas presents, and everything else we had to figure a way out for ourselves or go without.
I think that makes you appreciate the gifts more. I still remember how I'd die with anticipation the last two weeks of December every year. It only came once a year, after all. :D

Seeing that stocking lying flat... then your eyes close... then they flicker open, and it's full! *o*

- I did. xD
My door alarm* was actually highly successful, but broke before Christmas Eve. D:
Plus I can sleep through a hurricane, so it wouldn't have mattered. xD

Hahaha! That's cute.
I remember I'd lay awake for as long as possible waiting to hear reindeer hooves hit the roof. It never happened, hehe.

- I wrote Father Christmas a letter, and I asked him how his reindeer flew. The crappy reply was 'they have magic in their hooves'. >_>
Sometimes I wish my mum was more imaginative. xD

I wonder what my child will end up doing... or what reply I'd give them? I think it would depend on the kid's personality and which answer would amuse or satisfy them the most. xD

Now I'm older, I'm actually impressed that she made reindeer hooves on the floor with chocolate power and had a nibble at the carrots we put out. xD

And so believable... you know, that they have chocolate hooves. n.n

Not, "HOLY CRAP TOYS!"
