Ok, So I just joined World of Warcraft after a two year leave of absence (because the game drove me nuts)
And So I was like... alright, I have always played alliance, I always played a Night elf... what is the compleate opposite?
How about a Horde Female troll...
SUUUUUUuuuure why not... lets try something new...
So I am now playing ona server called bleeding hallows... (nice name eh?)
And It is the same stuff, but I figured out some things...
1)If you play on horde you tend to be under 15 and or just an immature person...
2)If you play on alliance you can often forget that horde players are not just another group of monsters.. they are real players and actually have feelings too!
3)Gold farmers are still and forever and always will be annoying, and a nuscense
4) Spam is now littering your /tell box...
-If I want spam I will check my e-mail thank you....
5)It Still costs 16 a month and if you are on a trial you might as well not play becuase you cant do anything that will help your player become stronger, and it takes away any form of convience....
6)a n00b is a n00b no matter how long you play the game... you act immature... you run around yelling MY PANTS are on FIRE or spamming up the general chat with bullshit you are a n00b and should take a few lessons on MMO curtosity... If you get killed I say.. hell you deserve it..
7)Now there are random party invites and guild invites... hey maybe I dont want to join your guild eh? I got two invites today from Hitlers hero's... OK yea... great guild name.... /sighs
Well that is all I am going to rant for now, if you would like please add in your own words ^_^;;;

I've never tried WOW.. although I know people who played it and really liked it. Guys! XD Anyway.. I always found the female designs really.. icky, and misshapen. I don't think I could stand to play one. Plus.. I'm so sick of hearing people talk about this game. >.o That alone taints it for me. (Not meaning your thread.. meaning the people I know who won't shut up!)

Your number one is what I hear about the Alliance. That the alliance is filled with the 15 years olds and immature players and that the horde has people who are more about playing.
but I do not play WoW a friend of mine got me playing evarcrack instead.

Ugh. I'm with you, lizzle. I'm so sick of people claiming WoW is the best game ever. I fail to see how. The graphics are too cartoonish for my tastes, and it seems all you do is fucking farm. WHEE. Repetitive killing! And an impossibly high ratio of asshole to non-asshole players! WHAT FUN.
I'll stick to Guild Wars, thanks. At least there I've run into a decent amount of really nice people. And the graphics are pretty. And it's actually challenging. And you can do quests and advance the games' plot to achieve your goal level, not by farming like a moron. I prefer games like that where skills > the grind.

XD My reason for staying away from it is that everyone I know who plays it is addicted. It's like their whole life becomes this game! It makes me sad too. Although one person I know IMed me today and told me he was quitting WoW... That made me happy. XD I didn't think it was possible for people to quit once they started.

I usually find taht the younger crowd is drawn to the alliance side cause they want to play the "hero" and alot of the more mature crowd joins horde. It may be different on the server your on htough, I"m not sure

I played that for a while, but just canceled my subscription a week ago. I never got past, what? Level 18? And I couldn't bring myself to try and communicate with anyone; they all seemed like such... jackasses.
I might have to check out Guild Wars if they ever come out with a version you can play on a computer that doesn't suck.
Or maybe Grando Espada, whenever that comes out. And then ditto. Maybe if I could trust my mom's computer not to freeze up or loose all out files every 10 minutes...

I'm never tempted by anything that costs a lot of money. You'd have to be prepared to spend all your free time on there to make it worthwhile.
Also, you need to already know people who play it, really. I wouldn't just want to fling myself in there on my own. Paticularly since you paint such a wonderful picture of the attitudes of the players!

I was never that impressed with WoW. The people that played that game weren't incredibly friendly on that my server. >__>;
In MMO's I like to form friendships and parties, and I found myself soloing a LOT and the only communication I got from the rest of my server, was some guy constantly yelling that he wanted to cyber. x__x;
I'm kinda glad that I quit, I don't like the whole PvP aspect. I got my ass handed to me a couple times, just because I was walking around in neutral territory minding my own business.

A lot of guys at my school play WoW, I don't though. I dunno, I feel that I would be the only female here at school who would play it though. I'm the only hardcore gamer girl at my school, too. Everyone here is like, ooh, video games, uhm... >.>
WoW is too expensive for me, though. xD

Reading through this thread I've seen a several comments that just don't seem right to me. It sounds to me like a lot of the comments are from people who haven't really played the game much but try to sound like they have. Especially the comment about World of Warcraft being all about grinding and farming. It actually takes a really long time to level just by grinding -- you're intended to do quests to level. So I'm not sure where this misconception is coming from. There are a ton of quests in the game -- it's how you're intended to level, though some people prefer to do the old grind, and that's fine if that's what they like. But to say that it's all about farming and grinding, well I just don't understand that.

I disagree. >_>
I believe if you maintain a healthy relationship (Yes, relationship) with WoW, you have no worries. Some people are so high strung on leveling that they will do anything. I rather help my friends catch up then level. Either way until I'm a 69-70, I'm easy pickings for a ganker. :lol:

OMG such hatred :( it seems alot of you have quite the vendeta with WOW. me and a ton of my friends play wow including my GF :D. 15 year only playing horde? you must have experience the barrens, hahahaha, yeah it can seem like that at times. We all play horde, and refude to play allience, partially because on our servers allience seems to have 0 grasp on battlegrounds and often loses. also about grinding. . . I may do that when I have very little xp until the next level but never as a main means to level. I used to do that, and in less time it took me to level a character to 30 on grinding, I have gotten to level 50 (and on a PVP server getting ganked alot), questing is indeed the only true way to level.

I tried playing using a friends account. Wasnt all that impressed with what I found. Its nothing but a grind when it comes down to it, theres no real storyline and I feel like I'm watching a violent version of cartoon network wit the overly cartoonish characters. Other problem it seems unless you know some high level that can twink, outfit you in high end items, your just unimportant as you have nothing of interest. Also being forced to pay for a game repeatedly, I understand why its done(server costs and expenses, ect.), isnt all that appealing to me. Being a working college student what money I have cant be sent off to a game company every month. I'll stick with the F2P games out there myself(ie. Guild Wars and 9 Dragons).
