:( I was hoping to get in some rings to work on my maille projects with, but when my friend/boss/person ordered the latest order, he got the wrong gauge x.x So now we gotta wait another two weeks before the right ones get here. And then... I shall maille to my heart's content! Hooray for chainmaille.

There's no feeling like it, sitting back and feeling the baby kick. It's really really nice on bad days, too... like it's the baby's way of letting you know that they're there and everything will be alright. Of course... I'm an unusually big sap for things like that, lol.

Making chainmail eh? Any special reason?

It's a hobby/side job ^.^ We sell it at conventions and hopefully renaissance festivals if we can find one to get involved in. Unfortunately, the Maryland Renaissance Festival has a chainmaille person already, and she refuses to let any other providers in... she's got her own little monopoly. x.x

They hold events all the time, and theres an event in Pennsylvania every year called "Pennsic" which has something like 10,000+ people at it. If you make a lot of good chain mail things, you might be able to make a tiny profit there... or at some other sca event near you whenever they have one...

If he likes it, tell him i wouldn't mind a discount, lol. I tease, im not a big chain mail fan, but i know that chainmail bikinis and stuff seem to sell well/popularly at SCA events sometimes. *shrugs* If ya'all mixed in leather working, you could make a killing.

I just told him about it... Apparently he's already done lots of SCA events and hated working there, as the competition is less than friendly. People constantly squabbling over the quality of your work, or pitching a fit if you sell stuff that isn't "armor quality" when in reality we don't sell the actual armor pieces unless their commission anyway. *shrug* Oh well... we have more fun at conventions/fetish events anyway.

Ahh, some SCA people can be coughcough. Too bad people who don't suck miss out because of obsessed people. OH well.

Yeah... I've been trained with several weapons and know the timelines and cultures of the time period pretty well, but I wont join my local chapter because the people there are WAY too over the top. Almost to the point that I think they need to spend some time in therapy.

I'm pretty basic, I'd learn more if the last group i was part of didnt get off on smashing anyone from ever trying, they where bad teachers, not the kind that wants you to improve. They just wanted moving Pells. My local chapters too far from where i live.

I'm starting a household though, just me and my friend for right now, but I'm hoping that by next year I'll have a handful of others to drag to pennsic with me for my grand return.

I made a few "enemies" in the SCA because I am honest and don't like to be around gossipy crap, and let people know exactly what others where saying about them. Of course they all lied and said i was just trying to cause trouble, but eh. I don't care, it sorted out my real friends in the SCA, which where none. *smirks*

Dragon: I find I actually prefer the group at our renfaire anyway... Good people, good music, good drinks... and so very, very little time for drama :D Its a good place to spend your weekends during the season.
