I have/had the same name in two sites but here I have a different one. I think having the same name everywhere jist makes it easier to remember passwords. Also, it's easier for people to find eachother on other places.

The only other time I've used this name was for Gaia, and the majority of people know me there by that name. I also use two other names, each to their own respective things. For online socializing sites, though, I'd be using this name.

why is this? I use the same name/variations of the same name everywhere because my username is a reference to my favorite book. The character whose name I stole is someone I really identify with. I guess I've made it kinda like a personality that is me. Since I can't use my real name, I'll use another form of me.

is it a feeling of belonging to ourselves? I admit, I do feel like the name belongs to me. I honestly get mad or disappointed when someone has already taken the name.

Is it because we want everyone to recognize us everywhere? I never have that intention, but it is nice when people recognize me from elsewhere.

do you use your same password aswell? I do not do that, it sounds unsafe to me...

are you proud of your avie too? I try very hard to be proud of my avatar. Sometimes it's hard because I can't afford everything I want...

Because it's easier to remember, of course. And then if you have friends who go on both or other sites, then they'll be able to find you more easily than if you changed your username.

I don't use this username anywhere else, though I do have a few others that I seem to use all the time. ^^; I try not to use the same password for everything, though once in a while if I don't think the account is important (say for here or Gaia) then I'll use the same one. Oh noes, someone stole my pixelated gold. Horrors! xD

My dA and Gaia account both have this username. It's an adaptation of one of my earliest screen-names around 2000 as well as of my favorite Nintendo console. xD I guess I use the same name everywhere because I like to see old friends and be able to talk instantly, and also because I sign all my artwork as 'Pintendo64', so I don't want to be accused of stealing. xD

I use because it's easy to remember everything. One username for every site I'm on makes things less confusing. If I use many different screen names for tons of different sites, I'd prolly forget them all.

I use the same screen name everywhere so that I'll be recognized. And so that I don't have to keep coming up with screen names for every site, because I join a lot, and then having to remember all those screen names... It used to be, back before avatar sites, my thing was pet sites. And I'd make a new name on each of those. @[email protected] But they weren't forum based, so it wasn't like there was a lot of places for people to recognize me, the ones that I did have forums, I rarely went on the forums anyway. But now with avatar sites, I use the same name on every avatar site. Just because.

I generally keep the same couple of names because I simply like to keep things consistent x33 It's easier to not have to think up of a new name for every different site you want to register with, and remembering them is a pain too. I don't think that it has anything to do with people recognizing me, or anything to do about appearances. I don't really care if people think I have a great avatar or anything--that's not going to matter if I transfer to a new website. The whole recognition thing doesn't really matter much to me either--I tell most of my clost friends who I am on each site anyways so they'll already know who I am ;D I guess it has the most to do with identity--I feel that this is somewhat my alternate name so I just like to sign up with a consistent alias (when possible) x3

I actually have different names on here and on Gaia.
I like having variety, rather than having the same name forever.

I have a variety of screennames, though this is my main one as far as the internet community goes. People at my school have issues grasping it so I invented a separate identity for that portion of my life.

At anyrate, when I signed up on Menewsha I originally tried to create a name around my real name, hoping (perhaps a little foolishly) that with such a small user population, I might have the luck to land it. It was taken, as I had suspected, and therefore I decided to just use my Gaian identity.

I found out about this place on Gaia, as i'm sure many others have, and therefore I thought it might be a good idea to be more "recognizable." Also, it's much less confusing for myself, seeing as I have not much new to commit to memory.

Beyond that, this name is me, or at least a more vivacious version of myself. I am the only individual who goes by "Sakoiyi" and I would be extremelly annoyed if another person stole my identity. Thus, I will tend to use it when I sign up on sites. I will not, however, reuse my password. Call it paranoia (I call it common sense), I do not trust anyone with my password, even the said people in control of a website I may partake in. Therefore it will change from site to site.

I do have another separate identity, the aforementioned school idenity (which I am rather fond of), but I would rather not use it here because it's a little lengthy.

And as for your final question, i'm not proud of my avatar yet. x3 A little too bare for my tastes. I'm very happy, however, to have dark skin. My Gaian avatar is a zombie, and while i'm very much attatched to the skin, I've always wanted to try out a different tone.

I have one that I go by around most of the internet. For one thing, I've been using it for almost ten years now, so it seems like my name. And another, it's pretty unusual and has very specific spacing and capitalization. So if you see it anywhere online, that's me. And if I try to sign up for a site and find that it's been taken, it means that I'd already signed up and had forgotten all about it. :lol:

However, this name and the one I use on Gaia are anomalies. When I first signed up on Gaia, I didn't get the activation email, so I had to choose another name. I just went with one of my roleplaying characters. When I joined this site, I wasn't sure whether I wanted a male or female avatar, so I picked a name that's more gender indiscriminant. I hope that the easy gender switching remains a feature on Menewsha, since I'd like to switch to male (and back and forth) when more clothing becomes available.

  I generally go by Caroline or Rabbiteen on smaller sites, but on larger ones where those names are already taken, I have completely different screennames. I use different passwords because I don't want someone to be able to access ALL my accounts across different sites and including my emails if they happen to crack just one password.

Pretty much Reign is a name i've been going by for a while now, i use it on all the sites i'm on, and many people known me by it too, sign my work under it, and its ultra easy to remember :D

Whenever I made a new mule at gaia, I posted simultaneously on six of them when I was in my prime} I always had to tell my friends "It's me, tigerangel", then they would recognize me. tigerangel basically was my indentity there for almost 3 years.
