Answer: Why do I use the same screen name(or similar versions of it.) it might be because I feel very attached to this particular screen name. And because so everyone will recognize me where ever I go. But I do have other screen names to use in case my favorite or usual screen name is taken by some one else. So I don't have the same user name every where.

Answer: Well it would be nice if some of friends came from Gaia or real life. And would recognize me by my user name.

Answer: Well yeah I supposes, since I not exactly one with good memory.

I use my same username everwhere, and i know exactly why, so if i run into anyone i know in one place, that has met me in another, they will recognize me.

But mules and stuff normally have their own unique name.

and for the ones that comented on the password thing, sorry not my intention to deveal your secrets (i thought about that later after iposted the questions and started seeing the answers) it was actually a good question for a poll related to if you find it easier to have one pass for all or for security reasons you tend to have one for everysite that is the objective of the question but yeah it is ok not to answer to that =)

I dont use the same screenname on gaia, but like 3 sites have this same name *Jedi Master* I think I like this name alot! And its just WAY easier to remember!

Your screen name is the online version of your own name, that's what i think anyway, so it stands to reason that you'd use the same one wherever you go, it becomes as much a part of you as your given name is.

and yes, i use the same password for this name too, which may seem dumb, but if i didn't i have to write them all down, which is even dumber.

it's enough of a trial having to remember 10 different passwords on Gaia, without coming up with even more for every site that i use :shock:

I've only used the same name on a few sites.

I have the same screen name for multiple reasons.
1) I like the name, though now I want it just down to Kale.
2) I like giving people a chance to know me even if their screen name is different than the one I'm used to they could pick out, "hey I know that person"

Okay a little less reasons than I thought or I don't know how to articulate the other ones. Oh well.

It is ok we understand =) good !!

I don't use the same screen name everywhere I go, because I like the idea of starting fresh without the stigma or reputation that another name would get me on a new site.

Some sites I do carry over names to, but others I do not. Like on Menewsha.

A. Personally, it is just a name I became attached to when I first made it on Gaia when I was 12 years old. xD I think it is childish, but I can't bring myself to change it.

All my passwords are different, no two the same. xD I think it is stupid when people keep the same one.

A. I do not care if they remember me or not. Chances are, I will forget them if I do not chat with them for a while, so the probably forget me. Though some don't and it is embarrasing when they ask if you remember them or not. I do not love the Sn, but I am attached to it.

I use the same screen name so people don't get confused when they are looking for me.

I've been using the same screen name since 1999.

I'm not smart and I forget things easily.

Honestly, though, on a couple of places, more so the avatar forums like this, my names are different, because I tend to make my avatar into a character...

As of late I sign up to places as Captain Anna, but my older ones had something to do with Anna-Chan.

But, for example...
My Gaia account is Yao Lin.
My account here is The Silent Doll...
My runescape account is Yin Kuro.
Anything I have a character, or avatar on, gets a unique name.

For me, it has to do with two things more than anything else.

I tend to keep the one screen name that describes me more than anything else at the time. This can change from month to month but normally doesn't. Only just recently have I decided to change the name that I go by with new sites that I join. I don't want to change my name on sites that I've established my identity since they'd have no idea who my new name would be.

Also, a reason I tend to use the same name means I'll have a greater chance of remembering what that name is. XD If I had to remember a different name for each site, I know I'd forget one. :p

I use MOSTLY the same username everywhere because it's just easy to remember. The same goes with passwords, I hate to say. xP
I guess it could be so that people would recognize me, but I don't care much because I'm usually a loner on online communities without my rl friends on. xD
But I usually exhibit a different, and more coherent persona online. xD

I always try to get the name orange on every forum I join xD

  So that my friends will know how to find me.
  My username is cool! 8D
  It's too hard to think about another username.
  You're just soo used to it that if somone calls you by that name you know it's you!
  And because it's my nickname in real life! XD
