I want to keep myself and my identity constant from site to site so I tend to use the same name. I don't want one person/friend from one site confuse me with someone else just because my name is somehow theirs. I'm not exactly "proud" of it at the moment, since I am pretty much just generic and undefined in terms of style. While as in gaia I have a larger wardrobe to express my uniqueness and creativity in. I'm pretty much the site on all forum sites, but on mmorpgs I can be more aggressive since people there have to be to avoid being KSed and harrassed by other players.

I'm Vanille Chocolat on Gaia, Chaitealatte/Marzikin/Whiskey/Chocoli/Lullabee/Cucumber_fiend on various things, sometimes just Vanille... Generally the only way to associate me is that my names always have something to do with food or sweet things.

Well, I don't use the same screen name for everything.
Usually, it would be 1 or 2 accounts, but at the moment, they're all different. XD

This one has a connection to my current MSN display name. :3

I think it's because sometimes we get noticed for who we are on one website when we change to another. And also, because it's our signature name, and it's hard to stray away from it and find anything more creative, or something that isn't already taken.

I like my username because it's mine and because it reflects who I want to be. Ling is my favourite screen name but because its so common a lot of the time its taken on a lot of other sites so I use variations of it.

I don't particularly care whether others know that I go under this username at other sites. One thing I try to avoid is using the same password.

And since I've just started making gold (and have yet to buy any items for my avatar) I can't say I'm proud of my avi. ^^;

Well, one it is easier to remember than 5 million different names everywhere!

I only have different names to keep certain things a secert that I do now want anyone I know in real life to know, so far working well with that.

Also, i've grown quite attached to Akasha. I've started using at many places the Heartilly, but also quite attached to Akasha6915, one of my orginal online names. pretty much anything you see that name, it is mine!

passwords, are different on different sites. Especially ones tha envolve my money! Now those are very different form the rest.

I would forget my names if they weren't always the same.

I use this username on all sites that haven't had it taken. It's sort of like an actual name. I mean in real life I wouldn't respond to Bob, because it's not my name. :P So falcon is generally my online ID name. n_n

I have switched drastically from my Gaia name, as I don't want people to remember me from Gaia. I was part of a group I am now completely against. I don't want them to recognize me. >_>

Ohh I know this is old but I was looking for something a bit different to post to and keeping on topic and came across this. I don't see anything against rules of posting in an old place anyways when I'm on topic SOOO here goes nothing.

Woah how to explain my reasons. To be honest I've never really thought to much as to why but I guess in making me think I can come up with a reason or two. I have the same name for all websites. (all the avatar forum ones and some others) but I also have one other, a tag name of sorts which I use to if I don't want to really chat thus no desire of being recognized. I think the reason I enjoy keeping my name is because I am very attached to it for its uniqueness and many have come to know me on it, sooo it suits. ^^ This also helps for those who know me on one place to know me on another too. (some even find me because of it) It makes it easier to keep track of friends and keep track of who I am since on this lpace.. many refer to a persona to screenname. Change the name, it can get confusing. ^^;; (more so when ya forget of the change so just see it as someone new)

My password is different for EVERYTHING I join just because I am that paranoid of theft. >.> Might be just some PC pixels but I take pride in them so it becomes personal if someone steals since I had to work / earn / deserve them in order to obtain.

Lastly, am I proud of my ava? Most of the time. XD I like to think most of mine are unique and are designed to please ME not everyone else. On gaia, I have a few and a few compliment upon often but I've NEVER entered an ava contest nor the ava arena and never will. Here, I do the same. I make / use what I like and not for the sake of others or the damn weekly spotlight. More so why I am a rebel against changing hair color just because of the clothes. IRL you don't see someone dieing their head pink if they wear pink and black clothes. Here, I see most do it for the sake of everyone doing it.. so mroe so.. I refuse not to and I LIKE my black hair. <33

Well, I do use mine a lot, but it's simply because that way I don't have to try and remember like 20 different names....it's just easier.

Dx Namly my friends from real life. :c Some of them are not cool online and really nooby and lame. Much better to hang out with in realy life. c: I don't use the same password, I'm not a moron. D: I use random letter and numbers as my passwords. ;3 I'm proud of my avatar so far. xD I'm so new that I really don't have much of an avatar yet. xD; BUT YES! I do like to try different personalities under different usernames. If I use the same username, people exspect me to be the same. I don't like that, I hate being super polite like I have to be on some sites I love, and then I can't act more myself on different sites 'cause of that. ;; I'm still the same person. :'c
  

I often use the same user name because it's something that's rarely taken and it has significance to me. Also, if someone recognizes me, yea! Or possibly not, depending on the person.

I use the same screen name on almost every site just because I don't feel like having to remember a million different ones. >< This name and my Gaian name are different from my normal one, but.. whatever.

Part of it is that I love my screenname and associate myself with it.
The other part is, when I'm signing up for a website, I don't want to sit there for half an hour trying to think of a name. I want to get into the website. So I just go by a previous moniker.
But I do change screennames every few years. One gets old and stops being "me", so I change to a new me.

I haven't used this name anywhere else. It was always taken by the time I thought to use it, or before I joined the place. My most commonly used name is "Samsara" or some derivation thereof.

I would like to be recognized everywhere, but also I associate myself with that name. That name is me xD

I'd rather people remember me for being me than just for a name. I guess the name just helps associate.

Of course I'm proud of my avvie :3 I design it to portray something. Not necessarily me, but maybe an emotion or something.

Well, I have a few different screenames I use for different environments.

My avatar site screen name is consistent as I'd like to be easily recognizable from site to site. I would? I would!~

My name on social networking sites is different as I do NOT want my avatar site user name to be linked with it. I certainly don't want people from a site where I retain a certain amount of anonymity to find me on somewhere like youtube where much more of my personal information is available.

I think most people use the same name so they can be associated with all that they've done on other sites. ^^

My screen name is a name that good friend created for me, and it is very important to me. I use it in almost all situations where I can't or don't want to use my real name. Also, since it's unique, its never taken, and I can be easily recognized by it.

As for passwords, I have a small set of passwords of varying complexity that I use for everything. They're easy for me to keep track of, and easy to modify slightly in case they need more letters or something.

Hmmm I've always used the same screen name everywhere. But not always this one. You can tell when I signed up to things by my screen name.

At first it was Coral. I loved coral so I used that. Then I became deeply religious and wanted to show that so I used my religious name everywhere, but then I discovered that if people knew my religious name they had more power over me (earth based complex religious system) so I had to stop using that and now I use my boyfriends nickname for me because everyone should know I am Jaymses fallen Angel. I don't really do it to be known everywhere, more because the screen name means something to me.

And yes I love my avatar. Hail Flopsy :P
