Oh, I know the symbols, I did some sailor scout drawing of my own way back when. I meant the correlation of the number four with death.

heh...? lol. I could misread something at times. *chuckles*
hmm, I thought that is obvious if you watch anime.
Death note and Bleach have Shinigami. Shi = pronunciation for 4.
for Chinese is si too. sharper s.

...The glyphs for the Sailor Scouts with the exception of Moon are alchemy symbols to connote transformations of materials into something else/processes or the aftermath materials themselves.

Since they were being persecuted and run down by the Catholic church, they had to talk in riddles, hide their secrets and hence resorted to the use of symbols to be able to keep their methods safe.

Jupiter's symbol has little to no connection to the folkloric death. It just so happen it is what the western alchemists found as convention to use as the symbol of the planet.

Although the story/plot line of Sailormoon might have made some though you can't quote me on that.

I think the reason for the decimals is that your post isn't always at a whole number with how they divide up the amount each letter/punctuation mark is worth in a post. And so to make us not lose some gold that we could gain while posting they give us decimals. which add up to whole numbers fast enough. (: I think it is more fair then just rounding up or down.

Morning everyone! it is once again freezing today. It feels like it is 20 degrees outside! D:

Oh NOES!! No losing nipples!

SQUEE!! Sailor Moon talk. No one ever talks about Sailor Moon anymore, I feel so left out. But yes, the planet symbols were assigned forever ago based on alchemy and stuff like that--each planet/celestial body was associated with various metals and properties, thus their symbols.

Plus, wasn't Sailor Saturn REALLY the Sailor of Death? Even moreso than Jupiter?

Poor poor Rue!

That's why anime can be dubbed or subtitled! I typically buy the Japanese versions that include dubs because they are better than American dubs that will sugar-coat a lot of stuff, like homosexuality. I like subtitles, but then I lose some of the action. then again, with Sailor Moon, it tends to be the same actions over and over :D

:o lol, well, roo, like what eternal said, there is dub and sub.
I prefer sub, because, to learn Japanese and their voice acting is better, suit the mouth movement more.
Dub, some dub are just plain bad. and the voice is just weird.
I had train enough to be able to notice the action and read teh subtitles in the same time. Sometimes, I even said the same thing the same time to read the subtitles and translate them in Japanese~~

Wow Maeve. I am really bad with languages, so would never be able to learn Japanese enough to understand anime. Dubs really CAN be bad, which is why I won't get the American dubs--too many changes, and too much lost.

When I was small, I thought Cantonese was the original voice for it, from Hong Kong. lol. and just when I listen to the ORIGINAL one, I realise how BAD the toher languages sounds in. XD besides, there are some jokes that just can't be understood when translate into other languages.

Easier example would be Harry Potter, there are a few funny moments that could only be express in English, but when I read the Chinese version, there is no laugh.

I prefer Subtitles to Dubbing. I'm just picky. >.< and now that I have my big screen reading and watching all of the action works even better. (:

Lil-serious? There isn't an RP for it yet? Perhaps you should start one?
